31. Cry me a river
Californian ,   San Diego, CA, USA   (08.19.10)
These so-called "activists" tried to break a military blockade and then violently confronted the soldiers who were legally enforcing the legal blockade. Honestly, if you go around trying to break through military blockades, you should be grateful that your ship isn't torpedoed and that you can whine to the international press that you lost your laptop (not your life) in the process. I suggest that the revenue from the black market sale of the stolen laptops be used to pay the hospital bills of the IDF soldiers who were stabbed.
32. Stolen laptops
David ,   Ojai, California   (08.19.10)
For 62 years we have heard that the moved back to Israel because God had given the land to them. Well, He also gave the Jews the Ten Commandments including the prohibition against stealing. I don't think God appreciates the mockery of this Restriction by those commentators who want to continue to live on His land.
33. What's the big deal, pirates' job is to steal
Zico ,   Brazil   (08.19.10)
Hey guys, what's the big deal, the world expected that piracy would happen in international water, so please expect the normal piracy activities to happen to. They stole the ship so according to the pirate's common practice, what's in the ship are meant to be taken away
34. TOLD U THIS THE MOST IMMORAL & SHAMELESS ARMY IN THE WORLD !

37. proof positive of IDF piracy
Gerry ,   Los Angeles, USA   (08.19.10)
That is all.
38. Stolen from terrorists or from terrorist supporters?
Jae ,   Lynn US   (08.19.10)
If we took bin ladens laptop, or obamas buddy bill ayers laptop would that be a crime? People are being butchered all over the world and we have front line header for a stolen laptop from the terrorist Hamas loving flotilla??????? YNET you have bought the lies of the left like a chump interacting with a pimp. Hard to shedd crocodile tears here
39. Re #10: Personal Responsibility
Leon ,   US   (08.19.10)
Whole countries aren't held responsible for a few of its citizens' misdeeds. That should include Israel. But If you are Israeli then you can hold all Palestinians responsible - justify collective punishment and plan and carry out Cast Lead.
40. Hey #22 Israeli apologist
Leon ,   US   (08.19.10)
You say "The soldier's behavior (I corrected your spelling OK?) does not reflect on Israel or the IDF. But read these TB's here and you see just how much they do reflect the beliefs of Israel and the IDF......
41. Capture of Ramzi Yousef
Mike Durosky ,   Aurora USA   (08.19.10)
We captured Ramzi Yousef an Al Qaeda Leader in Karachi , Pakistan around 1996. The hard drive on his computer that we copied revealed what was going to happen on September 11, 2001..Too bad our goverment did not take the intelligence seriously...Maybe the CIA later sold the computer ....
42. #3 - rather, to deliver weapons to kill people
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
the supposed humanitarian aid that so many claim the "Palestinians" need end up in open-air markets in Tel Aviv. Remember the meat donated to "Palestinians" only to be shipped into Israel for sale?
43. #12 - Nour - Bring the new iPhone and HP laptop
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
I need an upgrade and am looking forward to shopping on the "ship of fools". Yalla, already.
44. #24 - haha, now enemy soldiers are "innocent" victims?
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
Sure, those damn evil Zionist soldiers - how dare they kill the innocent Hamas member simply for firing a firecracker at Zionists. The Egyptian soldiers are not targets because they attacked Israel...they are victims of Zionists. And Hamas...they were obviously under Mossad control when they fired rockets from school yards and mosques. The children used as human shields? No, Hamas grabbed them to pull the to safety...of course. And of course - the aid workers were innocent. The pipes in their hands? Just makeshift vuvuzelas to celebrate peace. The guns they used to shoot Zionists evil solders? Just on-board to hunt seagulls. Sadly, your pseudonym is accurate...you do seem to represent today's numb world citizen.
45. #23 - Sean. Intl laws don't exist in Canada?
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
Apparently, the directives of San Remo in 1920 haven't made it to the shores of snooty Quebec. But one thing for sure - no matter how many times you repeat your lie...it just doesn't make it true, except in your own head. So, we invite your ilk to break tke legal war-time blockade around Gaza (where no one seems to be in crisis as claimed) and prepare for the material goods to be taken again, under Intl Law. If the crew decides to get belligerent....well, let's just say, a precedent has been set. Perhaps the other 5 ships, and not the Turkish one, should be the role model to follow.
