Al   (08.19.10)
drivel that is rampant in the west to excellence in the Sciences, Maths and Languages. English, Math and Sciences along with Hebrew laguage and Jewish culture must take front row and centre in the school system. Israel has the opportunity to becoming the R@D capital of the world. China, those are the ones who have the money today will invest heavily in Israeli R@D in their pursuit to achieve world economic dominance. America is in meltdown mode...They produce more lawyers than scientists. They are the kings in BS management, social egineering and drivel control. Israel is primed to becoming a major economic hub indeed, a major economic player. The first step is education education education...Now is the time. Educate your young, push em to excellence and you will all reap the rewards.

Prof Elon Lindenstraus wins Math prize: some people figure it out right.I wish the leaders of the country would do the same.
25. To#19 futilities?
Thinkagain ,   jerusalem   (08.19.10)
Can you tell me on which Book the code Napoleon,WEst europas legalsystem,Marxisme,Christianism,Islamisme, the United States legal system is based? In the same Tora, the Haredi are devoting their life. You are a proud jew,and you have all the reasons to be proud.
26. Kol ha'kavod
Chatich   (08.19.10)
Does the prize come with any cash? Perhaps the professor could then invest in a comb! Just kidding, I know this is a very popular hair style among scientists and mathematicians. Rock on...
27. HE'S THE LUCKY ONE
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne,   (08.19.10)
Hearty congratulations to Professor Lindenstrauss on a magnificent achievement. The reason for my subject heading is the thought that his life has been preserved for this, unlike the lives of so many Israelis and Jews. The examples of so many Jewish thinkers show much must have been lost to the world by the deplorable premature deaths, killings,of countless Jews. It's a loss that is inestimable. At least,in the State of Israel when there is some semblance of peace,Jews can aspire to reach their potentials and achieve them. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
28. Meh.
Me   (08.19.10)
I wonder why a specific press is overshadowing the fact that he is sharing the medal with two french and one swiss...
29. The Israeli wasn't the only winner
Mich   (08.20.10)
There were three other winners this year, including two Frenchmen and one Swiss guy, this article could at least mention them instead of making it look like Israel alone won the prize. Congrats to the winners anyway.
30. to 25 , yes futilities
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.20.10)
i answerred to this "leid" who talked about gemara . Without Torah people also don't murder , steal and so on . And , legal systems also take those ideas , who happen to be in the Torah . Don't forget that in many countries there is a separation between state and superstition [ sorry , religion for you ] and this is certtainly not Torah based .
