israel offers abbas talks without precongitions, ie everything is still open for discussion. abbas refuses and wants his preconditions fullfilled. on the other hand the plo chartewr still calls for the destruction of israel. if abbas has preconditions we should have them too. and the minimal one would be recognition of our right to exist. btw. he is in no position to have preconditions.

No more interim agreements which Israel has shown it will freely violate. The last interim agreement Oslo in 1993 called on Israel to HALT SETTLEMENT ACTIVITY in the West Bank. Gee, how well did Israel abide by that agreement?

How about we have an "interim" agreement for 100% of the West Bank, and all of E. Jerusalem to the Palestinians...then we can negotiate over time about allowing ISRAEL to keep a few settlements as part of land swaps. How does that sound???
