Cowards like all politicians are not trustful. Barak should accept that if he is the Defense Minister, he is responsible for the army, if not why can he decide to change Ashkenazi? We should all remember this attitudes when the time to vote comes, both Bibi and Barak should be defeated inside their parties first, and then in the national elections!
2. Ashkenzay, We love you!

3. Ashkenazi
James ,   Herzeliya   (08.11.10)
The two "Smartutuim" Barak and Bibi are a failure. At least Ashkenazi is honest enough to come and say he is responsible. I commend him for a great job as IDF chief and doing what is necessary to protect Israel.
4. YOU THE COWARD, SOULLESS CONDOTTIERE
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (08.11.10)

YOUR LOSER CIVILIAN SO CALLED LEADERS ARE THE MOTHER PROBLEM. it started with olmert livni barak netanyahu ... *** the mentalıty of israel is the responsible CHARACTER OF THE ISRAEL IS THE RESPONSIBLE. you are all middle level managers. without todays weapons YOU ARE ALL NOTHING.
5. IT IS SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU ALL TO DEPOSE, TODAY
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (08.11.10)
I LIKE THAT. TO SEE BARAK TO SEE NETANYAHU TO SEE THAT IDF CHIEF TO SEE THEM ALL WHILE DEPOSITION ... BUT ! I REFUSE THE COURT. I JUST SEE THE DECISION WHICH WILL COME OUT ... SO ! SO I REFUSE IT. but it is always nice to see them ( you ) in court that way. *** ONE DAY ON OTHER SIDE ! I WONDER WHAT THE ISRAELI RACISTS WILL DO WHILE THEY WILL BE QUESTIONED BY THE GOD (C.C)
6. NO CRIMINAL CAN WALK FROM ITS OWN CRIMES THAT LONG.
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (08.11.10)
I REFUSE YOUR COURTS . I JUST REJECT THEM. but I like to watch them. at least they give correct photos out. CRIMINALS AT THE CHAIR
7. Does the court have the power to invite Erdogan?
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (08.11.10)
The blood is on his hands, as he was the person able to stop the flotilla.
8. Israel has no reason to be on the defensive in this matter.
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (08.11.10)
The damned(that's just a Bible word) Turks are totally responsible for their humiliating disaster and the deaths resulting from it. Period! Had the Turkish leaders not made the blatant attempt to invade the State of Israel, all would have ended well, but no their plan was to stoke the fires blazing in the Middle East just a little more. The result is that they will get burned for their efforts.
9. Where is the vid showing Zuabi's problematic
!sraeli   (08.11.10)
behavior abord the mavi marmara? Abetting terrorists, arguing with an IDF soldier and trying to prevent taking injured to the "nasty" Israeli hospitals.
10. TO #7 Mike from Oxford
Marwan ,   Amman, Jordan   (08.11.10)
so let me get this straight: if some thug stabs you to death while you're walking in the street, it's your parents' fault because they didn't stop you from going out? i totally fancy your logic... if you have a sister, please introduce me to her!
11. STORM? What STORM?
Rube Vogel ,   Jerusalem   (08.11.10)
"decision to 'storm' Gaza-bound flotilla" - STORM? Did you people even see the video? There was no "STORM". There was a "boarding". Why do you adopt the language of the anti-Israel propogandists?
12. #10
Adrian ,   Israel   (08.11.10)
OK, here u have it straight: If your parents have been warned and they still **send** you out to look for trouble yes, it is first their fault (they should of keep you home) and it is your fault because when stopped by the police you chosed to attack! What a twisted logic...sure, just walking in yr neighborhood minding yr own business and...boom somebody attacked you....doohh poor innocent victim....
13. Best case scenario: Israel to apologize & compensate ..
Kemal ,   Turkey   (08.11.10)
..the victims. After releasing everyone on the ships, their belongings then the ships themselves, Israel will have no choice but to apologize and compensate the victims (killed or injured) a aggression of international water and piracy. And the siege will be lifted also,Wait and see
14. Barak
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.11.10)
The IHH organized a similar flotilla to go through Egypt a few months before the anti-Israeli flotilla. When the Egyptian police boarded the ship they were attacked. Because the Egyptians had sent a massive number of riot police and not a small number of soldiers, the Egyptians managed to subdue the IHH jihadists without deaths, though there were many wounded on both sides. The IHH learned not to mess with the Egyptians so they organized the same type of flotilla against Israel. The man who should have known about this event is Ehud Barak, the same one who is now blaming everyone but himself. Yossi Sarid was right when he called Barak "run away Ehud"

