1. More BS From Ahmadinejad's Pet Poodles
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (08.29.10)
Hamas is not a Palestinian group. It is an Iranian Islamic terror cell first and foremost and Palestinian second. As long as Israel exists and as long as there is a Jewish presence in Israel, there will be conflict. It doesn't matter what Israel does or what concessions it makes, none of it matters. As a result Hamas will continue to rot in that backward cesspool called Gaza.
2. right of return
dan Guralnek ,   brisbane australia   (08.29.10)
Well israel better not cede the right of return to the palestinians otherwise Hamas will step on their heads.
3. Take Out Hamas Infrastructure and Fast
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (08.29.10)
Hamas at least has stated its repeated goal. I give them credit for being honest, if not a bunch of murdering thugs. That said: an Israeli -PA agreement will pluck their feathers somewhat, and those of Hez and Iran, and they know it. But, the PA, Israel, Egypt,Jordan must follow-up with insuring Hamas doesn't spoil everything. Next time, Israel must bomb Hamas infrastructure w/o restraint and until it is destroyed (forget any Goldstone interference). Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other militant groups must feel the sting of Israeli F15s and F16s, Jerichos, Merkava and Abrams Tanks, etc.. They must be destroyed and quickly to free 1.2m Gaza Arabs. That is the only way of insuring a true peace. Iran, you are next.
4. Sabotaging peace talks before they start
Joe ,   Montreal   (08.29.10)
Hamas & other political & religious extremists in the Moslem camp are using verbal violence to scare the PLO from starting talks with Israel. It is in the interest of their ambitions to prevent peace & we can expect that if verbal threats do not succeed quickly, they will soon resort to terrorist acts in Israel. Even if the PLO negociators overcome their fear, the upmanship of the extremists is likely to make the PLO less prone to make any significant concession which could mean a death sentence. This is the customary game seen several times in the past. It plays out with the crucial support of the Iranians & their surrogares in Syria.
5. Hamas has - what - 12% support among Gazans and WBers?
Zvi   (08.29.10)
6. What right of return?
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (08.29.10)
Palestinians have been held prisoners in refugee camps for 63 years. Those that left thinking that Arabs would destroy Israel are all DEAD. There is no Arab alive that has any right of return. Jerusalem is the UNDIVIDED Capitol of Israel and the West Bank are sovereign Israeli land. The Palestinians have a lovely seaside resort of Gaza Now Mr. Obama what is it that you think needs negotiating?
7. TWO POSSIBILITIES, MAYBE MORE
(08.29.10)
The Two possibilities worth discussing. 1) Brilliant move by Hamas to cover the bases. What is referred to as playing both ends against the middle (Israel). Abbas goes to "direct talks" and gets whatever concessions he can from Israel...that the Palestinians will intend on holding Israel to...while getting the concessions on the public record. If talks fail or stall and you have concrete concessions from Israel on the record. But, at the same time, the Palestinians are NOT obligated to honor any agreements made by Abbas and the PA. Hamas has stated this up front, and again in this recent statement. So they get concessions from Israel, with no obligations in return, a clever negotiating strategy. Plus they get to continue the terrorism, because they have not said, or made any promise not to. 2) Hamas really isn't on board, then really, what is the point of "direct talks"? Unless the world steps in, with any final agreement, and commits NATO or some type of International force that both parties can agree to. Now this last statement by Hamas has gone further publicly that I have heard in a long time. Here is why, we all have the Palestinian whining about: a) settlements/building; b) the so-called "right of return"; c) Jerusalem But did you pick-up on the first quote in the first paragraph? This is the quote I am referring to: "the Izz-a-Din al-Qassam Brigades will step on the heads of those who dare cede the right of return, Jerusalem, and Palestine". First it was a death threat from Hamas to the leaders of the PA...or any leader who cooperates with Israel. Second, "cede the right of return, Jerusalem, and Palestine", by "Palestine" that is code, understood by all Palestinians and the Muslim world to mean, ALL of present day Israel. Put simply
8. TWO POSSIBILITIES Part 2
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.29.10)
My first post was accidentally sent before I finished. So the quote I was speaking of was: "the Izz-a-Din al-Qassam Brigades will step on the heads of those who dare cede the right of return, Jerusalem, and Palestine". First it is a death threat to the PA leaders or any leader who rebels against their wishes. They have always whined about: 1) Jerusalem; 2) the so-called "right of return"; 3) building/settlements BUT THE INCLUSION OF "AND PALESTINE" in the quote of the first paragraph is stunning! To actually use the Arab street code for destroying Israel is unbelievable, intolerable and should be condemned worldwide. Although we all know that it WILL NOT BE, TO THE UTTER SHAME OF THE WORLD. The word "Palestine = ALL of modern day Israel. This is Hamas speaking to its base and Muslim enemies. The Arab street understands that to mean destroy all of Israel, and make it a Muslim country with no Jewish people allowed. Basically were back to the 3 noes of Khartoum, No Peace, No, Negotiation, No Recognition, of Israel. Period. Hamas has not been this blunt for Western press in quite a bit of time. They have always addressed their own people with this message, but in western press interviews always cleaned it up. This time they didn't. This is the most important statement made about the "direct talks", since it has been set.
