1. Looking at these photos
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (08.26.10)
..reminds one of those African boys we see in photographs of roaming rebel armies. Children really, but armed and dangerous thugs nonetheless. Handcuffed, blindfolded and photographed! The soldiers of Zion march on with such dignity.
2. I PREFER TO CALL THIS AS ISRAEL'S FALLING PROCESS
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (08.26.10)
2010 - 1948 = ?
3. No.1 Sean
NYC Girl   (08.26.10)
No, it reminds YOU of those African boys. What a load of hyperbolic nonsense. Those African kids in the rebel armies are zombies who've been programmed to commit atrocities like chopping peoples' hands off. I suspect that any one of their victims would gladly switch places with those Palestinian prisoners...who, by the way, aren't exactly a bunch of altar boys.
4. Righteousness in Judgement - not PR
Josh   (08.26.10)
Unless a law was broken, no charges should be made. However conduct unbecoming an officer might be grounds for repremand. The photos bother people because the body language. She reviles Arabs and the world is a sucker for the underdog even if he is a terrosist or law breaker.. Beyond that, Israel needs to stop playing around with justice based on the sounds of the trumpets of media and cult. We need to use Torah type righetouseness as it was before it was corrupted. Leave the not-nice woman alone and institute military clearanc of personal photos while in uniform.
5. not possible to have fair trial because of international
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (08.26.10)
opinion which will prejudice and predetermine the "guilt" of the soldiers
6. Why invent flimsy grounds for indictment?
Naftush ,   Israel   (08.26.10)
The very act of pointing a weapon at someone without valid cause is itself grounds for indictment. Why should the prosecution bring foreign public opinion into the equation?
7. Israeli media ought to be more concerned about Anat Kam
Shalom   (08.26.10)
who endangered the security of the state and was not taken into custody than some silly soldier with her photo next to some terrorists. These terrorists should be happy they weren't killed.

and genocide of Armenians to using chemical weapons on Kurds is your rising process?
9. CHARACTER ( MORAL ) IN HUMAN IS A GENETIC FACTOR.

11. It is indeed a horrible shame FOR ANY ONE to be in the "IDF"
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.26.10)
12. Dangerous precedent - breech of normative law
Nick ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (08.26.10)
Can anybody show me a legal justification for this? In "world public opinion" we don't have a right to exist here. Will this be sufficient grounds for further action against those of us who've studied history and international law and are convinced that we do have a legal right to this land,?
13. Just Scapegoats
Yonason Herschlag   (08.26.10)
Why is it that media outlets can publish scathing reports defaming Israel and its People, and they are never brought to justice?
14. JAG Stinks!!!
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (08.26.10)
As I said many times before, JAG stinks! Mandelblit should be expelled from his Beit HaKnesset for being anti Israel! This photos are simple jokes that show the level of this military lawyers who don't see live ammunition even from a kilometer and are looking under the stones to have their moment of fame. Shame on Mandelblit, shame on JAG, we don't need them in Tzahal!!!
15. A response to Sean - #1
Kate ,   London, UK   (08.26.10)
And where exactly was the dignity as we were herded by our millions into gas chambers as nations like Canada sudiously averted their gaze? I lived in Canada for over a decade. I can assure you that the native peoples of that nation are held in complete contempt by virtually all "white men" and are treated in a manner that causes nothing but shame for the country of Canada.
16. Kate in London
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (08.26.10)
It would be insincere to suggest that there doesn't exist a large unspoken racist attitude towards First Nations to this day in Canada. The indifference towards the Jewish refugees during the war is a shame felt to this day in this country. Would you suggest we continue to remain silent towards injustice? Is the state of Israel to be given carte blanche to wreak vengeance for two thousand years of injustice? This concept that there are others who do wrong therefore there is no right to complain is somewhat foreign to me. I neither refused Jewish refugees nor bear racial hatred to the indigenous population of North America. Do you as an individual condone the blindfolding and indignities committed by these soldiers?