"so let me get this straight: if some thug stabs you to death while you're walking in the street, it's your parents' fault because they didn't stop you from going out? " Marwan, you're the one with the challenged logic. Your example is far removed from the context of Erdogan's IHH flotilla
16. Relieving and refreshing
Dorothea Killus ,   Loerrach   (08.11.10)
to read your clarifying words, Lt.-Gen. Ashkenazi! Thank you from Germany, and may the "LORD of hosts" continue to bless you and the brave IDF-soldiers !
17. #13 Best case scenario
(08.11.10)
Turks retreat from occupied Kurdistan and pay compensation to the Armenians.
18. The Whole Operation Showed No Ingenuity
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.11.10)
Dropping soldiers by rope equipped with paint-ball rifles has got to have been one of the stupidest tactics ever in the anals of military operations. Who was the idiot who that one up? But, besides that, why could the navy not have disabled the ship's engines one way or another? Why not spray the deck with goo or gefilte fish yoich or something? I would have first dropped hundreds of snakes on the deck from the helicopter. Imagine that scene! Each snake would have had a small remote-controlled bomb shoved into it and then the snakes would be set off periodically for some extra commotion. Bleech. The problem with giving this assignment to the army is that it does not know how to think in anything but military terms. They have no ability to come up with creative solutions, as silly as they may seem, which would have been far more effective and life-saving. Generals can't think out of the box, and politicians cannot think at all.

You obviously have no clue. Why don't you tell Hamas and Hizbullah that they'd be nothing without weapons? Why don't you go to live in Gaza for a while and try to express any opinions they would not like. Bet your head wouldnt be long on your shoulder.

21. What a circus of clowns
Richard ,   Miami, USA   (08.11.10)
The whole purpose of this investigation is to pass the buck around and shift responsibility until the committee rules that everyone involved is partly to blame and mistakes were made but there is not enough clarity to make a definitive ruling. Luckily there is a UN investigation kicking off which has more credibility and a wider mandate than this home grown farce.

Atilla the Turk needs to shed Islamic crocodile tears in Sukkur Pakistan ,where drenching Islamic tears from Allah have turned the dysfunctional Muslim state of Pakistan into a sea of rats and dogs whilst Catholic Relief and other non-Muslim organisations drop supplies from helicopters and the opium fuelled Islamic gang of Taliban thugs steal from their own brethren ,how hypocrisy shows it,s true colors?
23. no 4
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (08.11.10)
Atilla the Turk should stop moaning already and organise another Turkish IHH aid flotilla to Pakistan ,where Muslims are dying in their thousands and their dictator Zardari enjoys the crisp white sheets ,fine foods and wine of Europe,s finest hotels in Paris and London ,and the corrupt CAIR in the USA begs for $ 100 million to build an Islamofascist centre of death at ground zero ,,get real ?

Marwan the Palestinian in the capital of the Palestinian state ,Amman can,t distinguish between civilised non confrontational city folk and Muslim drug dealers on the streets of major European capitals (London,Amsterdam Paris,Rome ,Geneva ,Barcelona etc.)so yes if a drug dealing scumbag tries to sell coke to young ladies on our streets then it,s time for action ,inshallah?

