Jewish chief Rabbi and call him an non-Jew deserves action to stop the government welfare checks. They need to go to work so they don't have so much time on their hands to attack people since they obviously are not studying full time. End the subsidies. The Bible says if you don't work, you don't eat. That is for the able-bodied and able-minded. Haredim should be required to serve in the National Service or IDF and to get a job that pays a paycheck when they get out. This is an outrage for them to treat a chief Rabbi with such disrespect. Even Rabbi Yeshua did not treat Caiaphas with disrespect even though Caiaphas, the chief Priest in his day, was wrongly sending Rabbi Yeshua to his death.

The neturei karta and the arabs share the same mentality. How can anyone demand the Israeli arabs to be loyal israeli citizens when these cult members are not. Calling Rav Metzger sheigetz such chutzpah, it is they who have left the jewish people not the other way around. They side with the enemies of there own people all the time. Why do they even reside in Israel? Shame on this cult of traitors!
4. #2 Rivkah, Neturei Karta don't recognize the state.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (08.25.10)
They're a very small fringe element within the Haredim who don't even have a state ID or passport, least of all any state benefits. They're as indicative of the Haredim as the anarchists are of seculars.
5. Rabbi Metzer should be happy the Arabs didn't lynch him
Shalom   (08.25.10)
like they almost did twice this week which the Left media doesn't find important enough to report - after all they’re not chareidim. As for Jews throwing stones, it is as true as yesterday's story in Ashkelon where there was no evidence and even the police denied any knowledge. But of course, Ynet readers relish to hear nonsense and made-up stories about chareidim.
6. Oh NO!!! Why would God lead him into hostile territories?
Talula ,   Israel   (08.25.10)
Probably for the same reason he led Moses into the dessert and who got stuck there for 40 years – the only difference is, the rabbi could have gone and bought a roadmap – everyone knows a GPS has limitations in and around certain areas.

it had happened to some imam or sheikh who accidentally entered an Israeli settlement. We'd be hearing demands for a United Nations investigation!

Observer ,   Jerusalem, Jerusalem   (08.25.10)
This article doesn't make sense and is clearly written by someone who doesn't know the first about geography. There is no way that anyone lands up in Shuafat refugee camp by mistake, without going through a checkpoint (although the camp is within Israel's self proclaimed limits of Jerusalem). If the confused rabbi landed up in any camp it might have been Kalandia, which you can get to through a checkpoint that where you are usually not stopped, but not without seeing the separation wall and noticing that you are driving into a Palestinian neighborhood. The passage "The rabbi's driver said they had passed the Qalandiya checkpoint and reached the southern part of Ramallah" indicates that this might have been the case. Leaving the question what business an Israeli rabbi has to do in a extremist (national religious) settlement deep into the West Bankway beyond the green line and the separation barrier aside, WTF would they go via Ramallah – wherever these morons came from it is completely out of the way. Perhaps the rabbi with his incompetent driver and gps should stay away from the occupied territories in the future.

Don't take any state benefits? Tell that to Kupat Holim and Tipat Halav. Not to mention hospitals. They don't pay taxes, they routinely assault Israelis whose dress does not comport with their outlandish ideas and they are obnoxious and contribute nothing -- not to the State, not to the Jewish people, not to the sciences or humanities and most DEFINITELY not to principles of Jewish thought. Frankly, my view is that if they are as opposed to the State of Israel as we know they are, they really should move elsewhere.

You missed the point, which is that Arabs attacked a Jew. Period. Full stop. Predictably enough, like all Palestinians, you blame the driver of the car, the rabbi, the GPS ... you blame everything and everybody except yourselves. That's why we are so sick to death of you.

Hmm, this must be a sign. If he is going to keep showing up in the wrong places then he should start jogging, you never know when you will have to run for your life, also take self defense lessons, you never know when you will have to fight for your life. Then he must learn to make the right decision; flight or fight, you never know when you will be backed up against a wall. Seriously though, I agree with Rivkah, for it is written: 2Thessalonians 3:8 nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but worked with labor and toil night and day, in order not to burden any of you, 2Thessalonians 3:9 not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example, for you to imitate us. 2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone does not wish to work, neither let him eat. 2Thessalonians 3:11 For we hear of some among you walking disorderly, not working at all, but are busybodies. 2Thessalonians 3:12 But we command and urge such, through our Master יהושע Messiah, to settle down, work and eat their own bread.
14. 4 Roman, Lod, Israel: Thank you for that explanation.
Rivkah   (08.25.10)
That was helpful. I observed Haredim helping at hospitals without being paid on Shabbat, taking communion to patients and I am glad my impression of their sacrifices was right for the majority and that this is a fringe group of fanaticals who attacked Rabbi Metzger.
15. 10 Sarah: I am so glad to hear that. Thank you.

16. why accept anarachy from heredi? Just to prove a point?
JEWBIE ,   NYC USA   (08.25.10)
Because the heredi are regular pay-off experts ...they know how to work the power system to achieve undeserved advantages over other Israelis. They need to be investigated and corralled and kept in perspective...they are NOT the promised chosen ones, just the smart demanding leeches on Israeli society.
17. Neturei Karta

Are going to be Palestinian and are welcome to live in the territorys. We all respect the Neturei Karta ! The NK will probably work for the PA's brand new state

Stuck in the "dessert" for 40 years ? Was that apple pie with ice cream or pancakes with maple syrup and who got a double portion for 40 days and nights when Moses was up the mountain ?
