split ,   USA   (07.30.10)
I would like to remind you (all the posters and imposters from NATO countries) that Iran was first one in line when we asked Muslim countries for help to stabilise Afganistan in 2002 after Taliban's defeat.
33. #19 We shall see Leo,we shall see.

34. @Mr Green(brown fits you better though)
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (07.30.10)
Anyways, honestly,do you really think we give a damn about what you and your ilk are thinking? I mean come on. If you had some guts in you,you wouldn't be talking to me all the way in London. Your not even man enough to fight me face to face. What's the matter?scared??? I wont bite, don't worry. The majority of Iranians pretty much enjoy their life and have no complaints. Come see for yourself. Freedom at its best! Rest assured that your GREEN REVOLUTION came to an end around a year ago(perhaps when you were arranging to move to London?). And guess what,we made sure it stays that way.
35. #19 Leo,here's a better idea.
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (07.30.10)
I'm gonna give it another 30 years from now. How about we bet on it? After all,you are certain about what the future holds, right? We've just got started Leo,and we have no plans to leave any time soon.

Mr Green (Brown) ,   Manchester   (07.30.10)
Hi Arash Q: Anyways, honestly,do you really think we give a damn about what you and your ilk are thinking? A:Dont forget Arash your views are in the minority. But what pray makes you so sensitive about open discussions of the elected leadership? Q: I mean come on. If you had some guts in you,you wouldn't be talking to me all the way in London. Your not even man enough to fight me face to face A: Not really a sensible way to debateyour side of the argument? Remember Arash you may want to control what Iranians say but you cannot control what Iranians think Q: What's the matter?scared??? I wont bite, don't worry. A: Absolutely. So are millions of Iranians who have no voice and too scared to exercise any freedom of expression. Like it or not Arash Iran is a now all but a Police State Q: The majority of Iranians pretty much enjoy their life and have no complaints. Come see for yourself. Freedom at its best! A: Yup the favoured elite, the RGs - but for the rest Arash nobody dares to complain - thats my point. Just reread your comments - totally violent, uncompromising, fanatical thats not representative of the Iranian people Q:Rest assured that your GREEN REVOLUTION came to an end around a year ago(perhaps when you were arranging to move to London?). And guess what,we made sure it stays that way. A: What every Iranian wants is a return of fundamental rights of freedom of expression, a separation of religion and state, a fresh election without hindrance and the removal of that mad buffoon Ah MAD injead from office. Easy peasy and no one wants to achive this by any other means than peacefully that unites all Iranians everywhere

40. Iran is the best contry
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.30.10)
Iran is of course the best country today. Provided you remove that idiotic bastard, his gang and Khomeini from the power and berry them all 100 feet below the earth. He is spending all your money on nothing; and whatever he thinks he is developing will turn in to ash one day. Trust me; you will be the poorest country on this earth, with no one helping you. Best for you is bringing back Shah
41. Arash @ 33, It is not exactly the answer I hoped for.
leo ,   usa   (07.30.10)
You are Iranian (by claim) and I expect you to know subject better than myself. "We shell see" is something I am quite capable of doing on my own. I was hoping you will tell me why you would agree or disagree with me. "I'm gonna give it another 30 years from now. How about we bet on it?" Again, you may be right, but I want to hear why. I am not here to bet, betting is useless in this case. I am here to learn and you disappointed me, sorry to say.
42. Inside the box
Pedram Joon ,   Melbourne, Australia   (07.30.10)
The problem with young Arash's point of view is that he is sitting inside the box. Therefore you have no perspective Arash. You need to stand outside the box and look in, like the rest of the wold looking at Iran and thinking what a great country it could be. Right now it is an underacheiver. And the reason is very simple because of muslims. It's funny wherever muslims go everything turns to s#@%. Everything! Don't forget it was the great Zoroastrians who ruled the Persian empire, not rubbish muslims. And that my friends is a fact.
43. #32, not even vaguely true.

Qatar manned a huge base for the US army and airforce. Pakistan was all sweetness and light, as Syria in 2001 immediately after 9/11. But hey, who cares about facts right?
44. dont try bring down the regime we need stabilty not democrac
zionist forever   (07.30.10)
We got rid of the Keiser in Germany after WW1 and Hitler filled his shoes. In Japan after WW2 we intentionally left the emperor in charge and we had stability. Israel has never tried to get rid of the Assads because they are the enemy we know and we can handle. Who cares if Syrians suffer they are not our problem regional stability is. After the 1991 Gulf War a decision was taken to keep Saddam Husain in power but controlled through sanctions like the oil for food program and no fly zones. The Iraqis didn't like it but we had stability. In the 2003 Iraq war we decided to get rid of the strong man and we got chaos and now Iraqis and the rest of the world is in a more dangerous position than when Saddam was running the show. Europe is full of these things happening where we got rid of the king and got chaos. The current Iranian regime is trouble but better to keep them in power and controlled then encourage overthrowing them because we all think it would be great if Iran could be a democracy. Mousavi who claimed to be a champion of democracy was nothing but an opportunist telling people what they wanted to hear to build up his popularity. During the election he was a nobody but the election was rigged just to make sure and he became a hero overnight.. Long before Ahmadinejad came along Mousavi was in politics and he was promoting the idea of Iran getting nukes. Lets stop trying to be champions of democracy and promote it world wide let countries develop their own systems. If its dictaitorship or royalty fine as long as there is stability let the people decide who is going to lead them. If at some point they decide to get rid of their dictaitors and chose democracy let them do it in their own time in their own way. Regional stability through a controled Iran is better than trying to get rid of the mullahs.
45. Israeli strike is necessary and would weaken Iranian regime.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.30.10)
The risk is far too great for Israel to wait for Iran's regime to self destruct. Even many of Israel's Arab neighbours know that a nuclear Iran is unacceptable. Israel MUST destroy Iran's nukes. The worst case scenario of an Israeli attack on Iran's nukes is infinitely better than the best case scenario of a nuclear Iran. Moreover, a successful Israeli strike would weaken the Iranian regime. It's many internal opponents would be thrilled to see it discredited. They would not rally to it's support.
46. Maybe - But maybe not
Ken ,   Australia   (07.30.10)
I understand your point, but dont under estimate these crazy iran muslims, if they are at the point of breaking up which is a very complex position for iran, hopefully for the better, but in the process you will see the vacume , just like in Iraq. This vacume is and will be the darkest hours of the region , the most dangerous of all times , if these mullahs want to go out with a bang, then it will be a nightmare possibility. Hopefully they dont intend to go down fighting with every thing they have. If they really are this weak right at this point in time, they will make a bomb, so if this is the case they will accellerate this scenario. So as they know, where will the west really be on the iranians chess board.

