1. Ratcheting up the rhetoric
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.23.10)
Imbecile? Does the "dear leader" in Pyongyang think Israel didn't know exactly who was building what in Syria? Why else do you think Israel destroyed it? North Korea must really be getting desperate. Earlier, we had the news report of Pyongyang's open threat to use force against United States naval exercises (although Hussein Obama will tuck his tail between his legs and slink off thoroughly chastened) -- whatever has happened to the United States, allowing a pissant tyrannical regime such as North Korea to get away with open threats of violence? The fact of the matter is that the United States could easily launch a multi-pronged attack that would completely cripple North Korea. There would not be a retaliatory strike.
2. A RESULT OF THE FAILING POLICIES OF THE CLINTONS !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (07.24.10)
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said in May that a shipment of North Korean weapons, including rockets and rocket-propelled grenades, seized in Thailand last December was headed for Islamist groups Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon. He also said North Korea was providing Israel's foes Iran and Syria with aid for their missile programs. WHAT IF THE NORTH KOREANS, WAS TO GIVE THE IRANIANS, AN ATOMIC BOMB ???. Pyongyang was hit with fresh UN sanctions last year to punish it for a nuclear test in May 2009, its second atomic detonation. The expanded measures were aimed at cutting off its arms sales, a vital export estimated to earn the destitute state more than $1 billion a year. WAS IT NOT BILL CLINTON, WHO GAVE NORTH KOREA THE ATOMIC REACTOR ??? - AND NOW THIS RESULT North Korea's biggest arm sales come from ballistic missiles, with Iran and other Middle Eastern states as customers, according to US government officials. IT IS STILL THE CLINTONS IN LEAD OF US FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THOSE DEMOCRATIC LEFTISTS, SEEMS NEVER TO UNDERSTAND REALITY, BLINDED BY THER SELFDECEPTIVE IDEOLOGY OF THEIR LEFTIST PARADISE. Arn.

DEAR SARAH - STUDIES OF A MILITARY CONFLICT BETWEEN NORTH-KOREA, AND THE SOUTH WITH THE US ON ITS SIDE HAS SHOWN - THE SOUTH IS THE LOOSER !!!. AND NOW WITH NORTH-KOREA IN POSESSION OF NUCES, EVEN IF THE NORTH WOULD BE DESTROYED, THEY WILL TAKE THE SOUTH AND POSSIBLE EVEB JAPAN WITH THEM DOWNWARDS. PERSONALY I DO NOT THINK THE POPULATION IN THE SOUTH AND JAPAN IS PREPERED TO PAY THIS PRICE. THE US HAS BEEN SITTING IDLE TO LONG IN THE CASE OF NORTH.KOREA, AND THE ONLY OPTION FOR THE US NOW , IS TO LEAVE EAST- ASIA, THEY HAVE LOST. Arn.

Chris.B ,   Australia   (07.24.10)
Dear Sarah .B How are you? Veracious as ever I see. A few points of interest for you. 1. Israeli concern for Korean missile proliferation is quizzical at best. The real reason, Israel hates non friendly regimes who can defend them selves. Always touting the words ‘strategic balance’ meaning hegemony. As Israel is given billions in military aid paid by American tax payers there is no concern to have. Russia is more dangerous in its M/E proliferation that Korea ten fold. 2.You suggest Barak ‘Hussein’ Obama should attack North Korea?? Do you know Korea’s military capabilities I would say not. America is well aware of the damage that a war with Korea will bring so this will never happen. And as for Obama’s middle name are you suggesting the AIPAC endorsed and sponsored president is not suitable. Is this the same stooge that crawled to congress for another $200 million for Israel’s Iron fraud program? He was also railroaded by the pro Israeli lobby and Israeli aides not to have direct negotiations with Iran and Syria. Please If AIPAC or big bankers didn’t want him in power it would have been some other stooge. He is a puppet like the rest. 3. As you always like to harp on about other countries past crimes lets talk about Israel’s years of Illegal weapons proliferations to African nations. Causing millions of deaths for the sake of a dollar.
5. China is the key to N. Korea, US can do little short of War
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (07.24.10)
China needs Iran oil and N. Korea needs the money so US has done about all it can do short of nuking the whole country and then S. Korea and Japan would be likely nuked. For US/EU goals a ME peace deal is needed but at a cost to Israel but the other option could lead to nuke war, with Israel and much of ME going up in smoke.

