A. ,   USA   (07.28.10)
4. Really ungracious of you, Dorothy #1:
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (07.28.10)
The boy serves in the IDF. He had a mishap and paid the price. Unlike Olmert, the child our our current PM serves in the IDF. He's under a magnifying glass, of course. I honour him as I honour all our young people who serve to defend me and my family, and, most importantly, my grandchildren. Thank you, Yair Netanyahu, and all the rest of you young people and your officers.
5. Y is this news?
(07.28.10)
This young man has the right to fulfill his military duty without the media riding on his back!
6. And your familial contribution is...?
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (07.28.10)
Yes. Yes. We know. You are seated on the left. And you hate Bibi, Sarah and their children because they are not leftists. Please remind me how you have positively made a contribution to the state and to the Jewish people. You or male gender members of your family served in a Sayeret Unit and were wounded in close personal cocmbat, or had a family member dies in an historic event of rescue in Africa. Right? Oh. Not right. Would it not be better to hit the showers(something usually badly needed by those on the left) and smoke something liberating, or sip something fruity. You "Rent" types seem to do that best. Thay and kvetch and spend others assets.
7. #1 you couldnt even finish the basic !!!!
(07.28.10)
8. Put him in jail
Eric..... ,   Israel...   (07.28.10)
9. He doesn't look mature.
David ,   NJUSA   (07.28.10)
I hope the Army doesn't indulge him. He looks spoiled and could use the discipline
10. STOP IT !
Benjamin   (07.28.10)
He is just a small boy.Dont expect great expectation over the boy , just because his father is the PM. and dont put the scope on him. He needs to grow up in a similar setting as any kids. It would post a psychological damage if you all single him out. please !
11. #7 and you say that because...?
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (07.28.10)
12. enough is enough
andrew ,   kano, nigeria   (07.28.10)
I am a nigerian and this is my first post here, i have been following news from israel since the age of 14 and i will like to make my first comment. it is not fair for ynet to make this news, there was a trespass and he was punished, why is then news when it is public knowledge that olmerts son did not serve, did ynet, haaretz or maariv blow up the news, i also tend to wonder on d release of this news timed with the poll published that israel hayom is now the no 1 paper in israel, please this young man should d be allowed to live his private life. pls dont attack the pm s family
13. #11 the answer is with #6

15. Dover Tzahal
Yisraeli   (07.28.10)
Whats a young pisher doing in dover tzahal straight after induction or tironut? Spokesmans office is meant for mature knowledgable english speaking staff. Right it was 'proteksia' that got him there. He shouldnt be there.
16. #14 - Vanya, why you are not fighting in Chechnya?
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (07.28.10)
The last I've heard - there are no Jewish soldiers in Aza
17. #12 Andrew: Objectivity at last!
David Olesker ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.28.10)
Do we have to go all the way to Nigeria to get a sensible comment on this non-story? (BTW I would need a lot of convincing that the absence of the Olmert's son from the ranks was news worthy either.) Well said Andrew, let's get back to the plot.
18. O c'mon you guys ,...
split ,   USA   (07.29.10)
I'm not Netanyahu's fan but this can happen to any one who's ready to pay the price for some extra time with the chick,...
19. That's a boy in the pic? are you kidding!
Joy ,   NJ.   (07.29.10)
20. @20 you forgot the INNER CHILD IN ALL of us. IN HIM TOO :-)
benamin ,   singapore   (07.29.10)
Isarel is not a easy place to grow, it has become very harsh and pressure pot ! Children get caught in the waves. We must make it easier for them not HAMMER THEM ! without apology ben singapore
21. poor kid!
Dave ,   Tel Aviv   (07.29.10)
I was late once, got a punishment, wasn't in the news!
22. Times have changed...
Malone ,   Hfx   (07.29.10)
I served 26 yrs in the army, not IDF,but all armies are basically the same... If we were a "number of hours late"(awol)...there was no appeal process, you were guilty and usually jailed.. However,he is young and I commend him for at least serving inn the IDF.
23. PROTEKZIA ???
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL/USA   (07.29.10)
A few days of Toranut in the Mitbach would have served a better purpose, he would be confined to base, given chance to peel loads of potatoes, and help clean up the heder ochel For an added thrill, cleaning the grease traps would have been the highlight of his stay
24. 14. why he is not fighting in Gaza?
split ,   USA   (07.29.10)
Because he have a "big shot" dad that got the means to send you or your kids there instead of him. Get it ??? ,... What do you call fighting ? Do you mean shelling an unarmed civilians from land , from the sea and from the air using drones or F16's ? Do you really think that your present political and military establishment is any different than the one that you left behind in your matushka or in my case in US ? In every country you'll find an elite a cannon meat and a lot of useful idiots like our friend from Petach Tikva. Trust me.
25. In the US Navy, not showing up and being unlocatable
Rivkah   (07.29.10)
got pharmacy officer Coy Lane promoted to Captain! When I worked at NAS Miramar Clinic (now MCAS Miramar) the pharmacy Captain T.J. Summerour, MSC, USN, would call asking if anyone knew where Lieutenant Commander Coy Lane was. Wasn't there and was no where else to be found unless someone called his home. HM2 Larry Alvarez who worked at another clinic where Lane was supposed to be, hated him. But Captain Summerour thought Coy Lane was the best there was since he could outfox Summerour in disappearing acts. The shirkers in the US Navy Medical Department got promoted, not the workers. Glad the IDF has better priorities.
26. 10 days is 10 days PM's son or not.
Israel   (07.29.10)
27. why is this in the news
(07.29.10)
if he is treated like any other soldier, why must it be in the news he was a few hours late? any other soldier's story of being late is also published?
28. wow that is tough
ghostq   (07.29.10)
I think that army service isn't for me, other wise I might end up in confinement on daily basis, I hate when someone give me orderes, never could stand it.
29. Unfortunately, he inherited his mother's looks.
Talula ,   Israel   (07.29.10)
I hope that picture of him wasn't taken within the last few months - if it was - he should be given another 10 days in the base and told to get his hair cut. Of course looks aren't everything - but Sara is ugly and she's not a nice person either.
30. #28 It's tough for our boys when they are first enlisted
Talula ,   Israel   (07.29.10)
As well as the rules and regulations, my son had to walk SIXTY kilometers at the end of his basic training - with heavy gear on his back. I cried for an hour just looking at his face! It's not easy for our boys............... or their mothers :(