I think your post can best be summed up in your own words... Who was the idiot who that one up?
26. #13, here is the apology
Danny   (08.11.10)
Israel is sorry that the Turkish AKP party is doing so badly it needs to needlessly provoke an attack to bolster itself for the election it will currently lose. Israel is sorry that the IHH, AKP and Hamas feel those people are mere cannon fodder who lives are not worth anything apart from forwarding the leadership's own selfish goals. Israel is sorry that Turkey after years of being an shinning light of a democratic Muslim nation now has a leadership that wants to be Iran-lite. Good enough?
27. Kemal, #13
Golani ,   Mi Ami, Israel   (08.11.10)
Kemel, Israel should apologize and compensate for what? The Israeli soldiers were the victims here. Israel should be compensated for travel expense to send the participants and terrorists back home, as well as for docking fees for the ships.
28. #10;Marwan, reveals mindset of "Arab Street"
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.11.10)
The victimization mentality, take a given situation out of context, and present it as facts. BASICALLY LIES THOUGH OMISSION. As has been pointed out by other posters, it's not" a thug stabs you on the street so you blame the parents" to paraphrase Marwan. The proper context is, the parents were told everyday for a month, that the street is closed, anybody on that street will be told to detour to another street. The parents tell their kid take a baseball bat and a knife, go down the closed street, the first person that tries to stop you, beat them, stab them and fight your way down the closed street. This way you prove they cannot close the street. Marwan clearly believes his twisted version as the truth, his victim-hood mentality is common among him and his friends. That's the problem in the region, and the main obstacle to peace. It is the blame Israel first, why? Because at the end of the day they don't believe Israel has a right to exist.

The Turkish President Abdullah Gul had a pending court case against him for his activities before he was elected to the parliament about 8 years ago. He was charged for embezzlement and some other charges along with Necmettin Erbakan (His teacher and the leader of the Islamic political movement in Turkey) . Abdullah Gul received immunity after he was elected and was never tried for his crimes. However Erbakan was tried for the same case and found guilty and sentenced to serve a long jail time which later was pardoned by yours truly president Abdullah Gul or partner in crime. Here is how justice works in Turkey: If you are part of the ruling party or have close ties to them yo can get away with murder and I mean with real murder. But if you are opposing the ruling party, a bunch of cops might visit you very early in th emorning while you sleep and after handcuffing you might send you to a prison at Silivri with no charges at all. You might spend months or even years without any charges. There are over a thousand people at this prison currently. Some are journalists, some medical doctors, professors and some military or retired military staff. One very respected pediatric doctor Turkan Saylan was battling cancer when he was put to Silivri. Another very respected professor Haberal was also sick and while he was in jail his father passed away and he was not allowed to participate the funeral. I don't understand why the human rights groups, the international journalist organizations do not pay the attention that this deserves.
30. Kemal # 13
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.11.10)
Just for a moment stop thinking as a Turk but put your hand in your concience (ELINI VICDANINA KOY) and think objectively. Ugur Dundar said that he collected millions of dollars of aid for Gaza ans ships them regularly through the Red Crescent with no problem, why didn't IHH choose the same peaceful way? All other ships surrendered peacefully but only the IHH controlled Mavi Marmara resisted with lethal arms (Yes steel rods can kill, if you don't believe me try it on yourself you will see). The AKP government was warned by Israel that if the ship sails to Gaza it would be stopped. In Turkish you say BILE BILE LADES to these cases right? There is also another saying in Turkish KENDI DUSEN AGLAMAZ. Th3ese people knew what was going to happen and they did it anyway. The diary of Furkan clearly states that between the great love for his mother and his faith he decided to choose his faith in Islam and was not expecting to return alive. Kemal: You see this is one of the issues with many Turks that prevent Turkey to advance to the level of the western civilization; it is accepting responsibility of your own actions and taking lessons from the past. There is no doubt that Israel also made some mistakes and they are now investigating and questioning even the highest people in the government. In Turkey you believe that you were 100% just in this and therefore never learn from your mistakes and as a result you keep on repeating the mistakes over and over. Sorry for saying all these but you know DOST ACI SOYLER. And again when you read this post don't just get mad, put your hand in your conscience and be objective.
