1. Dont allow these corporate thieves keep you hostage
Al   (07.29.10)
Tell them to piss up a row and take their jobs elsewhere. They are going to do it in any case. Big business have been screwing over western governments forever. Let them goto India and live in third world conditions while battling 100F heat.
2. Best place for INTEL factory is TURKEY
Tayfun_Turkey   (07.29.10)
-There is considerable size of expert workpower cheaper than elsewhere -Lucrative State incentives - Central place closer to Russia and EU where most expert workforce around neighbouring countries willing to come and work -No obsatcle to work in saturdays -More muslim friendly -Intel may give a muslim friendly signal to rest of world offseting detrimental effects having factories in Israel annoying Arabs -EU custom union member state which will provide custom advantage
3. Is Intel succumbing to Arab pressure?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.29.10)
The Arab world probably spends billions on computers which use Intel processors so it wouldn't surprise me if Intel has been "persuaded" to look elsewhere for the production of chips. I would be interesting to know how many shares in Intel are held by Arab and Muslim investors. On the same subject one may also ask why it took Apple so long to allow an Apple dealership, IDigital, to open in Israel and why their stores are no called "Apple Stores". It should be noted that the Apple Ipad and the Iphone 4 are still not available in Israel. Many Israelis seem to have forgotten the days of the Arab boycott which prevented most Japanese Car manufactures from exporting to our country and other Japanese products were brought in via Europe.
4. Were it not for Israel there might be no Intel
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (07.29.10)
It was Israeli expatriate engineers like Dov Frohman, Raffi Klein and Dov Moran that created Intel's early breakthrough products, the EPROM and their first microprocessor. It was Frohman who persuaded Intel to establish the Haifa design center and their first fab in Jerusalem. It was that Haifa center that developed the Centrium and every processor family since, including the Core architecture that basically saved the company. (Signor and Singer's "Startup Nation" tells how the Haifa team had to fight for that new design.) And, with respect to our friends in India, they were tasked with designing an advanced server chip a few years ago, but their product didn't work out. But Israel also benefitted from Intel's presence - not just because it provided a model for a well run company, but in sparking a lot of ancillary investment in the high-tech sector.
5. To #2 Tayfun
mark ,   new york usa   (07.29.10)
The Turkish workforce lacks the brainpower and advancement to be an asset to Intel. Also Intel doesnt want to stop 5 times a day so you can pray, not to mention for the an entire month during ramadan...or for the 3hrs daily lunch breaks the Turks take to drink coffee and smoke. Productivity is not one of your strenghts that's why high quality jobs are leaving Turkey.

Muslims: 1.4 billion people (20% of world's population): 6 Nobel Prizes Jews: 12 million people (0.2% of world's population): 165 Nobel Prizes Any questions?

The Turkish workforce lacks the brainpower and advancement to be an asset to Intel.
8. #6 Be cautious
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.29.10)
In their never-ending quest to believe they are superior against all infidels, which goes hand in hand with their obsession for Israeli 'criminality', they will start accusing Jews of controlling Nobel. The inherited easy way to explain their lack of positive contribution to the world, in spite of their overwhelming numbers.
9. don't respond to that hateful Tayfun
David ,   NJUSA   (07.29.10)
you only argue with a wall
10. #2 thanks for the laugh but you are right in figs you lead,
ralph   (07.29.10)
best figs in the world.
11. #5 - Have you every been to Israel?
dorothy friend ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.30.10)
The Turkish workforce lacks the brainpower and advancement to be an asset to Intel. Also Intel doesnt want to stop 5 times a day so you can pray, not to mention for the an entire month during ramadan...or for =================== Brainpower remark -- are we talking about the Master Race here? I thought we Jews were only the Chosen people, not the MR. 5x prayers are not all during work hours, and I have seen people pray during work hours -- the prayers are rather short, like ciggie breaks. And they don't pollute the work environment. And Muslems work, and work hard during Ramadan. Unlike the Jews who have demanded a shortened Daylight Savings Time because their tummies rumble on Yom Hakippurim. ======================= the 3hrs daily lunch breaks the Turks take to drink coffee and smoke. Productivity is not one of your strenghts that's why high quality jobs are leaving Turkey. This is why I ask if you have ever been here. There are still places, albeit not many, that close mid-day here, and even worse, a lot of workers both in the public and private sector who take breaks like that even if the workplace isn't closed between 1-4. Try making your arguments without blind racism.
12. You points... some good
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (07.30.10)
But without Israel's R&D, Intel's future will not be as bright as it is now. With Turkish R&D all Intel will have is a blame game of why the new product didnt work... and why at the end of the day, it is Israel's fault that Intel lost millions. For it is always Israel's fault when Turkey faces any problems.... from global warming, to melting icebergs... iceberg goldberg who cares... its the Jews fault
13. Israeli nonzionist experts are not excluded woking in Turkey
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (07.30.10)
Many Israeli experts may come to Turkey to support Intel Turkey BASE Intel in Turkey might be a strategic deploment not excluding some Israelis want to come

No one who has not completely lost his mind wants to work in the land of the Turkeys.
16. How about moving plants back to US? we need the jobs too
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (07.30.10)
The IC chip was in part invented here in Dallas by Texas Instruments and MCI(Dallas based) was a great company here with 80% of internet backbone until World Com took control and destroyed it. General Dynamics designed and build F-111s and F-16s here(Fort Worth, next door) until Lockheed Martin took it over. Texas has the work force but Gov. is lacking at times and with 4 major oil company based here they have a lot of pull. Dallas/Ft.Worth area is bigger in size and population than Israel but its Gov. lacked insight, don't let that happen in Israel. It maybe better for Israel to give Intel some up front to keep the job for years to come.
17. Intel, you're welcome to move anytime, but...
Manic Drummer ,   Madison, WI, USA   (07.30.10)
...Israel won't be the one hurting. Not to lay any of that "Lord's vengeance" muck on you, but it will take much more than just one multinational company to intimidate Israel.
18. #17 I notice that you are writing that from the USA!!!!
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (07.30.10)
19. to intel and tayfun
Barney ,   USA   (07.30.10)
intel you know you choose Israel for its brainpower. to tayfun if they were making suicide vests or specializing in terrorist aid or radical islam then they should go to turkey.

And Israeli scientists developed the architecture of the Core 2 and Core i3/5/7 processors. Without them you could use your Pentium processors for frying eggs.
21. To Tayfun

Turkey, greatest country in the world All other countries are run by little girls Turkey, number one exporter of potassium Other countries have inferior potassium

Fyodor ,   Ukraine-Israel   (07.31.10)
Dear Taifun, Intel is not involved in sewing slippers. You are confused a little!
