Why would Israel commit to demographic suicide, which is what the one state solution is. Throwing around words like "Apartheid" is typical of the anti-Israel crowd. Even J. Carter the former President, when asked, stated that word did NOT apply to Israel but the "occupied land", not the state of Israel. First, Iraq never should have been a State anyway. It was a combination of different areas and tribes forcibly placed together under the ruling of British-supported Hussein. Second, 97% of ALL deaths were at the hands of Muslims over sectarian violence (due to the tensions brought up from the first point). Third, if "functional" Iraq meant returning to the age of Saddam where Kurds are gassed and Shiites are rounded up, shot, and thrown into mass graves, then nothing is different today except the names of Muslim killers have changed.
