1. Trouble...
Ariel ,   São Paulo - Brazil   (07.29.10)
Intimate things like being gay or being religious when exposed in public make trouble ....
2. Marzel
Sagi   (07.29.10)
The greatest disaster and the worst disease ever to afflict Mankind is religion. It is definitely contagious as has been proven by the multitudes and masses of feeble minded idiots who have killed and been killed throughout the ages all for the sake of "God".
3. The religious are sooooo pathetic
Talula ,   Israel   (07.29.10)
If they were in the slightest bit knowledgeable about the world around them, they would understand more – but they don’t . Endless psychological research has shown that men who shout anti-gay slurs coupled with a strong resistance to accept gay men , are afraid of their own feelings - which means our capital probably has the largest in the closet gay community in the world.
4. Courageous..
Fadi, Amsterdam ,   The Netherlands   (07.29.10)
Those Jewish protesters could protest together with their Palestinian enemies which could lead to the end of the conflict and to eternal peace in the middle east!!! hahaha No seriously,,, I applaud the LGBT community in Israel and "Palestine" (there are many gay palestinians in Israel, you know...) for their courage!
5. Jerusalem is not the place to hold these things
zionist forever   (07.29.10)
Jerusalem is supposed to be the holy city. Its tourism image is based on religion the gay pride parades say immoral. A very large percentage of its residents are offended over things like this and they LIVE in Jerusalem they are not just homosexual activists. If they want to hold these things then limit it to Tel Aviv ... Tel Aviv does want to be the tourist hot spot for gay tourists anyway. If Tel Aiviv wants to be a gay paradise and Jerusalem wants to be a religious paradise why is it the concerns of the residents and image of the city considered secondry issues? HOLDING THESE THINGS IN JERUSALEM IS IMMORAL
6. Misuse of resources
Nick ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (07.29.10)
How many hungry children could have been fed with the money that was spent on this parade? How many abused women could have received professional help? These events are unnecessary. Hardly anybody really cares what the parade participants do in their private lives. Why act like militant missionaries? Only to incite others who disagree with their choices.
7. "5 the capital of Israel belongs to all citizens
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (07.29.10)
..and that includes hardworking people who serve in the army and aren't living that the expense of the rest of the country, causeing Jerusalem to have the honor of being one of the poorest cities in the country,.
8. I fully support the parade. I should have been there
but I'm too lazy :(   (07.29.10)
The donkeys here are the religious people who don't think with their head and feel with their heart but choose to take the easy path and obey what people (and not god) thought and wrote thousands of years ago. The bottom line is - every one should be able to live as they please as long as they don't force anybody else to do something they don't want to do and as long as they don't physically or verbally hurt anyone. Any compassionate intelligent person would realize that homosexuals have every right to live and love as they please. But religious people are very often not very compassionate, nor intelligent...

How many hungry can de given food wirth the money needed to retain those charidi stone throwers by police officers ? to repair the damage to private and public property ? To give care to those cyclists whot were wounded by tyhe same charidim ? Here it's a peacefull parade , that police officers have to protect from violent extremists .
10. to 5 , zionist forever . It's their Capital TOO
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.29.10)
Immoral ? peacefull people demostrating for their RIGHTS in their CAPITAL ? For you it's maybe very moral to hurt motocyclist ? to set trash bins ablaze ? to throw acids on "immodest" women ? To cause damage to public and private propertyies ? That's your morality maybe ? A Holy city , only for those who fought for her liberation .The charidim have to shut up , they did'nt contribute at all to our Capital's liberation [ maybe some did somethiong , only a drip in the sea ]
11. "Not in Jerusalem"
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (07.29.10)
There people who are bigoted against gay people just like there people who are bigoted against blacks, Russians, Jews, and other groups. But the most inane and stupid argument I've ever heard comes from fools who think political protest marches should not be held in the capital of Israel because it's a religious place. This defeats the purpose of Jerusalem as a capital. If it is such a religious city that politics should not enter the place move the capital to where the rest of the world would prefer it anyways-Tel Aviv. Give Jerusalem to the religious and abandon it as secular seat of government. It can still be a religious capital, but then who cares if it's divided. It will be unified again when the Mashiach comes

Dan ,   Tel Aviv   (07.29.10)
Why should the city residents dictate what is in effect a protest of national policy. You are right let's isolate Jerusalem and leave it to the majority there. Move the current government to Tel Aviv and let Jerusalem defend itself as a city-state like the Vatican. That way resources wont be wasted on protecting people from child abusing, wife beating, scoff law, garbage burning, draft dodging bigots like you. Why do we keep sending police to stop burning garbage cans and wasting money on trying to appease Black Hatters. If Jerusalem is our national capital it is supposed to be the focus of protests and parades of national interest to those holding them. That's called democracy. If you don't want that then you really don't want Jerusalem as part of Israel.
13. So much for being free to gays!
Mark ,   Netherlands   (07.29.10)
I'm no fan of the iranian regime or anything, how ever one has to look at his own back yard before criticizing others for their behavior towards a certain group of people. This would not place you in any position to be critic of the iranian regime(even if they use force to get rid of gays and you don't ).
14. Respecting our capital City?
Let Gays Live in ,   Peace - Israel   (07.29.10)
Only two months ago Haredi riots caused over two million shekels worth of damage - and they bitch about a peaceful gay parade? If it wasn't so sad it would be amusing.