46. #23 - re: "nasty thieving Arabs"...
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
Funny, today 4 Arabs were indicted for stealing weapons in Israel and selling them to "Palestinians". Guess how many lives will be lost in that transaction? How many will be lost with the theft of a shitty aid worker's laptop?
47. #7 - Didn't Pal women already dispute Turkish claims?
William ,   Israel   (08.19.10)
Infact, didn't they demand an apology from Turkey for voicing such fabrications?? For a minute there, I thought you were talking about the Egyptian border guards who like to rummage through women's luggage and accost them in the streets often.
48. #14 - Hilarious!!!
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (08.19.10)
You don't know what the meaning of a failed state is. As our standard of living, our economy, our ecology, our institutions of academia surge ahead, in a world of economic crises. And when our soldiers violate the law they are prosecuted. You truly are an idiot.
49. #1 right, this is a real shame !
aviG   (08.19.10)
people around the world hate us for no reason so, if we give them anything to jump on, how happy they are to find it to justify their hate !!! But, in the end, these born jew haters still lose because they remain sided with evil, for nothing or for something.
50. Selling potential evidence. Brilliant move.
Zvi   (08.19.10)
Heaven only knows what information might have been on the disk drives. Guys who did this are morons.
51. More posturing from "Matty Groves":
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (08.19.10)
"It's quite apparent that looting by IDF soldiers is quite commonplace." says folksong poster "Matty Groves" based on several problematic incidents. This, as I noted yesterday, is "Matty's" pattern, to demonize and propagandize against Israel based on an insignificant number of incidents and then generalize. He rarely ever criticizes the real culprits of corruption, mideast Arabs. And why would he? Yesterday he noted one post where he criticized an Arabic entity for using human shields yet he constantly critiques Israel. He also posts in other news outlets such as Maan but, again, declines to critique Muslim Arabs. What does that make "Matty Groves"? I think a sophisticated propagandist against Israel whose modus operandi has been discovered and publicized. This will not change "Matty" but is written for the Reader so he/she will know what "Matty's" patterns and intent really are.
52. Hey Israeli demonizers: As if corruption
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (08.19.10)
and theft does not exist in the mideast. Two points: In Israel it becomes exposed and in Israel it's considered morally wrong and illegal. Do you Israeli critics ever criticize the genuine immorality of all the Muslim dominated countries of the mideast? I think not.
53. soldiers wage
Dov ,   Usa   (08.19.10)
As we all know soldiers get paid very little money for their sacrifice. There is no excuse for thievary. An isolated incodent shouldn't cause Israel any more grief over the Foltila isedent than it already has.
54. Let The Turks Have Them
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (08.19.10)
These uniformed criminals are a disgrace to the IDF and Israel.
55. Activist trap but highlights problems with IDF
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.19.10)
Israelis have long overlooked problems in IDF, partly due to long war time views and need to defend its people. Fixing problems may sound easy but far more complicated than many are willing to admit.
56. Isreal is Demonstrating the Difference...
Alana ,   Denver, USA   (08.19.10)
... between a nation of honor and a nation of dishonor. A respectable nation learns that a few of its members have done wrong. That nation investigates, finds the truth, and then delivers justice to punish the guilty and compensate the victims. Would we expect to see that kind of honorable justice in Turkey? Lebanon? Gaza? Syria? Iran? If found guilty, the Israeli soldiers involved will be shamed for a long, long time. By its actions, Israel is proving itself an honorable nation for doing the right thing, even when it means punishing its own sons.
57. Big deal
pauly ,   USA   (08.19.10)
theyre lucky israel gave them the ships back
58. No they won't!
someone who   (08.19.10)
the article says they sold those goods for the money! they had no intention of returning it and it wasn't part of the security procedure you talked about, it was plain theft!
59. An Israeli stealing...that's news?
yehuda ,   israel   (08.19.10)
60. Mark from Georgia and Blackbeard are right
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.19.10)
These rotten 'soldiers should be punished for their unacceptable behaviour and sullying the name of the IDF. Those of you who believe that stopping the Marmara was an act of piracy anyway...why are you complaining?.... piracy and looting go hand in hand. Nevertheless and unfortunately for you, intending to run the Gaza blockade was illegal ... and cannot be compared to (although not condonable) pinching a few laptops etc by a few scumbags
