1. disgusting......
mattan ,   usa   (08.06.10)
to have jews acting like the governments of iran or saudi arabia is disgusting. god gave us free will. maybe the haredi should move to an arab country they would feel more comfortable.
2. the spies from God
Rahel   (08.06.10)
so now there is the religious spying on citizens- "Committee to Preserve Sanctity"- sure- what is next- public stoning? In free countries this type of surveillance is restricted to police and secret services- but then Israel is not a free country anymore- it is held hostage by religious fanatics...
3. And the "PRIVACY" law ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.06.10)
No photographer can make photos of only charidi , technically it's almost impossible , certainly in hughe crowded events . And the organisers participating in this ? I'm waiting that some organisation files a lawsuit against this .
4. big brother, i mean, big rabbi is watching

5. Nice photo !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.06.10)
Of Puyol kissing Xavi after he made the winnig goal in the final of world cup . And Pique is looking on . All three players of Barcelona FC . People have to know something in every field , even if it's no so important
6. To #1 etc.
Loyal Jew ,   Israel   (08.06.10)
Yes, G-d gave us free will. He also gave us laws. Laws need enforcement and, in turn, enforcers. Since Israeli law enforcement ignores G-d's laws, these people stepped into the breach. Bless them.
7. oh 4 goodness sakes! what is this nit-pickin' about!
(08.06.10)
The deeper in the dark you place people the more they are going to want to get out of those dark places or they may choose to stay there and misbehave sexually! Humans including Haredim need private breathing space!
8. Laura again...
Ariel ,   São Paulo - Brazil   (08.06.10)
Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that as an observant Orthodox Jew, she holds that homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned in any circumstance. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet. Dear Dr. Laura: Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to follow them. a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense. d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians? e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here? h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die? i) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves? j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev. 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) I do look forward to your enlightenment regarding the questions that puzzle me. Then I shall pass them along to others who may appreciate your moral leadership. Sincerely.
9. they should send some too in night bars ...

