1. Lets hope there is none
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.25.10)
While Iran continues to lie about their intent of the nuke program, we can only hope no uranium exists in Iran. The monkey leader, who just loves to here himself talk, is accomplished liar. But, he sure does love playing the tough guy. Like Saddam, when cornered, he will run and hide in a rat-hole, just like the the last big mouth, Saddam. Who died the coward that he was.
2. Too bad I don't owe a Uranium mine...
Jens ,   Germany   (08.25.10)
It could have been committed to a great cause.
3. Mark from GA. In fact Americans were the first to...
Persian CAT   (08.25.10)
discover Uranium in Iran during the fifties. Apparenlty the Iranian Uranium the discovered depostis were not extensive at that time. But since then new exploration and discovieris have taken place. With the potential increase of the number of nuclear power plants in the ME and around the world the LEU market is and will continue to be hot, and Iran wants to cash in that market as well as oil and gas markets where Iran is a major player. Sorry to disappoint you, I fee your pain. I really homie ;)
4. AN OBVIOUS COURSE OF ACTION
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (08.25.10)
That Iran will and has to take.Relying on other countries has had bitter experience for Iran and the announcement is in line with what Iran needs to do.Intelligence reports and so forth may be published so long as it satisfies your own population. All set to go!!!
5. #1 Thats strange Mark..
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (08.25.10)
Last I remember iranians at least had the courage in them to fight an all out war with iraq(in which they did not start),and although they had lost their army back during the revolution, they stood with everything they had. No cowardice in that one...
6. #3 Your talking to a Yank. What else did you expect??
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (08.25.10)
They all remind me of Homer Simpson. Dumb, lazy and fat. He has more knowledge of the pizza he eats, than lets say the Mideast.
7. True independence
Atomino ,   Germany   (08.25.10)
Iran tries to get independent. 1.Energy production based on oil is pure waste and not very carbon emission friendly. And you could sell the oil to the greedy West to supply SUVs with fuel. 2. If surrounded by US bases the only way to avoid an invasion is to possess nukes, very simple lessons learned from Iraq and Nord Korea. Rigth now the Iranian leaders to things we do not like, but the West has to be blamed for that situation too. Remember all the things the US, UK and Iraq did to destroy and control Iran in the last 50 years. THIS IS A CLASSICAL BLOWBACK LIKE AFGHANISTAN OR PAKISTAN FOR THE USA!
8. #5-Peter, You failed to mention that
Allan ,   US   (08.25.10)
the brave Iranian mullahs sent 8 year olds with plastic keys in their hands, symbolizing the keys go heaven, to clear mine fields and get themselves blown up in the process.
9. #8 Don't tell me the whole war was fought by those kids
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (08.25.10)
You also had the same situation in the USSR(during ww2),in Vietnam and etc. That's no reason to mock someone. It's war and it has an ugly face. Besides, from what I know, those children where not FORCED to do anything.
10. So Iran's uranium is up to no good, LOL
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (08.25.10)
They have been bluffing all along.
11. #5; Peter, not unless you think...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.26.10)
That using children as human mind sweepers, is cowardice! Although Iran did the kids keys necklaces to heaven, and the promise of 72 virgins. Second, they couldn't even win that war, barely fought to a draw, and recently attacked the U.S. as having trouble with Iraq "small army", saying the U.S. was weak.
12. #3; Persian CAT, sorry to hear that.
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.26.10)
I didn't know there was Uranium in Iran. Tell me do you think a nuke armed Iran makes the world a safer place? If so, why?
13. GOOD LUCK!
Avi ,   NYC, NY   (08.26.10)
The expansion of the Iranian nuclear program, the operation of the Busher reactor, and the failure of Israel to deter Iran are great news. When Israel realizes that it is no more the only lionin the local jungle, it will opt for real peace.
14. #5 Iran's 500 billion dollar war
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.26.10)
The eight year war with 100,000 Iranian fatalities plus thousands permanently disabled and injured. Nothing brave or productive about this war.

Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (08.26.10)
But didn't you find it brave of The USA to train and arm Saddam while at the same time having Israel funnel American arms to Iran with the end result being a long drawn out and bloody conflict? Or would you call that something else..like, I don't know. Evil?
16. spent domestic uranium doesnt go back to Russia
zionist forever   (08.26.10)
Whilst Iran continues enriching uranium in centrefuges a deal was worked out that this power plant would be fueled by uranium provided by Russia and the spend fuel rods would be returned so Iran doesn't get any plutonium out of it. If the uranium is domestically supplies then it won't be sent back to Russia and Iran can keep any plutonium from its reactor it could provide extra fuel for its centrefuges.

Cynthia ,   USA   (08.26.10)
Many countries were involved including Germany, France, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the UK. But after being the recipients of poison and chemical attacks, you would think the Islamic Regime would not be so eager for war.
18. Iran has alot of low grade uranium but very hard to process
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.26.10)
Most of Iran uranium ore just to costly to process, far cheaper to buy it but with newer equipment which is currently banned the cost and time to process it could be lowered. Iran should make a deal with West now that is reactor is online, making more than a few nukes with uranium will be costly in many ways.
19. #6 Peter
Hal ,   Usa   (08.26.10)
At least Homer Simpson has his own show, while you are just blogging ass-bite. BTW what is Peter short for? :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))!
20. Cynthia, fair enough...
Persian CAT   (08.26.10)
but none of the countries you mentioned as well as the then USSR helped Saddam as much as the US did. France was a close second. But that's all past. I wonder why you're so convinced that Iran is "eager for war"! Iran has repeatedly said it does not wish nor try to start any wars. Do you have any insight in the inner workings of the Iranians that we don't?
21. #20 Iran at war with the West
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.27.10)
The Islamic Regime believes they are already at war with the West. They lead chants of "Death to Israel" and "Death to America" and have armed and funded Hezbollah and Hamas to wage proxy wars against Israel on their behalf. Ahmadinejad's goal is to create chaos and carnage so the Mahdi will crawl out of the well at Jamkaran Mosque. He doesn't represent Iranians but he does represent the current fanatic regime of Iran.
