Right Salma, Banki wouldn't have the courage not even to stand by his own country. He's a coward and a useless character.
3. What drivel!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.21.10)
Why is it that there is no call for North Korea and South Korea to "show leadership, courage and responsibility to realize the aspirations of both peoples?" Isn't it time for North Korea and South Korea to seize the opportunity "that the hope of a better future for the people of the region to live in peace, security and freedom can be fully realized?" Hmm? Guess not. Wonder why. I guess the Secretary General must have missed the part where the Arabs have attacked Israel on no fewer than six occasions. I guess the Secretary General must have missed the part where despicable Palestinian terrorists have targeted Jews and Israelis for over sixty years. The Secretary General -- no surprise here; it's the United Nations -- isn't all that observant. Actually, he's kind of stupid. Why does a separate set of rules exist for Israel than that which exists for every other nation? The United Nations is a fraud -- living in New York for part of the year as I do, I can assure you it is an expensive one, actually -- and the Secretary General is a phony. .
4. such a waste of time and energy....
Dana Rothschild ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.21.10)
suppose.... only suppose..... Abbas and Netanyahu agree to borders, to security, to everything and will sing the treaty.... what about Gaza? Haniye will recognize Abbas' administration? I don't even waste a thought about recognition of Israel... but Abbas government ? will they? nu, git..... Bibi and Mahmoud will dine with Hussajn O and make some shopping... :))))))
5. UN is part of the problem, not the solution
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.21.10)
Anybody remember that it was the UN that pulled the peace keepers out in 1967 that led to the 6-day war? The UN was spineless then, and it's spineless still. The same types of overpaid UN functionaries still dominate the organization. Their goal is to pad their salaries, issues fat supply contracts to their cronies (or take big kickbacks from the winners), and to suck up to the third world and non-aligned countries who get those same fat UN contracts (and thus the fat kickbacks to the UN toadies). The Pal-Israeli conflict can't end, otherwise it''ll be the end of UNRWA and all those cushy jobs.... If Ban wants to seize the opportunity, he should start by reforming the UN.
6. Mid east peace talks
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (08.21.10)
Are you kidding me, They are a big waist of time and money. The Palistinians are not ready for a state they can;t even rule themselves. SOrry Ban, it's a waist of time
7. As long as there's talk, there's peace. Keep talking...
Shalom   (08.21.10)
8. You what's funny?????
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.22.10)
Hamas has already they will not honor any outcomes. These guys are the biggest idiots on the face of the earth. Gaza literally has an entire coastline...beachfront property...so to speak. Here in the U.S., developers would clamoring to get their hands on this. Heck, they would be building beachfront hotels, condo's etc.. The beaches would be filled with jet ski's, catamaran's, even lounge chair rentals. Here in Georgia people flock to Gulf in Florida, for spring breaks, summer break. The road along the coast you can rent scooter's, motorcycles, there are putt-putt golf courses set up, neat little restaurants set up right on the beach. But these idiots...Hamas...want to destroy Israel, instead of build a country. Hamas is so caught up in their own hatred...proved by their immediate rejection of direct talks...it's unbelievable. They just don't get it! They would rather continue to be beggars, dependent on Arab aid money, than build an economy of their own. They would rather beg for weapons, humiliating themselves and then die, just to get weapons from Iran. Of course with the precondition that they use the weapons to kill Israeli civilians. So when hear their is a crisis in Gaza...there isn't...don't feel bad. Gaza has everything it needs to build a resort town, everything except the will for peace.
9. OSLO 2
vitenberg ,   saint-mandé   (08.22.10)
Don't be too much optimistic. Washington's talks could be worse than Oslo. Bibi's wife dreams about new Oslo!
