1. Note to Palestinians
C   (08.19.10)
Your ethnic cleansing and apartheid arguments are self-created propeganda. This is a perfect example of what the right in Israel really wants: Jews control, Palestinians accept that Jews control and everyone gets along. This includes Arabs having full rights.
2. Give them permits & let them play!
David ,   Shilo Israel   (08.19.10)
3. Ummm, you need us even in Rebels football ?!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.19.10)
see "IDF", this is another reason to demolish the separation fence. captian Schachter, Are you ready to play soon in Palestine?! We need to be a strong team, coach ;)
4. Sport can indeed build bridges
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.19.10)
More proof that we need more sports activities involving us and our cousins. American football, real football (soccer), basketball, heck - isn't USAID teaching the Pals baseball and softball? Soccer is probably the best bridge builder...we Judeans already play against cousins from Jerusalem and the teams shake hands at the end no matter who wins/loses, so why not from both sides of the green line?
5. wait.... it doesn't make sense!
Rami Kurdi ,   Jerusalem   (08.19.10)
"A problem arose: The four Arab players had moved to the eastern side of the separation fence over the summer and have applied for a Palestinian ID card." Question one: did they "move" or the wall came and separated them from the rest of Jerusalem? Question two: Applied for a Palestinian ID? Ok, this means they used to have Blue Jerusalem ID cards which most Palestinians in the city have, so far. Can you convince anyone that they gave up on their Jerusalem ID cards to apply for the PA Green ID cards? Come on! It is so obvious.. the dudes despite betraying their country and people by playing with settlers, the most obvious symbol of occupation, still got their rights to live in Jerusalem revoked by Israel because they are not Jewish. So now, who is racist and godfather of apartheid?
6. to # 4,
Are ,   Oslo, Norway   (08.19.10)
why not from both sides of the green line? Obviously you are a master of geography. The settlements in the 1967 occupied West Bank are on the other side of the green line where Tel Aviv and her sisters are. So your smart suggestion can be good to bring fanatic religious zionists from the West Bank settlements together with fanatic secular zionists from Tel Aviv. The Palestinians are out of it anyway because you don't see them as human beings and don't want them there no matter what.
7. from ramallah
Anas ,   Ramallh   (08.19.10)
YES, THATS WHAT THE PALESTINIANS NOW NEED WE ARE SICK OF WARS AND CONFLICTS
8. Model of Co-Existance, There you go
Nour ,   One-State الدولة   (08.19.10)
Finally a heart-warming headline. To all the opponents of the One-State just and democratic solution, here is a final example why I personally haven't given up hope. Who is to say that a long conflict is not solvable? There answer lies in coexistance in sport, music, culture, and business. We Arab Palestinians are willing and capable of working with Jews even Zionists so long as the formers give up their political hegemony in Palestine Israel. You want to live in Jewish ghettos that's fine (Maronites and about every confession in Lebanon live in ghettos, more or less). Are the fruits of the Kindgom of Peace not enough for you?
9. Mousa Elayyan is so hot
Friend of Dorothy ,   Palestine   (08.19.10)
10. Reality
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (08.19.10)
This is just an example of how things used to be before Oslo and the Second Intifada! Arabs and Jews worked together, respected each other and invited to each other houses. Today, thanks to Oslo, everything is dangerous, everything is forbidden. But the people are the same! People, common people, don't hate each other, don't use any chance (like some talkbackers) to attack the others. We could live in peace and harmony if it wasn't for politicians and foreigners looking for fame!!!!
11. to #1
bandora etrog   (08.19.10)
why should any person have to live under the control of another? you specifically state that jews should be in control and palestinians should acquiesce. that's not co-existence, that's racist domination.
12. Are from Oslo has obviously never been to Israel/Palestine
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.19.10)
Are, you are obviously a master of ignorance. Here in Judea (the "west bank" for you) we see the Palestinians all day every day. The live around us, share the roads with us, some work in our towns, and many shop at our stores. You are not just an ignorant person in Oslo, but you try to push propaganda lies on us from 4000 km away. Instead of sitting at your keyboard where you seem to be soaking up anti-Israel propaganda, I invite you to come here and see for yourself that you are wrong. I will even pick you up at the airport and drive you out here where we will go to the new local supermarket where Palestinians and Israelis both work there and shop there. In fact, on many days there are more Palestinians than Israelis. All of this in the west bank with no "fanatic religious zionists". I challenge you to come see for yourself, speak to the Israelis and Palestinians here, and stop showing the world that you are a sucker for anti-Israel propaganda.
13. Are, one more thing - bring a soccer ball
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.19.10)
and I'll arrange a football game with Israelis and Palestinians and Norwegians from the TIPH police force in Hebron. That will be your contribution to helping peace.
14. Village for Peace
YOUSEF ,   Jerusalem   (08.19.10)
Peace,Love,Coexistance, accepting each others, work together, talk to each others and learn and live with good neighbours side by side. Its not a dream;I wish there are investors who can build a model for Peace village where Israelis and Palestinians will share everything,Israeli and palestinian kids are going together to the same classroom, play in the same playgrounds, a mosque is built next a synagoge, like in the old ages, when Shlomo was visiting Ahmad in the Eid and MUsa is visiting his neighbour Itzhac in the hospital,we are after all a human beings.I beleive that there is a big room for live together. I am not dreaming, there is no loosers and winners,we are all suffering, if not now tommorrow. Let us give hope to others and ask officials from both sides to stop talking in front of the cameras but rather doing peace and not talking about it. I am sure there are many kids they don't know even what does it mean or did not see a playground,a garden or a picnic. Indeed they are an excellent model for coexistance and peace.