17. Quite frankly...
#14 Macher ,   Haifa   (08.26.10)
....i don't need people like you in Israel...although, on second thoughts, you are not really in Israel
18. Sean, where was you post when Gilad Shalit's pictures where
Mike ,   Toronto   (08.26.10)
made public, or behading of Americans including Daniel Pearl, or did you not see the linch mob who dimemberd 2 Israelis who accidently ventured into arab teritory, they where filmed with blod still driping of there hands. The bottom line Sean, if your posts where equaly posted when arabs do the so called in humane thing then it would be wrong to call you a racisit that you are.
19. No Travel For Israeli Military Personnel
World Citizen ,   the world   (08.26.10)
Because if you come out into the civilized world you may be arrested. Stay in your Jewish paradise.
20. Humiliation is illegal according to Western laws
Seppo ,   Finland   (08.26.10)
Israel claims to be a western democracy. Looks like it is high time for Knesset to stop concentrating in competing whose's gonna give most concessions and land to Arabs for free and start making laws. At first you are not allowed to give out even names of detainee publically. You are not allowed to publish anybody's photo without permission. Detaining somebody does not allow this. You can publish photos of condemned criminals, or under search warrant, or disappeared children, or public persons. Every detainee whose picture is spread publically can make a law suit and get a compensation. Especially from internet you cannot get your picture out. It is internal problem for Israel if your soldiers reveal attack plans in internet. Get som ISRAELI lawyer to examine what should be done so that the whole western world will no attack you of humiliation.
21. World Opinion? Come on.
USA   (08.26.10)
Who the hell cares about "world opinion" In the history of of humanity when did the world opinion ever been positive about Jews? Jews should be the last people to ever give a damn about something that's called world opnion or "international law"
22. These soldiers did against Halacha...
John ,   Europe   (08.26.10)
1) The mitzva about suppressing raping urge - the one with female captive and shaving woman's head - can be interpreted broadly, as suppressing urges in war, therefore forbidding mocking of detainees 2) The mitzva of offering peace before attack (give prevalence to peace) can also be interpreted more broadly, as making your best effort to make peace. Therefore, mockery is against it, for perpetuating war. 3) There are various examples in Tanach about treating captives good. Hence, these Nahal soldiers did not act according to Halacha.
23. World Opinon
Golani ,   Vineland, USA   (08.26.10)
The world is morally bankrupt. The Israeli army as a military is very moral. I have served in the IDF and I have worked with other militaries worldwide and I have seen the difference. The issue is that Israel is such a free, democratic society. Things get published that are public domain. We protect a free open society and in that kind of society, the free press works with the concept of the public right to know everything. Much of the world does not work that way, and most of the horrible things that occur in those nations do not make the press, or are not put up in social networking sites. Although the Israeli soldiers are highly motivated to fight for and defend our country against corrupt forms of terrorism and hatred against Jews and the Jewish state, Israelis are very open. We are a citizen’s army. In the most motivated elite units, you have left wing, right wing, religious and non religious serving together. Much worse things happen in most other countries and militaries. The difference is that the free Israeli press publishes everything. We are an open book. We don’t classify everything. Although much of this is our strength, sometimes your strength becomes your weakness (Sun Tzu, The Art of War). The few bad apples in the IDF need to pull in their reigns not do things that compromise the reputation of the IDF, one of the best fighting forces in the world that performs what the initials stand for. Israel DEFENSE Force. Israel needs to protect Data Aggregation.
24. I think the issue is. . .
nr ,   los angeles, usa   (08.26.10)
determining law based on world opinion. That sounds scary to me. And arbitrary, which goes against the whole concept of legality. If it is not illegal to pose with prisoners, then pass a law making it illegal and be done with it. And to the rest of you crying about humiliating terrorists, put a sock it in.
25. u want to Indicte operatives Look at Hamas blatant attack on
Martin ,   Jhb SA   (08.26.10)
civilians with rockets and mortars. Then those whom of Gaza & Hamas whom placed so-called civilians as human shields and all the other inhumanity and killing under guise of muslim array of laws that permits summary killing for any small infringement including alleged immodesty of women When you have taken your microscope of those findings (if done thoroughly should keep busy for five or ten years) the in the light of that look at the IDF and our morality. This is amazing. I am not saying we condone but lets look at matters with a level playing field of applying justice.
