3. Where shall I send flowers?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.31.10)
The Hamas military wing vowed that "this recent act of foolishness will not pass quietly." Oh, please. Make my day. He got his just desserts. Bring it on. It's a good day for terrorist scum to die.
4. Jacob kept his ground...
RudyFox ,   USA   (07.31.10)
"Nothing requires more vigour and unceasing exertion than wrestling. It is an emblem of the true spirit of faith and prayer. Jacob kept his ground; though the struggle continued long, this did not shake his faith, nor silence his prayer. He will have a blessing, and had rather have all his bone put out of joint than go away without one. Those who would have the blessing of Christ, must resolve to take no denial. The fervent prayer is the effectual prayer. The Angel puts a lasting mark of honour upon him, by changing his name." -Biblegateway dot com
5. His wife and 5 children where killed
Omri ,   Israel   (07.31.10)
A horrable world we live in but I cant say he didnt have it coming when he uses his own family as human shields. A shame how people will use their own familys to their own ends like that...
6. "SENIOR HAMAS MAN KILLED IN RAID"
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (07.31.10)

7. "The Act of Foolishness"
Jonathan   (07.31.10)
Hamas spokesman got it right for the first time: "This recent act of foolishness will not pass quietly." The missle on Friday was indeed one of the MOST stupid acts of 2010 from Hamas. Very well played. Now PLEASE try to send another please, while we're at it... Thank you Hamas 'leadership', running towards the stone age. Well done!
8. Hamas going Greener: For the Environment
Moti ,   Ashkelon   (07.31.10)
Guys, we need to thinkg more Green: Hamas: Since you are planning to fire more missles soon ('to retaliate'), would you terribly mind firing off the missiles right away while the airplanes are above you ? Please don't delay. The minute we kill one of your 'bright' Shahids, please fire off the missles right away... I'll explain the business justification: This way, it will save more fuel (taking off, landing, etc.), so as part of your general humanitarian acts (of firing missles at Israeli civilians), the world would probably be happy to declare that: "Hamas is pursuing a more earth friendly policy, by firing missles more often at Israel while the airplanes are above it, to save the environment, and not requiring the IDF to land, take off, land, take off in such infrequent cycles" p.s. I am so proud of the so called 'Popular Resistance Committees'. The finally in place Israeli policy against terror is going to make them SO popular that they will stop resisting...
9. Senior Hamas man.... #6
jo moor   (07.31.10)
Dont tell me you didnt know what he was doing in the field.......... he was sewing his oats ....... maybe in response to the lengerie displays now banned by "the party"
10. Kol HaKavod L'Tzahal! Yes! direct hit!
E. Peres   (07.31.10)
Upon reading this news I opened up my siddur and sang an extraordinary Hallel (Psalms 113 to 118) placing special emphasis on the words "Patchu lee Shaare Tzedek" (open for me the gates of Justice). This man lived in violence always attempting to murder as many Israelis as possible and now he has received his "just rewards" from God via his instrument - The IAF - the best little airforce in the whole wide world! And so Kol HaKavod to the men and women of the IAF! Kol HaKavod L'Tzahal!
11. Dont you mean a Hamass terrorist...not just an operative?
Jay3 ,   Israel   (07.31.10)
Oops.....i forgot who the author was!
12. What a shame
Burpy Longstocked ,   toronto ca   (07.31.10)
Yes, indeed this is a terrible act of foolishness carried out by the IDF. Imagine, Israel retaliating for these innocent animals hurling rockets into Israel. It's just so rejuvenating!!!
13. #7
Resistor   (07.31.10)
According to the IDF, it was not fired by Hamas. Go ask them who fired it. From empty fields to empty apartments.......shock horror!
14. This recent act of foolishness did not pass quietly
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.31.10)
The foolish Hamas of Gaza awakened to the reality that Israel can and will strike back. However weak the strike may be Gaza will suffer for their foolishness. I look forward to the day when Gaza is reduced to no threat rubble.
15. Israel Assasinates Him and His Family
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (07.31.10)
then #5 Slanders him by saying he used his family as human shields to justify Israel's murdering them. He was not even at home when they were murdered. But Israel bombed his home killing his family. Pure hasabra lies.
16. When will be the the turn of nasrallah ?
(07.31.10)
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT DAY.
17. Sarah no.3
Avigdor ,   Haifa   (07.31.10)
Sarah you said "Oh please. Make my day" Why would a retaliation by hamas which could result in the deaths of more Israeli "make your day"? You don't seem to care at all about Israelis dying or getting injured all you care about is anotrher reason for the IDF to attack hamas again so you can revel in war and death.
18. Kudos to the IDF pilot
John ,   Accra,Ghana   (07.31.10)

