1. Homosexuals raped by Basij??
William ,   Israel   (08.22.10)
So the regime is practicing homosexuality while beating homosexuals for being homosexuals... It's well known that those who have the highest degree of hate and violence against gays are those trying to ignore their own gay tenancies. Arafat let himself out of the closet every once in a while, perhaps the Ayatollehs need to do the same.
2. #1 very true
gays4israel ,   toronto   (08.22.10)
3. very sad
gay dad ,   Tel Aviv   (08.22.10)
The UN should do something about gays and lesbians oppressed in these countries.
4. No. 3 Gay Dad
NYC Girl   (08.22.10)
While I certainly don' t disagree with you, could it be realistic to think that a body like the UN, which has countries like Libya and Iran on its Human Rights Commission, would ever do anything to put an end to the oppression (and in the case of Iran, the execution) of gays in these countries? Unfortunately, when it comes to human rights, the UN is a moral cesspool with an obsessive focus on Israel, to the exclusion of the countries that are abusing the rights of minorities, women and homosexuals.
5. To William, #1
Brad ,   USA   (08.22.10)
You got it right. It's not the first time, what you described, has happened. Hitler was surrounded by homosexuals in his regime. The SS had a high population of them, as well. They did their jobs with gusto, didn't they. People don't like to talk about it, but the truth is the truth.
6. The Arab and Islamic world are hypocrites.
Jon_Boy   (08.22.10)
Homosexuality is widely practiced in the Arab world probably at a greater level than in the West and is quite acceptable in Arab countries just as long as it is done in secret. The moment two genuinley gay people come out and admit their love for each other then they are ruthlessly dealt with in a distastefully hypocritical manor.. The only time I have had other men triy to hit on me has been several times in Israel by Arabs. I have never had gay men try and hit on me in the West. I think that speaks volumes about Arabs and homosexuality.
8. Ahmadinejab: "no gay people in Iran"...
(08.22.10)
To iranian people: no solution than to get rid of him. I hope he will rot in jail one day for murdering and persecuting so many innocents.
9. if israel cares about gays from iran so much
borzog ,   usa   (08.23.10)
why don't they take them? propaganda.
10. Of course there are "No Gay people in Iran"...
Granny C ,   Ohio, USA   (08.23.10)
...That's because the Iranian regime promotes and even helps cover the cost of gender reassignment surgery. Being gay does not mean you want to be a woman, and being a lesbian does not mean that you want to be a man! This kind of mind set and "remedy" will only psychologically hurt the Iranian homosexual community even more. Such a disgustingly twisted "solution" of this regime, but when the shoe fits...
11. y gay people thinks they r the only one who r hunted
ghostq   (08.23.10)
did anyone asked even what persians do to chritians in thier own country, I personally know someone from Iran who happened to be ex persian, the chritians r being beating up by the police on weekly basis, some went to the underground. it's really horror films he show me, so stop whining like it's all about you, cause it's not, if you will open your eyes you will see there r others that suffer.
12. to #3 you kidding the UN is in Islamic states pocket
ghostq   (08.23.10)
they will do what the arab policy want them to do, and that is bad to any minority who needs real help, including afrika, look how fast they gave help to pakistan, but when the same happened in indonisia they didn't lift a finger.
13.  it's no one's business to control
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.23.10)
the emotions and bodies between 2 persons both the same sex or otherwise. besides, homosexuality has always been present in the Muslim and Arab world.

18. to #17 if you offer free beer than I won't mind
ghostq   (08.23.10)
I am not against the gay community, didn't occure to you that acording to my TB, just wanted to say, take a number, or in other words you r not alon, if they want more streight people to help them than they should see over their secluding policy, otherwise none will care.
