1. Civilians in flotilla
Green Baron ,   Bethesda, MD, US   (08.10.10)
In any place, there are different kinds of "civilians". Having lived in New York City, I can personally say that I knew some "civilians" that could be most handy with a weapon, be it a baseball bat or a gun. Several of the "civilians" I knew at the time, for example, had ways of collecting money owed by some of their debtors. Others were most proficient street fighters, like those aboard the Mavi Marmara. So somehow, I am not moved by the IHH's bleating about those poor "civilians". I would not want to on opposite sides of them in a street brawl.
2. IT WAS THE TURKS WHO SENT THEM TO THEIR DEATHS
stude ham   (08.10.10)
turkey is an expert at denying its killings... like the armenians... the kurds... the greeks on the wrong part of cyprus... the political turks are nowhere near able to tell the truth.
3. Turkey
Harris ,   West Palm Beach, USA   (08.10.10)
When is Netanyahu going to talk straight to Turkey? Enough with their incendiary rhetoric. It is not Israel's fault that Turkey intentionaly sent terrorists along with civilians in an unnecessary political stunt to break a valid blockade. The Turkish Foreign Minister should get down on his knees and apologize to the Armenians and the Kurds, and then shut up about Israel!
4. Stop the rhetoric
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (08.10.10)
The Turkish foreign minister would like to head off answering the questions that are coming his way. He is relying on rhetoric that will prove useless in a legal forum. The Turks and IHH should be prepared to answer: • What did the spokesman aboard the Mavi Marmara mean when he said “go back to Auswitch” and “remember 911 guys” when instructed to change direction? • Why did the Turks offer, then, withdraw military escort to the flotilla weeks before? • What is the meaning of various activists expressing a desire for confrontation and martyrdom during the flotilla? • What is the explanation for the wounds suffered by the commandos? • Why was the value of the cargo aboard the Mavi Marmara of so little value to the Gazans? • Was the goal of the flotilla truly humanitarian or a ploy meant to provoke a reaction from the Israelis? Davutoglu needs to can the useless rhetoric and help his team build the evidence to make his case. He appears amateurish and panicky.
5. You have to understand Turkey in context
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.10.10)
In contrast to Israel, Turkey considers the militants on-board the fortilla, Hamas and every other terrorist group to be civilians. In their definition killing Jews, settlers, or Zionists is a holy obligation, both religiously and culturally for the sake of the noble ambitions of Jihad. This is the depth of depravity that Islamic and closet Islamic nations have always operated under. Enemies of western culture have their own dictionary, and the Left and other unstable intellects are easy duped.
6. gaza flotilla? so 3 mths ago...
courttney ,   philly, usa   (08.10.10)
no one really cares anymore, lets be honest...
7. Interesting demand
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS   (08.10.10)
from the murderers of over 1,000,000 Armenians and tens of thousands of Kurdish civilians
8. Enough....
Malone ,   Hfx   (08.10.10)
Tell this guy to get stuffed, along with the UN,Abbas and Obama. Recall the ambassador to Turkey while you're at it. Quit begging for approval!
9. "admit responsibility for attack...on civilians"
William ,   Israel   (08.10.10)
Well, actually, there are two more parties to this case. The people who sent them - IHH, with the sole purpose of illegal military activity, and the persons themselves who willing put themselves in harm's way despite knowing the risks. Not many people who consider themselves "civilians" would be asking G-d to be a martyr. It's time Turkey is investigated heavily and hung out to dry for aiding and abetting illegal activity, an indirect declaration of war on Israel, and putting people's lives in danger.
10. Israel solely responsible for convoy deaths?
Bob ,   Israel   (08.10.10)
Davutoglu, the Kurds YOU Turks kill; are they all militars? ¿No civilians among them? Don't need to answer. We all know what you do to them and also know your turkish history of permanent murders and violations.
11. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.10.10)
Wow, even with all evidence clearly pointing to the 6th ship instigated the entire event. Even with the admission by the leaders of the flotilla admitting that the goal of the flotilla was not to deliver aid to Gaza...which we all know was not needed anyway...the liars stick to their false story, and repeat the lie, over and over again. Knowing some will accept it as the truth.
12. The only mistake Israel made was ...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (08.10.10)
... ever thinking Turkey was a friendly country, worthy of being considered a strategic ally. Israel has nothing to apologize for. Davutoglu can go pound rocks.
13. im sure the governement is dying to apologise
JL   (08.10.10)
just to show the world how gracious the jews can be...and also to get those turkish military contracts back on track...we all know how the jews love the money and they will do a world class grovelling act to get those dollars back and israelis tourists back in turkey
14. Turkey - admit aggression and complicity
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.10.10)
Yea right. The Turkish government was looking to stick their noses in where they don't belong. They were looking for a fight and they got one. Now they're whining and complaining. We want an apology from Turkey for causing this incident in the first place. We want Turkey to declare that it is against terrorism whether it's from the PKK or from Gaza. Otherwise, Davutoglu can go apologize to the Armenians and Kurds- and then we'll apologize to him.
15. Turkey's Crap
Brod ,   USA   (08.10.10)
Civilians? They were Turkish Islamist-Jihadist thugs armed with knives and iron pipes trying to murder Israel's security personel. Israel should stop this UN-Turkey Charade. It is part of their tactics to undermine Israel's government and distract Israel from defending itself against Iran nuke threat.
