Interesting comment from a country that murdered at least 1,500,000 Armenians and over 60,000 Kurds. The people in your country must look in the mirror and tell us what they see. How about the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Cyprus and your various other war-crimes?

It's time for your p.m and f,m get into their heads that turkey no longer an empire ,they should stop behaving as if they still are, those days are long gone. The whole world knows to what your country did to Armanians and others, and yet only turkey denies it .Your history stinks to the core, your empire killed millions of innocents, DO NOT PREACH MORALITY

You talk too much but you don't weight your words well therefore it comes biting you. American's did not kill 1 million Arab and Afghan civilians in the war. They killed many this is a fact but many Americans also were killed in that war. Especially the Afghan war was a reaction to the 9/11 attacks on USA but there was more before that. The taliban protected Al kaida attacked USS Cole killing Americans, attacked the USA embassies in Nairobi and Somalia killing many civilians some Americans and some Kenyans and Somalis, they attacked the Kobar Towers killing Americans, etc. Just remember that Turkey invaded north Cyprus over a coup d'etat to president Makarios claiming that this put the lives of Cypriot Turks in danger. The civilians killed in Iraq are mostly killed between Sunnis and Shias, brother killing brother because they do not know how to live in peace among themselves. As USA is planning to take its military out of Iraq very soon many Iraqis are worried. They don't believe that they can be safe without the US military. Now I know what you are thinking: You are saying that Saddam Huseyin was managing Iraq to live in peace. But peace for who? Those who obey him and live an oppressed life only. He was killing his rivals in the Iraqi parliament with the move of a finger, he was punishing Football (Soccer as we call) players when they lose a game by mutilating them, killing Kurdish civilians by spreading poison gas on their villages (Halepce massacre). I know Murat many of you in Turkey are still not ready for a real democracy one that Ataturk wanted to establish. You prefer a strong dictator to put you in discipline just like your fathers do when you misbehave with the use of their belts or your teachers at high schools do with the use of a ruler or in one of my high school experiences in Izmir a teacher used to squeeze the ear lobes of the students between his finger and a YALE key until blood would come. Well Murat, civilized people deserve better than that.

Nobody is asking Buyukanit about the contents of that secret meeting. Some are speculating that one day he might write his memoirs but as a person who served in the Turkish military as a Lieutenant (Yedek Subay) in Ankara and participated in one NATO exercise next to a young Yasar Buyukanit I can tell you that he will take it to his grave and not say anything on that matter.
37. @#34: Turkey was our friend, but mistreated us.
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (08.11.10)
You see, Turk, for a few years now Turkish TV broadcasts shows that wrongly show IDF soldiers do horrible things - deliberately killing children and rape women - which they don't. That is blasphemy and friends aren't supposed to do that - if you're my friend, you won't make up lies to blacken my name. Moreover, President Arduan has insulted President Peres in Davos, and spoke against Israel too many times in front of the whole world. This was the background to the Low Chair Incident. Our treatment of Ambassador Akhmet Oguz Chelikol was not acceptable in the eyes of many Israelis (myself included), but it was meant to express the anger all in Israel felt in regarding of the treatment Arduan gave us in public for a long time now. As for the Flotilla affair, remember, you came to us. Arduan has set the whole thing up from the beginning - deliberately sending a shipload of terrorists with murder in their eyes and knives and clubs (and maybe guns?) in their hands, meant to start a fight, and harm Israel any way they could. We tried in any possible way to ask you nicely not to offend Israeli sovereignty in such animosity, but from Arduan came only flames. This is not a friendly act and I, and many others here, feel so disgusted, that Turkish attack on Israel was so over the line, that we don't want to have anything to do with Turkey anymore. We feel that Turkey has changed sides, for wanting to be friends with Iran, and that you threw away our long-time friendship just to please your new friend Ahmadinijad. We are deeply hurt and we are not going to apologise. We wish you no harm. Good bye and good luck.

Question to Mr Davotuglu and to the lynching mob of Israel,it's ww 2 very humane Turkey, sends ships with supplies to Japan which is besieged by the evil USA, 150 miles from Japan the US Navy orders the ships to stop, the Turks respond,we will not stop,we are in international waters and it's none of your business where we are going and what the ships contain,Mr Davotuglu ,what do you think the US Navy would have done apologize ? and allowed the ships to pass,or sunk the ships on the spot ?.Since Gaza palestine became independent,it fired on Israel more than 10,000 misiles, so a state of war exists between Israel and Gaza ,and Israel has every right to stop and search every ship going to the terrorist state of Gaza.

These were not civilians. Civilians do not attack troops that enforce a fully legal and internationally-recognized blockade. Moreover, IHH is known to have strong ties to Al Qaeda -- Turkey's protestations to the contrary notwithstanding (Turkey, after all, says a lot of things, including inter alia how kindly they treat the Kurds). The vessel was provisioned in Turkey, took on cargo in Turkey, and bunkered in Turkey. Turkey was more than well aware of the vessel's intended course -- they only trumpeted it to the world for weeks in advance, ad nauseum. For them to shirk any blame for the outcome of the incident of the MARMARA is blatantly ridiculous, and would not stand up in any court of law. They are trying to save face. What was supposed to be a grand coup for the Turks -- just when Erdogan needed a really strong shot in the arm among the Turkish electorate -- blew up in his face. Israel kicked his ass. SWEET!!! Go ahead. Send the MARMARA again. Next time, maybe the MARMARA will get one warning; one shot across the bow; and then one shot amidships. Go ahead. Bring it on. Think it can't happen? Think it won't? Perhaps the Turks should stick to Turkish delight. That, they're good at. Actual combat situations -- not so good. Not any good at all.
41. What's the fuss?
Advocate4Liberty ,   Chicago, USA   (08.12.10)
It's obvious to everyone, except possibly MSM, that Israel was solely responsible for its own act of piracy and murder. Where's the controversy?
42. @#41: Israel did not commit no act of piracy whatsoever.
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (08.12.10)
International law is very clear about this - if a hostile vessel refuses to stop within twice the distance of international water from the shore - the defending nation has a right to open fire.
43. To: No. 41
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.12.10)
What piracy? What murder? Are you at all acquainted with the rule of law governing blockades and embargos? It would appear not. Why not familiarize yourself with international convention and admiralty law before you come aboard here and make a complete fool of yourself? Unless you like getting kicked to the curb, of course.
