1. Why are we responsible
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (08.16.10)
With the TENS of THOUSANDS killed by Palestinians, millions of dollars in airliners destroyed by Palestinians, invalid passengers thrown into the Ocean by Palestinians why are we worried about this? This is a NON-Story that is on the media deck to become a controversy. Let this story go. It is meaningless. Besides, it would only have been a matter of time before some Palestinian killed her for some insignificant trangression that challenged his manhood.
2. if it was a American Jewish
Joy ,   NJ   (08.16.10)
family and their the kid was shot by a Palestinian ; a US judge would have given them $100 million for their loss. however there is no justice tn this world for kids like Abir Aramin
3. Your state with no heart !
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.16.10)
Abeer is not the first child, unfortunately will not be the last that your country is responsible for their death :( How the killer feels when he looks into her beautiful face ?!!
4. No. 2 Joy
NYC Girl   (08.16.10)
Actually, there have been American Jewish kids who were killed by Palestinian terrorists...and nobody gave their families $100 million for their loss. Not only that, but in the case of Abir Aramin, the judge did rule in favor of the family, so you can't say they haven't gotten justice.
5. I'M PUZZLED BY THE CONFLICTS???
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.16.10)
It seem the autopsy would have been conclusive. But, apparently the parents had a pathological report...but doesn't say by who...that determined she was struck by a rubber bullet. But the Israel Police say an autopsy showed she was not killed by a rubber bullet. Now both parties have motivations to lie about what really happened. Couldn't they exhume her body and have a neutral party...somebody both groups agree to...and do another exam to see what happened. It seems when the results directly contradict each other, it's the only thing to do. Rather than take sides based on politics, why not at least try to get to the truth, and let the chips fall where they may.
6. #2, can u read?
courtney ,   philly, usa   (08.16.10)
the article clearly states the judge ruled against the state and is providing justice for her death. did the same occur in 2000 ramallah lynching?

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.16.10)
Guess what, ace? The Jewish children who have been callously murdered by Palestinian terrorists over the years were also very beautiful. Has it occurred to you that if you were to stop your thuggish behavior, none of your children would die? When will you learn to love your children as much as you love violence and terror?
8. To: Dan at No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.16.10)
Agreed.
9. Why the conflicting reports????
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.16.10)
Since both parties have a reason to lie, it bothers me that the reports of how young girl died, are diametrically opposite. The girls parents claim to have a pathological report that indicates a rubber bullet cause her death' The Israeli Police claim to have autopsy results that say it was not a rubber bullet. Why not exhume the body, have a neutral forensic doctor...that both parties agree to... re-examine the body, and find out the cause of death. I don't understand how the court, can come any conclusion, when two completely different reports contradict one another. Unless there is something were not being told. Nobody in their right mind, would want an innocent 10 year old girl to die. It seems we should want the truth, as opposed to people's political views, deciding what happened. I have a daughter and a son, and no parent should have to outlive their children, my heart goes out to the parents of this young girl, my condolences, I'm truly sorry for your tragedy. Regardless of the results, I can't imagine how horrible you must feel.
10. #1 Do the math
Rami ,   Canada   (08.16.10)
From the early 1900's when the immigration started only a couple of thousands of jews died tops at the hands of palestinians. From that same date count how many palestinians israel has killed since 1948 only and you will get that TENS OF THOUSANDS number you like so much.
11. Salma - how do you feel about the Hatuel family?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.16.10)
For readers who don't know: Palestinian gunmen fired on the Hatuel family car driving in Gaza in 2004. The car stopped, with Hatuel wounded and her four daughters inside. The gunmen then walked up to the car and shot the mother, Tali Hatuel, in the head, then shot each of her four daughters aged 11, 9, 7 and 2. Tell us, Salma, how do you feel about the Palestinian gunmen who looked these 4 little girls and then murdered them at point blank range? Did a Palestinian judge ever issue a warrant for the arrest of the gunmen? Did the Palestinian public react with anger that in the name of "Palestinian resistance" an unarmed woman and her four little children were brutally murdered? The answer, of course, is no, the Palestinians really don't care that their "heroes" shoot and kill Israeli mothers and children. This isn't anything new. It's been going on since before 1948. Why do you think we don't know about what goes on in the minds of Palestinian killers when they look into the faces of Jewish children? To us, you Palestinians have black hearts, and you embrace a culture based on the lust for blood and vengeance.