16. Turkey and it's governement
Johnny ,   Nazareth   (08.10.10)
are like a broken tape!! Who cares what they say... Bibi ata ha gever, say to these dogs enough is enough, say the truth in their faces as they do...
17. Why are Davutoglu and Erdogan not taking responsibility?
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.10.10)
for backing IHH terrorist organizers of flotilla? It is because they are both Jihadi cowards. BLOODYTHIRSTY SCOT GREATEST EVER TEX-MEX BURRITOS AND MIDDLE EAST EXPERT DALLAS, TEXAS
18. .......and turkey must admit...
OZ   (08.10.10)
its responsebilty in masscaring thousands of armenians, butchering thuosands of kurds , aiding and supporting terroist groups, and all in all gonig down the path of no return to the civilazed world!
19. Green Baron - #1
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.10.10)
Curently living in Ny (since 1980) and having lived in various cities Turkey between 1950 and 1980 I must say that those people that you have met in NY can be considered as sissies compared to some uneducated Turks who would start a brawl out of a simple disagreement in a soccer match and end up burning a whole stadium (Happened only a few months ago) or just kill some foreign visitors who came to town to watch a soccer game (Happened a few years ago when British soccer fans - not better then the Turks - were attacked in Istanbul and one killed)
20. Mr. Davutogluy is talking too early
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.10.10)
Only after the investigations it will be clear which side is responsible for what. So far the investigations are only starting. But I can understand where Mr. Davutoglu is coming from. His PM Erdogan was asked recently about the contents of a meeting that he had had with the past military chief of Staff Ysar Buyukanit. His reply was (BEN KIMSEYE HESAP VERMEM) = (I am not accountable to anyone) . This is the problem with AKP government. They claim to be democrats but in a democracy the governments are accountable to the people who brought them to their positions. Unfortunately the AKP does not understand democracy. They only understand of religious dominance and dictatorship.

22. MAYBE IT WAS THE BABY'S FAULT
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne,   (08.10.10)
Now,perhaps if he baby, who someone had the bright idea to take into a war zone as a human shield, hadn't woken up just then and started screaming, this might not have happened. But he woke up the thugs who got hacked off and decided to take it out on the boarding party for missing their shut-eye. Come on,baby, take the blame for killing civilians in international waters!!! You were supposed to be their human shield. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
23. SOMETHING THAT PUZZLES ME
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne,   (08.10.10)
If I understand Erdogan and Davutoglu rightly, all Hamas supporters are civilians not to be harmed, even if they're armed thugs looking for trouble. Yet,the official Hamas line on Israelis, even babies,is that they are all actual or potential Zionist soldiers and regarded as 'legitimate' targets for their terrorists. Please help. This contradiction is making my head spin. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
24. Grow some batzim Bibi!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (08.10.10)
confront these liars and tell the truth! They werent just plain civilians...they were IHH terrorist shahids and theres video to prove that!
25. Only one mistake
Harvey ,   London   (08.10.10)
Israels mistake was to send commandos down one at a time and armed with paint ball guns. Utter madness and naive not to anticipate a Jihadi welcoming commitee. That should be the overriding concern for any investigative procedure. As far as Im aware there have been no calls for any investigation into the deaths of countless civilians in Irak and Afghanistan ,so called collateral damage in the war on terror .The Turkish Jihadis came tooled up and spoiling for a fight . They got one to remember
26. # 7
murat ,   Turkey   (08.10.10)
interesting comment from some one who lives in a country which killed more than -at least- 1.000.000 Arab and Afghan civilians within the past 8 years. The people of your country must look in the mirror and tell us what they see ?!
27. The civilian thugs initiated the fight...
galut ,   Selah   (08.10.10)
the israelis responded..... usualy the one that initiates the fight IS the ones responsible for it in most courts of law... the video clips bare out the FACT that the civilians started it.... but in the radical islamic world you can nuture a lie if it serves thier goal.... this is what is currently happening....
28. @ 20/ David.
Yossef ,   Paris   (08.10.10)
Any picks re: Yasar Buyukanit' s answer at that time? Kind regards.
29. #26,MURAT,,,SOLVE MY PUZZLE,PLEASE
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne,   (08.10.10)
Hey,Murat,I dont know who these 1,000,000+ Arab civilians are.If you mean the people who were slaughtered in Iraq,I think that you'll find that most of them were killed by their fellow Arabs. Putting that aside, you look like just the man to help me with my enquiry,#23. How does it happen that armed Arab thugs going out to kill are always innocent, sacrosanct civilians while all Jews, even babies, are actual or potential Zionist soldiers who should be killed on sight?.....by these nice innocent Arab civilians. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
30. IHH used same box-cutter knives as those used on 9/11
Doug R. ,   Gwent, UK   (08.10.10)
'Civilians' my a-se! These IHH 'individuals' had the same 'box-cutter' style knives that the 'civilians' used to hijack the aircraft on 9/11. Those who got in their way were killed and if the IHH had their way on the Mavi Marmara a similar result would have ensued. Erdogan and co were in cahoots with the IHH and desire a propaganda victory to boost their own image. It didn't quite work out for them.