10. #6 Love of Hashem won't come out of a stick dear !!
aviG   (08.06.10)
if Haredim are incapable of transmitting the respect of G.d's laws (not talmudic laws) from the heart, they should be ashamed to look in a mirror, I say !
11. 6 , those "laws" go against our liberty
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.06.10)
And those guys who photography people too . They act AGAINST the PRIVACY laws of the STATE . And the STATE has to be obeyed by everyone ! god laws are only for "believers" not for NORMAL citizens
12. # 1 They won't move
Sagi   (08.06.10)
but I shall, and many more like me. When a war comes we shall have bearded wonders joining battle with a book in one hand and the other adjusting the prayer shawl and there wiil be "time out" for putting on those strange leather straps which will no doubt scare the enemy into surrender. This country is being finished off by these strange folk.
13. # 6 You are an
Sagi   (08.06.10)
imbecile.
14. Yeshivas
Alon Frank ,   Ramat Beth Shemesh   (08.06.10)
If I were a yeshiva bochur,I would become a chiloni just because of this. You must approach them in a loving matter not like this.
15. Or La Goym
Ariel ,   São Paulo - Brazil   (08.06.10)
16. The 'modesty patrol' is disgusting....
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.06.10)
disgusting in Iran, disgusting in Saudi Arabia, and twice as disgusting in Israel. The population must stand up and beat the tar out of anyone belonging to this group of holier-than-thou sociopaths. The rabbis that sanction this behavior need a checkup from the neck up.
17. They Should Be Handing Out Burkas To Women, Too!
Sarah ,   Los Angeles   (08.06.10)
Or are these the same Ultra Orthodox Rabbis who have just recently outlawed JEWISH women wearing the Burka in Beit Shemesh? Can't have it both ways guys. "Modesty police", this is totalitarian facism hiding behind "religion". I wouldn't be surprised to see Orthodox kids leaving in droves even just on the principle of the thing.
18. freedom of choice
tzvi ,   tel aviv   (08.06.10)
another reason of why i left the charedi world.. they have no right to enforce their beleifs on anyone its up to the individual to decide how he or she wants to live their life.. they are not god's policeman nor did he employ them..
19. I used to in yeshiva
Maarten ,   Switserland   (08.07.10)
I remember that they didn't let us walk out to much in the center of town but since i don't adhere to this lifestyle, I forgot about this. I do think that it works both ways, yeshiva should have rules but for goodness sake, it's a football game, the final what is wrong with that?? i forget that it's getting worse and worse...i'm glad i'm not haredi anymore that's for sure
20. Why is Rabbi Mordechai Baloi blackmailing yeshiva candidates
JEWISH DOCTOR ,   NYC USA   (08.07.10)
CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR BY A RABBI IS STILL CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR AND IN A THEOCRACY he can pull that nonsense, but Israel is a DEMOCRACY and this RABBI needs to be censured, shunned, and fired....Israel does not need any more BLACKMAILERS then it already has. Especially BLACKMAILERS that hide in Rabbi's robes.
21. Bashing Haredim again
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (08.07.10)
Does a day go by that ynet doesn't find something to critisize Haredim?
22. Shades 1984
Michael ,   Netanya   (08.07.10)
So this is another step closer to haredi "big brother". Controlling who's a Jew, what we can see, eat or do. George Orwell would have been so proud!
23. Woohoo! I'd like to see some of those immodest photos!
Michael ,   Exile   (08.07.10)
Of course, they're probably just photos of men and women standing within ten meters of each other without a fence separating them.
24. News Flash- Haredim do not trust GOD...
Ron ,   Melborne, Australia   (08.08.10)
Interviewer: Dear Rabbi Baloi(ny) - surely GOD has the 'goods' on these guys with need for 'Secular Inventions' such as Cameras', motorcycle, etc - and also the ultimate blackmail tool (The day of judgment) - why do you feel you need to get involved ? - does it not potentially lead to a demarcation with dispute with GOD? Rabi Baloi(ny): Yes, some people still have these old fashioned ideas that GOD is omnipotent, all knowing ,seats in Judgment and the executioner. But we know that separation of power is critical so that it does result in abuses. We can't let GOD just do whatever he likes (e.g.wipe out any city wall just because someone blew a trumpet - think about the commission and paperwork costs imposed on the city engineer in those days). Now we have a better system. GOD can retain all his titles (omnipotent ,etc), but he must stay invisible, in he background (somewhere) and let us get on with the Job. Look how well this separation of power works and look at the stability it brought with it - I am the 10th generation to hold this high position. GOD you look after the next kingdom and we will look after our current Kingdom. Interviewer: Surly that might be viewed as self serving ? Rabi Baloi(ny): How dare you question the GOD !! I am but a humble servant of GOD and by attacking me you are attacking him.
25. # 3 ,...
split ,   USA   (08.08.10)
And the bad news is that they procreate 3 x faster than Israeli population (counting them) and over 4 x faster without them - They hate IDF uniform and the idea to support themself the old fashioned way, that is by a hard work ,... They're a time bomb planted there by our Creator - Start counting your days there and start packin' up ;) ,... Good luck Charlie ,...
26. Hypocrits
Loyal Jew ,   Israel   (08.08.10)
Seculars encourage obeying the law by kind persuasion only up to a point. Then they use surveillance, policing, arrests, and imprisonment. If so for laws that are made by man, not by G-d, all the more for G-d's laws.
27. As long as they are only after their own...
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (08.08.10)
...who cares!!! Let them live as they want and leave the likes of me alone! I always think of the late PM Begin's remarks on Sabra and Shatila at times like this. Good enough for me.
28. #26 Loyal Jew - talking of Gods law ?

29. the Torah allows us to go to Wine tasting events
Golan ,   modiin   (08.08.10)
the torah also allows us to go to unsegregated beaches the torah also forbids Rabbis from adding laws the tax payers should not be subsidizing this crap the religious should stop being sheep and read the Torah (that would be the chumash) for a change. and the Talmud (read it and stop falling in love with the shape of the Alef in worthless discussions) and you realize what Judaism IS and IS NOT.
30. Dorothy @ # 27 . Read my # 3