12. If she was shot with a rubber bullet
Israeli   (08.16.10)
the soldiers must be charged. We hunt down people who planned or commited violence. The Palestinians should have the same.
13. #10 Rami, check your figures
Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.16.10)
It depends on how you count who killed who but I am sure you will manipulate the numbers to show that Palestinians suffered more than Israelis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_casualties_of_war http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_casualties_of_war

You're just a fraud, and everyone knows it.
15. How tragic
deb ,   uk   (08.16.10)
What a beautiful child, yet another victim of the occupation. I hope her family get a thorough investigation and can find closure.
16. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.16.10)
Not so fast. You cannot include war -- the Arabs started all six, by the way; Israel fought defensive wars on each occasion. So the number of dead Palestinian Arabs drops dramatically lower than the number of Jews who fell vicrtim to Palestinian terrorism and Palestinian violence. Perhaps you have forgotten the pogroms in Hebron and Jerusalem in the 1930s? Using numbers that include war dead is punishing Israel for having a better military. How fair is that?
17. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.16.10)
What "occupation?" Your ignorance defies imagination. Just so you know, Judea and Samaria are considered non-sovereign territory. Israel acquired Judea and Samaria in the course of fighting a defensive war (I trust you will recall that it was Jordan that attacked Israel in 1967.) It is a universally-accepted principle that non-sovereign territory acquired in the course of fighting a defensive war belongs to the victor. That would be Israel. You may not like it, Deb, but that's too bad. Israel's presence in the West Bank is fully legal. It's the Arabs who need to be repatriated -- to Jordan -- fully in accord with the late King Hussein's grant of Jordanian citizenship to all Arabs AND THEIR PROGENY in 1950. You're a little light on facts, Deb. If you don't mind embarrassing yourself, I'm certainly happy to prove you wrong, any time, every time. You actually make it quite easy.
18. Full story please. Ynet writes only Pal family side
rebecca ,   Modiin   (08.16.10)
What did the IDF say re this incident? Dont suppose our left wing court even bothered to hear it. Two conflicting death reports and nothing to explain? So our wonderful court just ignores one?
19. m#6 remember Iman alHas? Israeli commander shot her 20 times
Joy ,   NJ   (08.16.10)
and emptied his rifle magazine into the 12 year old girl was found not guilty by the same court that you are glorifying.
20. :: Violation of the rules of engagement
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.16.10)
Such violations of the IDF rules of engagement occur on a regular basis however it is a very rare event that an Israeli court would ever rule on such a matter as in this case. Credit should be given to the bereaved family for their determination in demanding justice for their child’s needless death. It is noteworthy to read that the family presented a pathological report which determined that she was struck by a rubber bullet while the Israel Police presented a autopsy showing that the child was not killed by a rubber bullet, this is indicative of the culture of cover ups among the Israeli armed forces where reports are falsified and evidence is tampered with of the offenders can enjoy impunity for justice. It is also disturbing to read some of the TalkBacks on this thread such as #1 from Dan who would rather treat the needless death of an innocent child as a “non-story” which is “meaningless”, it goes without saying that Dan’s sentiments would be totally different/the reverse if it was an Israeli child that was needlessly killed by an Palestinian. #14, who agrees with #1, claims that another poster is a “fraud” even though she has proven to be a fraud (re: “Daniel”), like #1 she would rather divert attention from the sad fact that an innocent Palestinian child was needlessly killed by the IDF by dredging up every accessible account/report of Israeli children who have been killed by Palestinians as if this somehow negates the fact that the IDF have needlessly or wantonly killed Palestinian children.