NYC Girl   (07.30.10)
Apparently, you're allowing your hostility toward Israel to cloud your perceptions. Israel has every right to criticize the Iranian regime's treatment of homosexuals (which, by the way, includes executing them) the same way every other democracy has a right to do...even though my own country certainly has more than its share of homophobes.
16. mark from 13 -Your agenda specks volumes!
dalia   (07.30.10)
Comparing the situation of the GBLT in Iran and Israel is like comparing the Iranian niceties towards gays to the treatment in Netherlands (you don't have any homophobes, I'm sure..)... Hmm, maybe here's it's better now than at your homeland, come to think of it.. I hear you're not such a liberal place as you used to be.. Aren't people being murdered for making movies? How come YOU have the audacity to talk about tolerance and such, if already questioning our right to criticize Iran? But -everyone has a right to criticize- a legal one, not sure moral. Apart from that, your ignoring of the facts for the sake of your warped agenda is too apparent to debate any further.

If they were in the slightest bit knowledgeable about the world around them, they would understand more – but they don’t . Endless psychological research has shown that SECULARS who shout anti-HAREDI slurs coupled with a strong resistance to accept HAREDIM , are afraid of their own feelings - which means TALULA probably has the largest GUILT AND JEALOUSY FOR THE HAREDI community in the world.
18. CHARLES
WISE DUDE   (07.30.10)
BUT IF IT WASN'T FOR HAREDIM YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN IN UGANDA SO ZIP IT.
19. Gay Parade in Jerusalem
Judy Cohen ,   Yoronto, Canada   (07.30.10)
When hostile elements have attacked the gay parade in Budapest, Hungary, decent, outraged people called them neo-Fascist hooligans. What shoild we call the same kind of intolerant, hostile hooligans in democratic Israel?
20. #9 #12
Nick ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (07.30.10)
The Gay community is often just as fanatical as any extreme Haredi, and equally intolerant of those who choose not to follow their lifestyle. You should be almost totally free to make your own choices about how you live your life, but not free to make choices for others, nor to engage in bullying, intimidating, and propaganda. Because your beliefs and lifestyle on built on sand (as are those of the extreme Haredi), neither of you are capable of thinking outside your prejudices, nor of tolerating those who disagree with you. Tel Aviv, the Gay City, is already the real center of political, economic, and cultural power here. The ruling elite here in Gay City has long been prepared to give Yerushalayim to the Jihadis in exchange for a piece of paper that will bring more war, not peace. On many levels, the proposal to abandon Yerushalayim has already been implemented. All that is left is to make it official policy. And then the Jihadis will turn their attention to Gay Tel Aviv. Hamas will end up dictating lifestyle policy. How can you not see that this is what will result from following your ideas? Live and let live. This is the best way. Stop getting in our face and get on with your lives.
21. [un]wise dude . 18 . That's not TRUE
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.30.10)
22. Pride?
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (07.30.10)
Can somebody explain to me what are gays proud of? If they demand to be treated the same that any other citizen, why the fuss of shouting to the world that you are gay? It's not logical! More than that, if a city like Jerusalem population by 75% opposes this kind of manifestations because they feel offended, why on earth should you impose shame on them? You want regulars to let you do your life, why don't you keep it to yourself? This parade is a sad carnival, made by sad people who are desperately in need of calling attention!
23. Nick ,the gays fanatics ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.30.10)
Fanatics for their rights , yes . But they will NEVER try to impose their lifestyle on anybody . Intolerant to those who choose not to follow their lifestyle ? give FACTS . Have they murdered someone because of being hetero ? Now you come with abandoning Yeroushalaim . Where is this related with the Gay parade ?
24. Wise dude
dan ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.10)
It's easy to think oneself wise amidst a sea of idiots. But even a wise idiot is still an idiot....if it weren't for the secular community who defend this land you'd be dead.
25. Judy Cohen
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.10)
We call them neo-fascist hooligans but we reward them with state money and a free pass from the army and prosecution for their actions...after all they are praying away our sins...
26. Ricardo -Yes Pride!
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (07.31.10)
The reason for the pride is to help bring pride to a community that is often served with abuse. It is to make a statement that gay people are supposed to be equally treated. It is to let the government know that to date there are still murders taking place just because someone is gay. There are still jobs being given to less qualified people because someone is perceived as gay. To date it is still acceptable to use the term gay, or homo as a derogatory epithet. So yes for all these struggles and the bigotry gay people overcome everyday they have a right to be proud and march in the capital of Israel demanding the Knesset hear them and work towards helping to heal the situation.