20. To #3
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (07.31.10)
I will join with a gift of Cactus to Hamas. They will never learn. Bravo to Bibi and the IDF
21. Doug in Rochester
Arie ,   BaGolan   (07.31.10)
Will you be joining the world chorus calling for a "transparent independent investigation" of US and Brit massacres of civilian "collateral damage" in Afghanistan and Pakistan while chasing what you surely describe as "Taliban operatives" or is your "Christ killer" phenomena strictly reserved for Jews? How about an honest response, or will you simply put the hood back on and slither away?
22. #15
Omri ,   Israel   (07.31.10)
Ah, well i didnt much remember that. Hard to tell when the basic hamas defence from assassination is a human shield. Murdering? What do you know of war? Its not flowers and such but killings. In war its basic strategy to target the enemy leaders and weaken the enemy more then killing hundreds of soldiers can do. This man is not you're avrage day family guy, he is an active murder for shooting israeli and palastinian civiliens + for denying the existance of our country and not exepting any peace other then the anahilation of the state of israel. Nice guy ah?
23. Time to choose
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (07.31.10)
Well, it appears we are back were we started, tit-for-tat attacks between Israel and Gaza. Some speculate that the resumption of rocket attacks is an attempt to disrupt tentative peace talks with Abbas. This may be so but I think the attacks have a little deeper meaning. The terrorists in Gaza are extremely frustrated by the crushing defeat of their efforts to break the naval blockade. So they revert back to the strategy that brought Cast Lead upon them. Is that a wise thing to do at this time? Do the leaders in Gaza want to provoke another Israeli invasion? I don’t think so because Hamas immediately denied responsibility for the recent rocket and mortar attacks. So what is going on? All the Hamas hype of destroying Israel is wearing thin on everyone and Hamas knows it. Hamas realizes it must govern responsibly or lose the support of the people. They are taking steps in that direction by developing legitimate infrastructure that benefits the people. Unfortunately Hamas has a problem that may be their undoing. That is the many splinter terror groups that are difficult to control. It is only a matter of time before a lucky (or unlucky depending how you look at it) attack does serious damage in Israel that will unleash another invasion. I don’t believe Hamas wants this. So Hamas must make a choice; risk civil war by reigning in the renegades, or suffer another Israeli invasion. I am putting my money on the renegade leaders quietly ending up in prisons, or in caskets.
24. Gaza Attack
Rick S. ,   USA   (07.31.10)
Good job, Israel. Kill all the terrorists and their supporters. If you don't get them, they'll get you.
25. @ no.13
Joe ,   Melbourne   (07.31.10)
"fired from empty fields to empty apartments"...do you think that was their intent? what a silly thing to say!
26. how could he be from a refugee
Barney ,   USA   (07.31.10)
camp if he is living in his homeland of "palestine". there should be no refugees.
27. Hamas terror leader
Dan   (07.31.10)
The guy was not just a Hamas "operative". All newsreports abroad say that "An airstrike in central Gaza killed Saed Al Bitran, who was responsible for manufacturing weapons, the Hamas forces said." Good riddance, Haniye is next!!
28. Racializing a death, Jewish its a crime but Arab then legal
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (07.31.10)
Its a sad day in Israel if the people on this talkback represent the it. Rocket attacks are wrong but bombing people that are fenced in with no where to go is just as bad. Israel seems to have lose it morals, just as many Palestinians have but atleast I can understand the their pain, where as Israeli have a good live, jobs, land and free to travel.
29. If At First You Don't Succeed, Try Try Again

people in gaza are also free to travel. after all, it seems that they have a border with egypt and that egyptians are also closing them in. i wonder why? after all, the egyptians are arabs as well, are they not? supposed to help their brothers in gaza...at least that is what the egyptian government always advertizes...that egypt is helping their arab palestinian brothers. so, knowing that, egypt is responsible for the fake prison in gaza as well. at least israel is at war with gaza counting the 10,000 missiles that have been fired from gaza into israel. it is a state of war and israel is allowed to close its borders any time it chooses. WHAT IS EGYPT'S EXCUSE???? HAVE YOU SEEN ANY MISSILES FROM HAMAS INTO EGYPT??? NO! SO, WHAT IS THE EGYPTIAN'S EXCUSE FOR IMPRISONING GAZANS IN THAT TERRITORY? have you thought of that, my friend? as long as hamas is terrorising the citizens of israel, israel has no responsibility to open their border with that entity and accept suicide bombers coming into israel. egypt has zero excuse to close their border. zero. so, please. think! apparently egypt sees hamas for what they really are. a bunch of terrorists and violent thugs and corrupt power hungry imbeciles that endanger the future of the population they control with an iron fist by terror, fear and imprisonment of anyone there that disagrees with their policies. the gaza population is the responsibility of hamas and hamas only. when they decide to accept israel as a country in the region and end their suicide bombing terrorist attacks and missile barages..maybe then israel will be more willing to ease the blockade. otherwise, go complain to egypt that has not suffered from gaza hamas as israel has. hameed aboughaze, iranian
