WHY NOT ??: US support Israel with military hardware, Iran should help Lebanon. And maybe Russia should supply Lebanon with at last 150 nuclear bombs so the treat of nuclear annihilation is prevented by perfect balance of miitary power between Israel and Lebanon.

Iran is fueling this issue to divert world attention from its nuke program. Everyday Iran can change the headlines, it is going to do just that. Let's not take our eye off the ball, Iran's nuke program, and the key question. Is the world a safer place with Iran in procession of nuke weapons? The answer to that should trouble the world. We all know once Iran has nukes they will have one primary goal. What is it? Simple, it is to use the nukes against its enemies, while creating a plausible deny-ability that it was them. Of course they will use their favorite scapegoat, Israel. Just as a third of the Muslim world believes Israel or the U.S. Or both were behind 9/11. The same scenario will be used here. Iran will nuke somebody, blame Israel, and the nuke blast will destroy most if not all evidence, making it a he said /she said argument.

when Reagan pulled the Marines out of Beirut in a hurry after Amal hit their barracks with a powerful truck bomb. If the US was interested in "saving" Lebanon, they would have hit back hard. Same could be said about Iran in 1979. Aren't all of the belly-achers like you crying that US funds are used in someone else's war? So why should the US fund an obvious extension of a terrorist group's actions against an ally? Glad you're not in Congress.

Like with the Cold War between the US and Russia. Neither of them welcomed death nor acted irrationally. Not the case with Lebanon under the yoke of Iran's proxy. They did state that they "welcome death" so no matter of Western-style balance of power would work. It's in the region's interest to have a very powerful Israel...the same powerful Israel that helped Jordan's King Hussein when Syria made a move on her capital in the late 1960s. If Israel "welcomed death" and abused its power, Lebanon would be re-named "Israel - Northern Campus"

Maybe someday Iran may aim 150 nuclear missiles at the Czech Republic and demand you all convert to Islam or die. Are you willing to take that chance? Is Russia also willing? Islamic extremists have made their intent known to impose a Caliphate on the entire world. Common sense would dictate we take them at their word and take action to stop them.
