The occupation in Israel is an Arab one, over the Israelis. There isn't a single (public) spot in this country where an Arab can't enter within the state of Israel - Synagogues, Courts of Law, Government institutes, beaches, shopping mallls, schools, universities - all is open before them, and they can harass our women and beat the men to death (Eric Karp was beaten to death at the Tel Aviv beach a few moths ago, for defending his daughter). But if a Jew stumbles into an Arab institute or village - they're getting stoned (see Rabbi Yona Metzger last week), robbed (like the poor bloke who ventured into Ramallah to fix his car a few years ago and was rescued in the nick of events by two PA policemen - who were later punished for helping him) or worse (two reservists in Ramallah a few years back got lynched by the mob). An Arab neighbour in Jaffa can burn and demolish the synagogue bit by bit, and all Israeli police does is sit still - in fear of Arab riots. Same in many Galilean cities - Carmiel, Akko (where a Jewish girl was run over to death by an Arab who didn't like being told to shut the loud music on Yom Kippur) - fear of Arab rioting is on all the authorities. Even our policemen are afraid to deal with Arab thieves - the thieves either kill or maim them, or else if the policeman hurts the thief - the policeman goes to jail. Not to mention how they build - in East Jerusalem, Jaffa, Akka, but also inside their own villages - no plans, outlaw, threatening and hurting inspectors - small wonder sewage runs in the streets there, no law abides there! It is well known the majority of Silwan residents are from the Hebron area and only since the mid tolate 80's The original residents were given land in north Jerusalem & the old houses were to be torn down to expose the Biblical cave graves Teddy Kollek who wanted Jerusalem divided did not follow up people from Hebron moved in.
