Assad is simply rattling his Syrian sabres again, threatening another illegal aggression and occupation of Lebanon by Syria. Funny that a head of state should interfere with an international judicial investigation. It makes the entire affair stink even more than it actually does. And boy, does it smell bad for Syrian territorial ambitions. There is no argument that Syrian aggression is responsible for much of Lebanon's ills. There is also lots of evidence that Syria and/or Hezbollah was involved in the murder of Hariri. What Assad appears to be saying is that yes, they did indeed murder Hariri, but if anybody tries to do anything about it then Syria will cause another civil war in Lebanon. Of course, that's exactly what Hezbollah and their Iranian puppet masters want - the excuse to launch a civil war to try and take over the country.

Assad's warning is quite amusing. He predicts Lebanon will erupt in sectarian violence. Care to guess along which sectarian lines that will occur?? Or who the instigators will be? It was the Shia that launched the last civil war, and it will be them this time, with Hizbullah at the helm. Which begs the question - is Hizbullah a legitimate part of the Lebanese govt, or an illegal militant group operating internally, apart from the legitimate govt? This is the ME so both answers are correct in the Arab convoluted world. However, Assad's predictions, the Tribunal's indictments, and Nasrallah's threats all weak point to one thing - Hizbullah is a terrorist organization arm of Iran and much be dealt with as so.... for a free Lebanon, and a free world.