15. #6 Europe's #1 Anti Semitic Country
David Aarons ,   Jerusalem Israel   (08.19.10)
Norway followed by Sweeden are now considered the two most Anti Semitc countries in Europe and it goes far beyond the conflict here/ just check out their long anti Jewish histories ,Jews in those countries sitting on their suitcases some already here.Oslo show your humanity where you live and help guard the repeatedly desecrated and firebombed synagogue there.See Israel Tv English News Panorama video report this week.
16. Can I join whenever i'm in Israel?
Avi ,   Belgium   (08.19.10)
17. Rebels indeed
Loyal Jew ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
Rebels against Hashem: consorting with the enemy for the purpose of playing sports! And you wonder why the weather is so hot.
18. #15 Anti-Semitic Country
Solomon ,   Bklyn   (08.19.10)
Yes-Follow your own advice and check out the countries Jewish histories! Ex: SWEDEN- During WW2 they accepted ANYONE able to reach their shores (unlike the Swiss), including all Jews that came thanks to the Danes. Without Sweden these Jews would have had no place to go. They were able to become citizens. Bialik even wrote a wonderful poem about it. Maybe it's different now but give credit where credit is due. And READ before you speak.
19. Who is a (loyal) Jew?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.19.10)
Loyal to what? Loyal to whom? Or as we here in the Judean People's Front say: You're not loyal, you're a lunie! There is no rebellion against Hashem on the team (you obviously have never been to a game, nor do you know them, so you're guilty of motzi shem ra). And since when are sports assur? If sports are assur, then buster you're use of the internet is definitely assur! And what "enemy"? Goyim have lived in Israel for thousands of years, through every Jewish kingdom there was here. The weather is hot cuz loyal lunatics blow too much hot air.

Let's just be clear: A "good person" doesn't necessarily mean "I'm OK with Jews". Many Jew-hating civilizations and people were also considered "good". Shopping in the same store doesn't mean everything is OK. It just means the store has good prices. After they pass their security check, should we also let these "good" palestinians into the army if they want to serve? What about as a bodyguard for the prime minister? 'Don't exaggerate', you say. I ask you, 'Why not'? If they past a security check, then surely we trust them? Let's not deny the facts. We've seen for millenia what the arabs want with us, but it's a Jewish sickness that we don't see the reality. We forget to see the other side of things, like Jews being attacked by arabs walking home from shul on Shabbat, or snipers killing parents and children driving home, or attacking Yeshivot. Just because it doesn't make the news headlines or happens in your cushy homes doesn't mean it isn't still happening. Look at the comments on this article: The Jews lap up the co-existence dream, the arabs say it's great for us and we still want you out. Well, you can't demand rights when you advocate killing the people you want rights from. Wake up Jews and understand the arab mentality: when they feel they're weak, they act meek. When they feel they have the upper hand, they wipe you out. Oslo is a great example. Once we gave them weapons, all hell broke loose. Lucky for our enemies that we have such a short memory.

you should come watch a game sometime, i hear they are quite entertaining.
22. What a pack of LIES!!!
Sam ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.20.10)
If this wasn't so sad, it would almost be funny! Anyone who is involved with the IFL knows that the author of this article DID NOT do any research and just took the word of the Rebels players. If he had, he would have discovered that the Rebels were forced to remove politically insensative anti-Arab material from their web site, that they are known as the dirtiest team in the IFL, that they pay players illegally, that they are on the verge of being boycotted by the entire rest of the league and that they are a racist, nationalist bunch of thugs who were forced onto the rest of the league because the sponsor, Robert Kraft required expansion. This article seems to have missed all these facts.
23. #22 Sam
mike ,   nyc, soon Israel   (08.20.10)
you mut have played for/been a fan of one of the teams that the Rebels beat up on last year. I am joining the Rebels for the upcoming season. the REBEloution is upon us!!!
24. wow
(08.20.10)
Theirs a lot of great feedback here. Most of it is helpful and enlightening, while some pretty negative. Listen, the whole point is that were tired of war. Its a difficult mission, but if we could help heal and remove some of the damage done by racism, and still just have fun and play football. then its a damn good day. Lets try to see one another as brothers and sisters, human beings for once. And of course, watch some Rebels games as well. If poeple use football as an outlet to hide from the tension and just have fun than its obvious ppl are ready to change. -Rebel player ipodina@yahoo.com
25. Rebel Scum
Avi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.22.10)
#22 Sam is totally on themark with his remarks. This article is trash. The Rebels are a blight on the IFL. They are horribly bad sporstmen, with very dirty play on the field, and a whole bunch of unethical behavior off the field. The whole league knows they have been paying players under the table, and they have openly stolen a number of players from other teams by doing this. If the IFL ever really wants to build a true football league, they should start by disbanding this pathetic excuse for a sports team. Integrity should be a priority, not an inconvenience.
26. haters
(08.22.10)
i played on the rebels last year and lead the league in personal fouls. almost all of them were absolute legal plays like cut-blocking. israel is a soccer country which is a finesse game but football is a warriors game, and the refs arent used to seeing aggressive play like that. you guys are probably from the lions or sabres and your teams lineman held on every play so dont call us dirty. football is growing in israel whether u like it or not. and really you're going to boycott the whole league because you refuse to play us? you cant keep this quiet no matter how much you try because the REBELution is happening!!
27. p.s.
(08.22.10)
as the article stated, it was the LIONS who wouldn't let.the ellayans and achmads play on their team. you have no business calling the rebels racist. . on the contrary, we are playing for a higher cause and advancing peace