9. Its obvious
Jewish Warrior ,   US/Israel   (08.29.10)
That Arabs don't want to live in peace with Jews. The PA wants to flood the country with Arab refugees and take Israel's capital, and make Israel withdraw to the indefensible frontiers of 1967, while Arab citizens of Israel actively sabotage the country from within and have a birthrate higher than India. Its time to end this once and for all: No talks! Expel them all now. As Meir Kahane said: Its better to have a Jewish state that is hated by the whole world than an Auschwitz that's loved by it.
10. The "pals" love death so much there will never be peace.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.29.10)
11. #1 Bill you're right except...
Simcha ,   SO.cal.USA   (08.29.10)
not all of Gaza is a cesspool. There are many upscale resorts ,shoppingmalls, funfilled beaches. Of course it is all built on the backs of the Pal. people by the graft and corruption of their elected leaders. I wonder if the people are so mired in the hate expressed by Hamas that this situation is ok as long as Israel is decimated?
12. Once again Hamas proves that it's a bunch of psychopaths.
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.29.10)
And the leftards in Washington are seriously thinking of 'working' with these dirtbags. If only Bibi could plainly state: "There is no 'Right-of-Return' for Arabs to Israel." Never was, never will be. Just as Abbas has stated 'No Jews will be allowed to live in Palestine,' there should not be any surprise when Israel says 'No right-of-return of Arabs to Israel.' About time someone told Hamas to get lost.
13. contradictions
logic ,   usa   (08.29.10)
these morons in one turn say "we will stomp on your heads...prepare for the final battle...your existence is on its way to disappearing..." then in the same breath ask the international community to pressure israel to "stop their cruelty and insolence towards the palestinian people." SERIOUSLY? this idiots need to take a class on critical thinking. one thing this does show, however, is that any government or organization that sides with these fools, since the logic is clearly contradictory and the pals are hypocrites, are just plain 'ol jew haters. they show their true colors when they support the pal's and boycotting israeli goods.
14. Sure kill the talks
homer jones ,   nYC   (08.29.10)
and kiss the paley state goodbye forever!
15. False Peace
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.29.10)
I have Prima facie evidence that the US agenda is not peace for Israel but it's methodical extermination under the lie of peace. If the US were truly concerned about impediments to peace it's complete focus would be on removing Hamas from Gaza the real hinderance to peace ,not homes with Jews in them. As we see, the US focus is always on Jewish homebuilder never on Hamas except to strengthen them.
16. HAMAS - JERUSALEM IS OURS ... PERIOD
stude ham   (08.29.10)
17. two states = Jordan & Israel
Jordan is Palestine   (08.29.10)
18. That's not enough ,Hamas !
Salma ,   Plestine   (08.29.10)
Warning of the negotiations and refuse it is not enough, you must provide a viable alternative, certainly not like the Hamas model in Gaza, for many Palestinians, the negotiations could fail a thousand times but the Hamas model in Gaza must be a one-time !
