1. good, now all you need is to replace barak
ghostq   (08.22.10)
barak thinks he knows better than anyone else, the idiot is clueless and not willing to admite that, which make it sad really, welcome Galant and very good luck.
2. Galant does not shy away from victory and risk.

3. Whenever there is such FUSS about a position there is a row
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (08.22.10)
behind for bribe and corruption No man in this world, with little exception, fight for anything other than money So going IDF chief embezzled large monies and this position serve for corruption and comming IDF chief also will get rich Certainly it is not only their fight, it is all supporters at the end will get contracts from Army In short: when there is partisanship and fuss about official position it means corruption and embezzlement

Congratulations for Gen. Galant's nomination. But yes, what was the rush? To undermine Gaby Ahkenazi's authority ? Does anyone see another reason? Again, well done, Napoleon!

ghostq   (08.22.10)
to make me laugh, but you managed to do so, you see Tayfus in democratic way army leader is elected, but I guess you prefer totalitarian regim in which the army leader is the brother of the tyrant and that means he can do what ever he wants.
9. Anyone know about Galant?
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.22.10)
I have to admit, I know virtually nothing about Galant. Is he a leftist? I just don't trust ANY decision made by Ehud Barak.
10. Lets see his history shall we...Hmmm Sounthern command..
Al   (08.22.10)
wouldnt that have made him in charge of protecting Sderot and area form thousounds of kassams fired from Judenrein Gaza etc? Was he also one of the bright lights who carried out the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza for the good 'soldier' he was? This so called maven and yeled tov is supposed to proect the Jews of Israel? I rest my case...Poor leadership is continuing to render the once great IDF(48-67) to paper weight status. You keep promoting the same old, same old useless idiots who will not and cannot protect the country. Very sad indeed.

Moshe Dayan and Ariel Sharon in one. Good to have him on MY side!

I think Galant will live up to his namesake. He looks more like a Sharon in battle to me. In politics? Who knows.
14. galant and barak
alexi   (08.22.10)
barak has made a quick move appointing galant. His resume looks good and being on the ground with the soldiers in the field is to his credit unlike halutz and even barak himself who is remote. Ashkenazi has been a very good chief of staff and eisenkott is in his mold so the idf had other candidates. Forget about the galant document. I want ynet news reporters to investignate who issued paintball directives. My suspicion is that came from barak based on two considerations: a) Barak feels guilty about killing arabs and compensates by excessive concessions to them in return for nothing, a big zero. b) though he did some good things as commando and deserves credit for them, in his heart, he is like olmert, a coward so he apparently ran away from a training accident, he ran away from lebanon, he botched chinese farm operation, he needlessly offers assad golan heights, he bows before erdogan with his friend ben eliezer, he wanted to stop cast lead early not because he worried about a goldstone, more that he was afraid. Worse than anything, he sat there paralysed when 2 soldiers were lynched publically in ramallah. Moshe dann, ettinger, anyone else, please investigate my theory. If he did issue the order to ashkenazi, then bibi should replace him immediatlely with yaalon and that would be the end of the matter. I say it is barak.Maybe that is why he flooded the turkel commission with documents and lenghty statement to deflect them from getting to the paintball issue and why the idf did not use snipers from up top when they saw erdogans' boys outnumber on the deck.

"Farm team", including Tal Russo. What that means today I don't know, but they write that Galant and Russo are pals. I just have this nagging question about the Gaza conflict and why the IDF was unable to free Shalit. I've been poking around with the google translator for the farm team info, tho at least Russo claim's that is gone since the Sharon kid's indictment several years ago. I will be interested in the assignments of generals this fall, or even if that will occur considering the mess Barak has created. Yaalon seems to be one of the few generals that had any principles, but apparently Galant had no objection to the Gaza disengagement. Only Russo has said he wouldn't participate in it had he to do it over again.

"If Barak selected him we're in for trouble.May Gd protect us." I agree with you Chaim. Its time you start thinking about your next destination. May I suggest Siberia, or if you dont like the cold, you may like to consider Sirilanka...

22. Yoav is the name of one of King David's Generals.
Rivkah   (08.22.10)
(Yoav=Joab). King David will return with the Jewish Messiah to be King of Israel again while the Messiah is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Is Yoav Golant to be the real King David's General when all the nations of the earth attack Israel in the years to come? He will indeed, if the Messiah comes within four years which is possible. If not, another IDF General will join forces with the Messiah and King David who will rise from his tomb in the City of David and fight once again for his people. The Rabbis think most of the stories of the Tanakh and Torah are repeating in the last days of the Gentile era of the earth. You can see the wicked Haman in Iran (Persia) and Phaorah of Egypt in the White House and Nebuchadnezzer of Babylon was likely Saddam Hussein of Iraq who even called himself Nebuchadnezzer and tried to rebuild ancient Babylon. All the old enemies of Israel and Judea and Judah will come in the same generation and all will be defeated by the Messiah and His company of angels and the set apart ones from all the ages including King David who will rule and reign again in Jerusalem.

26. 25 David: The Lord showed me Galant is ancient like
Rivkah   (08.23.10)
the Messiah. It could be Galant is thousands of years old, not 52 if he was on the earth when Rabbi Yeshua taught and healed in ancient Judah. Rabbi Yeshua said there would be people alive when he returns as the Lion of Judah who were alive when he was here. Yoav Galant is the Lion of David who has walked through the gate of heaven at a summer or winter solstice many times to become young again and live another life as a protector of the Torah and Tanakh. Is he Joseph of Arimathea, the uncle and adopted father of Rabbi Yeshua? Maybe so. Then he is far, far older than 52 or 72. He is thousands of years old. How wonderful for the Lord to let me see someone who so reflects the Messiah that he even looks like the face on the Shroud of Turin, as does Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu. It is the light of the Messiah that shines through them so that the Lord Yahweh's purposes can be accomplished.
