1. What happened to Jumblatt?
William ,   Israel   (08.04.10)
Did Walid have a lobotomy last year? He was vehemently anti-Syrian and pro-Lebanese for years, especially with the death of his father at the hands of Syrian intelligence. Suddenly, leading up to the elections in Lebanon where Hizbullah was planning to gain seats and veto power, he began to radically change his tune and fall in line. I am no expert on Lebanese politics, but something deeper has happened here. Certainly his Druze followers are no safer in the Baaka Valley with Hizbullah active there.
2. Propaganda
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (08.04.10)
Lebanese continue their vile propaganda while facts showed them wrong. How low can one fall ?
3. Turncoat Jumblat will soon invite Syrian troops in Lebanon
Joe ,   Canada   (08.04.10)
Lebanese politcians who submitted to Hezbollah & Syria may think they have an opportunity to play Assad ambitions against Nasrallah's ambitions at the time of the official release of the accusation of Hariri's murderers. They may even concoct a civil war to provide the Syrian white knight with a pretext to reestablish his rule over Lebanon as a "peace keeper". They may think Assad might be better than Nasrallah. But nothing good for the average Lebanese is in his future if he puts its fate in the hands of either one of these two rogue & bloody dictators.
4. @1 what happened to Jumblatt
Zvi   (08.04.10)
The west abandoned Lebanon when Hezbollah launched its mini-coup. The mini-coup included an attack on the Chouf. Jumblatt knows that the west is not going to protect him from Syria, and Syria threatened him quietly.
5. :: William you need to know that Walid is not stable
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.04.10)
Unlike his father Kamal who was always either neutral or cooperating with Israel, the son has exhibited over the years quite a hectic pattern of behavior. He switched sides a number of times and in my opinion he is mentally unbalanced.
6. :: What am I saying?!
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.05.10)
I must be ‘mentally unbalanced’ if I feel the overwhelming need to impersonate Matty Groves and a whole host of other posters on this website! I guess I need to pretend to be other posters because I have no self-esteem.
7. Make friends, not more ennemies.
Luiz Felipe Haddad ,   Niteroi, Rio, Brazil   (08.05.10)
Israel must have friends, not more ennemies. Jordan Kingdom has recognized Her since much time. Amman's proposals, whose scope is achieving peace, are very important. The same can be said about Egypt and, almost, about Saudi Arabian. Think about it, seriously. Luiz Felipe Haddad.
8. Jumblatt & Hariri
Jumbo ,   NYC USA   (08.05.10)
Both are two - you come up with the word. Back and forth, ignore who killed their fathers, on and on. This is Lebanon, so that's what you get.
9. I wondered about this too, William
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.05.10)
The Druze are loyal to their countries. eg Israeli Druze loyal to Israel, Syrian Druze loyal to Syria and Lebanese Druze loyal to Lebanon...or should be! Who would know better than Jumblatt as to what's going down in Lebanese politics? Not many. Maybe there's no Lebanon left to be loyal to, hence his need to follow Hezbollah to survive...and as for his lip-service to Assad......yuck!
10. #5 #6 please grow up
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.05.10)
Just because I am a vehement supporter of terrorism and an enemy of intellectual honesty does not give you people the right to impersonate me.
11. Jordan mediating
Ike ,   Toronto   (08.05.10)
"Jumblatt & Assad standing beside Lebanon". These are the scum we have to make peace with.
12. jordan isn't medling 2 of her civilians
ghostq   (08.05.10)
were killed over the week end by rockets attack, that is good reason to be involved don't you think. and Juballat is very ficult man, he was in favor to Israel during the first lebanon war, I guess he was also gave shush money for his agreement, hizbulla way is "agree to my move or die", jubalat the cross eyed leader gave his concent for temporary reilife, he sold his soul to the devil, I never hear on anyone who was assosiate with hizbulla and lived to tell about it, but since Juballat is old he got nothing to lose. only his comunity, they will suffer from it.
13. Haddad, you are not right
Alexandre Afonso ,   SaoPaulo   (08.05.10)
Luiz Felipe, what make you believe Israel does not want friends? Do you think it is easy for them to live in a stressfull way everyday? Your question should be made to Israel's enemies, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, etc. The question is simple: if you accept Israel, you can have a healthy neighbourhood, like Egypt or Jordan. If you dont accept, you have to be stronger, otherwise', if you provoke, you'll pay a heavy price. irondude84@yahoo.com
14. to #7 you think this is Israel issue
ghostq   (08.05.10)
it's not, the real problem is Iran in the me, hizbulla won't have such good solid support without Iran backing, includs financial and men power support, seems like the tyrants of muslims created a monster named hizbulla, conviniently turn the blind eye and blame the entire thing on hizbulla, only time will tell what the fate of the two, it's double sword dagger to anyone involved, if those leaders will think nasralla gain too much power, they will make him disapeare, and if they will give him too much power he might take control on the area and make them disapear, match made in hell, you think he is gloried, he is on their murcy and vica versa. they can't sleep well at night, with good cause, the masses of shiiats always find another fanatic religious leader to follow, they will move on since loyalty is very shady among their kind.