21. To: No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.16.10)
Ever hear of Ma'alot, Joy? And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Whole heckuva lot of Palestinian suicide bombers, who have racked up a huge death toll of Jews. Lots and lots of children. I guess that dead Jewish children don't particularly interest you. That makes you pretty cold-blooded, you know?

Kol ha'kavod lecha!
23. :: I see the same old lies are being trotted out (#17)
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.17.10)
The simple matter is that occupation by a belligerence power (ie: Israel) can never lead to sovereignty over occupied or conquered lands of the enemy people or nation. The refs are: Hague Regulations (1907) and UN Charter (1945) et al. I would also remind the readers that Sarah B has never backed up her silly claims with any references to documented and internationally recognized laws. The UN, of which Israeli is a member and therefore bound by its determinations, has rules on many occasions that the acquisition of territory by war is inadmissibility. I cite for example: Res. 237 (Jun. 14, 1967) - Emphasizes “the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war”, emphasizes that member states have a commitment to abide by the U.N. Charter, and calls for the “Withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied” during the June 1967 war. What can Sarah B cite to back up her silly claims? Nothing.
24. :: Re: #21
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.17.10)
I cannot recall any mention by Sarah B where she expressed any interest, let alone ‘remorse’, in regard to the death of any of the 1,400+ Palestinian children who have been killed or murdered by Israelis since 2000. Does that make her “cold-blooded” or just a hypocrite?
25. don't bother to read #23#24 its always pure hatred of jews
rachel ,   usa   (08.17.10)
26. Sarah B you're no phony
Leon ,   US   (08.17.10)
You are the real thing - the always present TB spouting your Isracist hate.......... If you're not a Jew to you you are not human and do not matter..... how typical all your posts are.
27. Matty Groves?
Howard Friedman ,   Baltimore, USA   (08.17.10)
Another useless purveyor of "facts". Please do as I say and not as I do. Lets choose to ignore this one. His citings have been proven inadmissable so many times yet they keep reappearing. Please do not be taken in. The established fact is that Israel has been the victim nation and the world has chosen to allow it to exist only as long as it can fight back. These posts can be a source of providing information that can help keep Israel strong and our people committed. Don't waste time answering posers. People truly seeking an understanding of the issues will find conflicting information. But those need to be examined with the full facts and the complete picture. Posers only cite what they want to and claim it is the "law" on that issue. Absurd. Just let it go and soon he will also.
28. #11 I feel ashamed, Brian Cohen ,
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.17.10)
Is this your answer Brian?! Excuse the guilt of the ugliest!!! Anyone who kills a child is a criminal and with no heart, if some Palestinians have black hearts, as you claimed Brian, do you imitate them ?! Is killing "Israeli "child justify the killing of Palestinian child, and vice versa ?!! What a pity !
29. Matty - meet me for Pizza on legal west bank land?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.17.10)
Hey Matty - I like your "the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war”. So come meet me for a slice at Rami Levi at the Gush Etzion junction, since the land must be kosher Israeli land in the west bank. Gush Etzion was legally owned Jewish land pre-1948, and was overrun and captured by Arabs in the war. (we won't go into the Arab war crimes after they murdered all the Jewish POWs) That makes the Palestinians the occupiers out here in these here parts of Judea, and we are the liberators, no? Or so you seem to be saying. I'll be the pizza, you buy the beers?
30. Matty Groves - disproportionate response
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.17.10)
Groves is a perfect example of how the western mindset has been poisoned. You'll notice that all the calls in the world are for Israeli accountability for the killing of a civilian. Yet the Palestinians have had official policies for decades of explicitly attacking Israeli civilians, yet there has never been a call for an investigation, for a war crimes trial, or for accountability. Groves shows the mental weakness that has infected the west, where killing of innocents is ok so long as it is done by the Palestinians. This is the true disproportionate response: Israel is held accountable, the Palestinians are not. Sorry, Groves, but international law also demands the Palestinians obey the law. They don't, yet nobody is calling them on it. Well, I'm calling you on it. Let's see proportional application of international law - and that means your responses about the Pals are gonna have to pick up bigtime.