19. Palestinian "unity" on display
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.29.10)
How can any sane government in the world expect Israel to "negotiate" with that fractious rabble? The Palestinians need to clean up their own house before any such "negotiations" can even be contemplated. That should take a millennium or two. Or three. And that's an extremely optimistic assessment.
20. Remember their deal with Carter?
Nativ Alter ,   Tel Aviv   (08.29.10)
Do you remember Hamas promising Pres. Jimmy Carter that they will honor a peace agreement signed between the PA and Israel? Following that promise, Carter and other leftist figures started to operate against the Israeli blockade on Gaza. We now see what this promise was worth.
21. #6: Very GOOD point indeed BUT
Israeli 2   (08.29.10)
forget "Right of return". That would be an infrapalestinian government assesment and decision and they WILL have the right to do so once they are established. The problem is the ESTABLISHMENT of another hateful foreign entity carved out of Israeli sovereign land. As an independent country, they will now have a policy that gets in as many "immigrants" as they wish for whatever reason. They will just say: "All tourists are welcome to stay in Palestine forever." YEAH, Tourists! Nothing we can do about it. The best solution is No discssions because there will be no Palestine and that would be honest too.
22. 2 state solution ? Peace?? Hudna???
Galut ,   Selah   (08.29.10)
Quote: "Abbas and his negotiating team do not represent Palestine, Jerusalem, the refugees, or al-Aqsa, and we will not recognize any agreement signed by the Zionist enemy," al-Hayya said. "Hamas continues to grow stronger and prepare for the final battle until your banishment from Palestine. Your existence is on its way to disappearing," he said in a monologue aimed at ISREAL =========== When will those folks that are trying to achieve a 2 state solution learn that the ultimate goal of Hamas ,Hezbulah and even Fatah is the complete removal of Isreal....
23. The muslim occupant in the WH found out he can't push us
around, now he will ,   try to force Israel.   (08.29.10)
24. #1: and Santa Claus is real
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.29.10)
Hamas is the only authentic Arab political organization in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, certainly more than the corrupt Fatah. That is why Hamas won democratic elections despite American intervention and why Abbas refuses to hold new elections. That said, neither Fatah nor Hamas will ever cede what they call "the right of return", the flooding of any Jewish area with foreign Arabs.
25. #5 Maybe Zvi......
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (08.29.10)
...But that 12% is controlling the remaining 88% ....Just like the IRA controlled the Irish until the people cried ''ENOUGH" and started to turn in the thugs
26. #25 Mark
simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (08.29.10)
Yes. That 12% are the clever ones who have hyjacked the monies ment to be used for their people, who, instead built fancy resorts and shopping malls. They have raped their own people leaving them without the electricity needed but instead use it for their own comfort in malls ,etc. The 88% will never recognise where their misery is really coming from. They will allways blame Israel. This 88% are the ones who looted the millions of dollars worth of green houses left for them by Israel to supply much needed foodstuffs. They do not have the mental capacity to discern more than what they are spoon fed by their keepers. Better if in war the next time Israel is not so "humane" Gaza is nothing but a breeding ground of frustration ,animosity, and hopelessness all turned toward Israel.Too dangerous to leave not completely over powered by Israel.
27. Impeach Them
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (08.30.10)
Obama, Hillary, and Biden, know what stance Hamas/Hez, are taking, and their Iranian masters. For over 2years, Israel/USA, have been trying to marginalize Hamas, to little success. Take away the IDF, and the W. Bk becomes another Hamastan. Abbas/Fayyad irrelevant. To woik, Hamas (and Hez) will have to be neutralized by Israel, the US, Egypt/Jordan, with Syria on the sidelines. Egypt can stop the smuggling...the blockade of Gaza can be continues ( flotillas warned to stay away). Any Iranian money or supplies must be intercepted. Sooner or later, as I have suggested previously, Israel will have to call up 500,000 reservists..send Abrams into Gaza softened by artillery, bunker busters and daisy cutters. Civilians should be given 2 hrs warning time to vacate.Goldstone must be arrested, prosecuted, and tried for treason. Major Bloomberg must be impeached for siding with US enemies. In Nov, kick the liberal rascals out of office..get Glenn Becks and Sarah Palins people in. Its in our interests.