JUST ONE POINT - Always touting the words ‘strategic balance’ meaning hegemony. DO YOU WANT A WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST ???. THERE WILL BE PEACE THERE AS LONG AS YOU SAY - meaning hegemony. WHEN THE STARTEGIC BALANCE IS CHANGED, BY HOSTILE NATIONS AGAINST ISRAEL, FOR THE SAKE OF GOING TO WAR AGAINST ISRAEL, THERE IS GOING TO BE A WAR. YOU SEEMS TO BE AN USEFUL IDIOT IN MY EYES THUS - Israeli concern for Korean missile proliferation is quizzical at best. The real reason, Israel hates non friendly regimes who can defend them selves. NORTH KOREA IS NOT A PEACEFULL NATION ARMING ITSELF FOR SELFPROTECTION. IT IS AN ENEMY-NATION, AGAINST ALL MANKIND, WHOS IDEOLOGY DEMANDS VICTORY AND WORLD RULE. THEIR WEPONS IS FOR CONQUESTS NOT FOR SELFPROTECTION. THE SAME HOLDS TRUE OF IRAN. BY JERK !!!. Arn.

10. North Korea greater threat than Iran
Chris   (07.24.10)
I have no desire for war, but I have to say that North Korea should be considered for attack far more than Iran. North Korea has threatened to use nuclear weapons if a military exercise between South Korea and the USA goes ahead. This threat is extremely out of proportion. Rather than China telling South Korea and the USA not to stir up trouble, China should be agreeing that military action needs to be taken against Korea. If we are to have stability we need to get rid of the leaders of unstable countries. I'm sure that the poor North Koreans do not want any more suffering.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.24.10)
I think you mean "voracious." For someone who purports to come from an English-speaking country, you aren't all that well-versed in the language. 1. Quizzical? Hmm. Not the word I'd have chosen, but .... the instant North Korea started to help Syria build a nuclear reactor, it became very much Israel's business. That said, "friendly regime?" Friendly to whom? Besides which, in case you haven't noticed, North Korea has been in the throes of a famine that has gone on for years and claimed several million lives. They cannot even feed themselves, let alone defend themselves. You demonstrate, not surprisingly, an abysmal lack of knowledge as to how American foreign aid to Israel is structured. The military credits of which you speak are required to be spent in the United States -- thus benefiting the United States worker and taxpayer. There are back-end provisions which require Israel to share all improvements to the weapons systems with the (American) manufacturers. These improvements have been vast, and they have been shared. 2. I suggest nothing of the sort. Neither do I think he should back down from the uber-aggressive stance that North Korea has articulated. I remember all too well the USS PUEBLO. We should have destroyed North Korea then. Do I know North Korea's military capability? I have some idea; no one really knows all that much about North Korea. What I do know is that if their military capacity were as good as you suggest, they would have charged across the DMZ by now. I didn't know you were an expert on American lobbies. What do you think of the NRA? Or the AAA? How about the AACL? AARP? MADD? Yeah. That's what I thought. You're just another chattering parrot that throws out wild accusations not based in actual knowledge. For shame. 3. Nothing illegal about weapons sales. And I must say that Israel is far more responsible with respect to which countries she sells weapons systems to than any other country on the face of the earth. Including yours.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.24.10)
Arn, if North Korea thought for a moment that it could prevail over South Korea, it would have stormed over the border long ago. I agree with you that the U.S. has been sitting idle too long. The U.S. should have destroyed North Korea following the taking of the USS PUEBLO, even though at the time the U.S. was heavily embroiled in Vietnam, and North Korea was a toady of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union would not have done anything to stop the U.S. -- they had their hands full with rebellion in Czechoslavakia and near rebellion in Poland. The brinksmanship we now see has been building for a long time, Arn. That is why the United States has very quietly nearly doubled its troop strength in South Korea. Something is going to happen -- North Korea is starving to death. Not slowly, either.

The mad dog was brought into being by China, its China's responsibility to free humanity from this monstrous Regime, dear leader should be given an ultimatum by China, reform,or we will stop providing you with fuel, and if Iran will provide you with oil we will sink the tankers, china depends on exports,if people will stop buying Chinese products because of their support for North Korea ,the Chinese will wake up.

What you suggest is laughable at best. Not in your wildest dreams will China lift a finger against North Korea. Actually, they may come to her defense. If North Korea is defeated, that means that South Korea will become Korea. No more north. That means that China would have a Western type democracy on her borders. WOW, I am certainly glad you are not in our State Department!

I agree with you about the USS Pueblo. 2 books you might find of interest. "All Hands Down: The True Story Of The Soviet Attack On The USS Scorpion" This book starts out with the story of the Pueblo and goes on to tell the truth about the loss of the USS Scorpion in 1968. It makes mention of another book of interest titled: "Red Star Rogue: The Untold Story Of A Soviet Submarine's Nuclear Strike Attempt On The U.S." This attempt also in 1968 preceded the sinking of the Scorpion and and these events are related. The Soviet submarine was later recovered by the Glomar Explorer which you may remember hearing about in the 1980's.

Arn, the top think thanks in the world were certain that five Arab armies would obliterate the fledgling State of Israel. Didn't happen. The predicted the same thing in 1967. Didn't happen. Nixon more than half-hoped that Egypt and Syria would finish Israel off in 1973. Didn't happen. War is not mathematics; you cannot predict outcomes because it is hard to factor motivation. Motivation is occasionally more valuable than skill or sophisticated weapons. A handful of starving Jews with only handguns stopped the Germans in their tracks in the Warsaw Ghetto, and held them off for months. What think tank could have predicted that? G-d bless you, too, Arn.

