1. The real reason
Arie ,   BaGolan   (08.17.10)
that the Eurabians and surrounding Islamist states are so pissed off at us. We keep showing them we are better than them at EVERYTHING!
2. Just checked again
Arie ,   BaGolan   (08.17.10)
aqnd not one word in Haaretz. They're too busy helping Hezbollah write up reports accusing Israel of killing Hariri
3. Mark my words: Israel is primed to becoming an economic hub

Harness the incredible brights of the Haredi community and you will be writing your own ticket. (These kids have been taught to learn. They, given the opportunity can master any subject handed to them I know what I am talking about...My own kid who sat thru 7 years of yeshiva, breezed thru a four year HS course in these core subjects of English, Math and Sciences in one year.) The entire western world has disbanded its industrial might and sold it to China. Israel has the technological smarts to jump start massive R@D which will enable the Chinese, not the Americans to become the number #1 economic power. The Chinese can only achieve this thru Israeli technological innovation and thought. America is yesterdays news. What they have done over the past 20 years, by dumbing themselves down thru PC thought and social engineering will take many many generations to recoup. Israel is primed to be the R@D capital of the world, bar none. Dont lose that opportunity..Its yours for the taking. Start with English, Math and Sciences. These subjects must be taught from Grade 1..You must reach for excellence.Failure is not an option.
4. Charideem are holding the economy back

Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer says " As for decreasing poverty rates, Fischer noted that the ultra-Orthodox community would have to take an active part in that effort, by having more of its members join the workforce. Today, he added, only 25% of the community contributed to the workforce" (end quote) In the meantime our tax money is used to fund this so called life style of the remaining 75% who contribute nothing to society and are milking the system dry.

7. Per Capita increase?
Michael Diamant ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.18.10)
The problem is that Israels figures are not impressive even though they are good. Per capita increase in Israel is very low despite that the BNP/capita is much lower than comparing countries. Israels pop growth is around 1.8% so 4.7-1.8:- 2.9 % good but not good enough. Eurozone pop increase is 0.2% so 4.1-0.2:- 3.9 %.
8. So much for those silly boycotts

9. Growth is good--but for whom?
adam eliyahu   (08.18.10)
Recent statistics show that the 10% of Americans who are rich have more money than the bottom 90% combined. I would like to check the statistics. Is the average Israeli better off or is it harder to make an average salary than it was ten years ago?

Israel has a much smaller economy in comparison to Germany, France or Japan. And only a few wealthy Israeli exporters are actually profiting from this growth.