Please save your daughter. Mahmood like donkeys so he can ride and use them. Please send your donkey. Majority of population in Iran do not give a crap about Gaza, Palestinians or any Arabs. Please do not take it personal. This is the way Iranians are. They like themselves a lot more. Take care of your own life and try to find your own happiness with what you have.

51. to # 9, and those who hate Iran
Arabi ibn Arabi ,   the free world   (07.31.10)
first of all, you Zionists are used to the Arab traitors including our dictators and their allies. Iran put Iranian interest at first. having a nuclear weapon will benefit Iran military and economically because no one will dare tell Iran what do anymore. all your sanctions benefited the Iranians more and more. they became independent and self sufficient… I wish Arabs learn from Iran.. Iran became the bone in the US and “Israel’s” throat. for Sunni vs. shia’a card it’s been burned. our God, Quran, and Prophet are the same; importantly, our enemies are the same. today majority of Arab (people not leaders) sunnis support Iran. if Iran wants to take over us we rather live under Iran than under Arab dictators (western governments puppets). Iran will prevail against all its enemies including our Arab dictators. the fact is the Zionists’ regime is near collapsing and couldn’t do anything to Iran. you think by have a shameful and unjust peace treaty with Arab dictators you will win the Arab people…the good news is the that our Arab dictators aren’t legitimate representative of us Arabs; therefore, any peace treaty with them is not valid….. Arabs and Iranains are brothers no matter what you say or do..Long live Iran and the honorable free people of the world. we have faith in you Iran!

Agree. Strike Iran NOW. Everyday increases the danger to israel.
53. Regime will implode
ISLAMIST IRAN LAST   (07.31.10)
Iran was no. 1 during the Shah but no longer. Now after 30 years it is at the bottom 10% of impoverished countries. Any outside induced jolt of this rotten Islamist entity will cause it to crumble into dust. Then true Iranian people will again rise from dust, abandon foreign Cult of Death forced upon them by Arabs, return to Zoroastrianism, and find their well deserved place among civilized humane nations. #47 objecting to this proves that she is an Arab villain.
54. You are so Idiot and premitive !!!
Isaac from Israel ,   Israel   (07.31.10)
only an arab person can say something good about a regime which cos his people to go to hell day by day..... what will be the end of you poeple ??? you will never be normal ???
55. Get your facts straight 43

They're not doing this for nothing ,... We pay and arm Qatar for the base we pay and arm Pakistan also keep quiet abot their nukes ,... Iran didn't ask or get a penny for their efforts.
56. #53 amen!
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.01.10)
And then Iran will stop the US-Arab domination of the real nations of the Middle East.
57. overly "optimistic"
JS   (08.01.10)
In the era of globalization the US and its allies will not succeed in isolating Iran. Furthermore, repressive military regimes can hold on for a long time ie North Korea. So I don't think your conclusions are justified.
58. China invests 40'000'000'000$
michael ,   zurich, switzerland   (08.01.10)
40 billion in Chinese investment into the Iranian commodity industry is a lot of money. Maybe the Chinese have Confutsius, but they surely lack the wisdom of Guy Bechor. Poor China.
59. :: #57 Iran is not N. Korea
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.01.10)
Although a few details like a desire to have nuclear weapons are similar by in large a comparison between the two is irrelevant. Unlike hermetically closed N. Korea's subdued/submissive population and absolute government control over all walks of life, in Iran the majority people are highly educated, connected to the outside world and express their dissatisfaction with the regime in massive rallies. There are also powerful trade unions, student organizations and merchant associations, all independent of the government that will support the regime as long as their interests are not harmed that looks shakier by the day. None of this exists in your N. Korea. There are strong disagreements within the Iranian ruling class and within its most loyal supporters in the IRG military about the current policies, decadence, corruption, inhumanity and criminality of this regime. What is still holding it together are the common business interests of the ones at the top, but this is a already a weak bond that grows weaker with every passing day. The Mullah's regime is on it's last legs. All is need is a small push from the outside and it will collapse like a house of cards.