You make me laugh with your non acceptance of facts. 1.Stating Syria had a nuclear reactor is pure garbage where’s the proof? An old storage factory bombed by Israel in the desert please. So secret it was only protected by a camel, 2.You do suggest Obama isn’t good for Israel especial highlighting his middle name. This is what I call subtle racism. Was Obama endorsed by AIPAC Sarah? Answer the question. Yes Korea has been in a famine for years due to sanctions and America’s unwillingness to make peace with them! So they would not hesitate to retaliate If attacked. They have asked America for security guarantees and fuel aid only to be promised something and given nothing. 3.The military aid given to Israel is for free. You have to buy American goods and?? You act as If Israel is doing America a favour in acquiring endless supplies of free weapons at the cost of American taxpayers. 4.Yes I am well aware of the lobby groups in the USA and how their influence affects American foreign policy so are a lot of American academics even Jewish ones!! Often to the detriment of American interests. Stating Israel is a moral supplier of weapons to African countries really demonstrates how brainwashed or deluded you are.
25. #23 Nixon sent massive aid to Israel in 1973
bob ,   NZ   (07.25.10)
Nixon's response to the 1973 attack on Israel by Soviet-supplied arab states was an airlift to Israel of 27,900 tons of urgently needed munitions and equipment plus 56 combat aircraft. At 815 sorties I think it was the biggest airlift of military assistance in US history. I think America deserves some credit!

1. They were building one, Chris. Even the IAEA acknowledged as much. But you, with absolutely no knowledge of Middle Eastern geopolitcs, disagree, so that makes you correct and everyone else wrong, is that what you're saying? LOL! 2. Actually, I would hate Hussein Obama if he were purple, pink, Christian or Jewish. He's a terrible president. He is bad for the United States. He's a fraud, and a phony. Yes, AIPAC supported his election. Won't happen again. I agree with you that famine in North Korea has been devastating and that the United States hasn't helped what with its embargo and naval blockade. However, I suggest you google "USS PUEBLO." That will explain a great deal. 3. Chris, clearly you do not understand how American foreign aid to Israel is structured. So, for the umpteenth time, here we go: (a) A small portion takes the form of interest-bearing cash loans. Only two countries in the world can boast a perfect repayment record. Finland is one. Israel is the other. (b) A somewhat larger portion takes the form of military credits. These credits must be spent in the United States, as I explained, and carry back-end provisions, as I have also explained. (c) By far and away the largest portion of aid takes the form of joint-venture investment capital. The benefits that have accrued to mankind as a result are truly astonishing. Do you carry a mobile phone, Chris? You have a US-Israel joint venture to thank for it. Has anyone near and dear to you been diagnosed with cancer in the last twenty years or so? Odds are that if they underwent chemotherapy, the protocol with which they are being treated was the result of one of those joint ventures. The list goes on and on, Chris. Incredible leaps in both computer hardware and software applications. Facial recognition software. Mass spectronomy. Magnetic resonance imaging. And the foregoing represents just a tiny fraction of the benefits which the world has derived from U.S. - Israeli joint ventures. 4. I'm glad you recognize that AIPAC is one of hundreds, if not thousands, of American lobbies. It isn't even one of the largest. Oh, so you want to discuss morality? Australia supplies arms to the Sudan, Chris. It supplies arms to Afghanistan, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia. It also supplies arms to East Timor. It also supplies arms to China. So you don't really want to discuss "morality" here, Chris -- you're stepping into quicksand. Have a really nice day.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.25.10)
Not quite, Bob. In fact, the United States deliberately held up needed spare parts. It was Israel's experience in 1973 that caused the munitions and armaments industry to really take off and grow. Israel did not want to ever again be dependent on another country for its survival. Do you know when the United States provided Israel with the needed spare parts (actually, they didn't "provide" them -- that implies a gift. They sold them to Israel) -- I suppose you don't. I will tell you. When Israel had encircled the entire Egyptian Third Army; when Israel had completed a bridge across the Suez Canal and stood poised on the West Bank of the Canal, ready to march on Cairo. When Israel had beaten the Syrians back and had Damascus in its gunsights. That's when the United States came up with the spare parts. They didn't want Israel capturing an Arab capital. In this instance, Bob, the United States deserves no credit whatsoever. They were not coming to the aid of a staunch ally -- they were playing geopolitical craps. Oh -- they were a little concerned that Israel might introduce a nuclear solution. By the way -- chuckle -- you don't need 815 sorties to provide 27,900 tons of anything. Unless, that is, you're flying the stuff over in two-seat Cessnas. Check your facts. You can load 27,900 tons on five Hercules transports. 815 sorties. That's rich!
