31. #27 especially as the french news have refused
Danny   (08.11.10)
to correct their original reporting saying it was some sort of misunderstanding when it is clear that it was a pre-planned attack by the LAF.
32. I'm glad there is no war. We too would like to live in peace
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (08.11.10)
alongside our happy neighbours. Peace to all.
33. #9 In order to make peace it is necessary
DT ,   TA Israel   (08.11.10)
to crush ones enemies. You obviously don't read history
34. BS report
E1   (08.11.10)
1. Barak favored the restraint and said it clear and load!! 2. LAF is not "the only element able to solve (??!!) the issue of south Lebanon.." We expect seeing the UN forces desarming Hissballah. 3. And the reason of the article source is to justify why the French want to continue and provide arms to LAF, paid by South Arabia-"It was further claimed that France rejected the appeal due to its commitments under a defense pact signed with Beirut"
35. no, he behaves like a military man
courtney ,   usa   (08.11.10)
who just saw his officers killed by a foreign army... seems normal to me to want to launched a retaliatory operation
36. fire him
alexi   (08.11.10)
its probably a feint by barak., But to start an action that would unleash thousands of missiles when the antirocket system is 6 months away is stupid. Everything barak touches turns bad now. Check it out. We coudl have stopped some kassams with the phalanx gun system which would give southerners some hope. We could have enabled southerners to fire israeli kassams to balance the terror and scare the gazans but no, barak says no. Instead he wants more concesions like 2000 and he wants to grovel before turkey's ass. He is an olmert, a defeatist. Fire him immediately and install yaalon who is 10 times better.
37. How do we know that the report is true?
Mahlon Drumgoole ,   Newark NJ USA   (08.11.10)
This report by an Arab media source is suspect. I do believe that Clinton and Obama want to discourage Israel from any acts of self-defense. However, I doubt if the IDF was planning a full-scale ground operation. It is a shame that Israel didn't bomb Lebanon's oil facilities.
38. #1
Harold ,   USA   (08.11.10)
Barak is the first Israeli prime minister who used F-16 US aircraft against Palestinian civilians. He has lot of blood on his hands.
39. #4 - completely agree, but for a different reason
William ,   Israel   (08.12.10)
I believe Barak does not want to initiate a war with Lebanon because he's still trying to sell his 2000 withdraw. He still states it was the right thing to do - despite bringing more terrorist action closer to home, at the same time claiming Israel must enter peace talks with these people in order to reduce "global pressure on Israel", and he still claims the LAF attack was not pre-planned, despite their own testimony and having journalists in attendance. Barak is neither a politician nor a military man. He is a parasite.
40. Appalling Barak
Me   (08.12.10)
"Israel intends on opening a large-scale military operation to educate the Lebanese Army and avenge the death of the senior Israeli officer." This sentence alone demonstrate a recurring israeli army official mindset: I am a childish moron that will systematically try to should you that i have "a bigger one" when it come to destruct the area and kill people. This appalling mindset have driven this country toward the gutter for the last decades.
41. #18 - it was Israeli tenacity, not US weapons that won
William ,   Israel   (08.12.10)
Just like it was not French weapons that kicked your ass in 1948 and 1956, or US weapons in 1973. Shall I go on? Don't worry, you'll have plenty of resources from the Gulf...until the bill comes to be paid in the form of Sharia law and Hizbullah control of your govt. Ooops, don't you already have some of that??
42. Turkey Plans to teach Israel a lesson
David Wehbe ,   Michigan USA   (08.12.10)
Barak seeking more revenge? the killing of 2 soldiers and a journalist is not enough? what if Turkey seeks revenge for fortilla massacre? Keep buring your bridges..eventually you will live in the island of israel.
43. @#42: Both Lebanon and Turkey were the aggressors.
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (08.12.10)
Le'ts hope they'ew the ones who have learned the lesson.
