31. Salma no.24
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (08.29.10)
It,s only poor illeducated ,misinformed Palestinian Salma ,somewhere in Palestine ,whereever that might be regurgitating her bleats from a nice green pasture which obviously cannot be true as nice green pastures and fat well fed Muslim sheep don,t exist anywhere in so called Palestine as it is mainly a desert (Arabian)that has long since been shorn of it,s pastoral magnificence millinnea ago thanks to millions of these bleating Muslim sheep overgrazing and messing up the once lush green countryside of the Arabian desert of Palestine?
32. #19: Ariel is in Israel?
Israeli 2   (08.29.10)
Why don't you continue asking: Tel Aviv is in Israel? Haifa is in Israel? Eilat is in Israel? Kiryat Arba and Hebron are in Israel? Jerusalem is in Israel? We are not interested in GazaCity or in Moscow. But all the above and way beyond yonder is ISRAEL. By the way is nameless part of shameless?
33. You guys got it all wrong
Israeli 2   (08.29.10)
It is the people of Ariel and all rightwing, rightfull Jews who should reject these leftist performers. These performers are pathetic leftwingers....they are probably ashamed to appear before their superiors. It is simply refered to as Inferiority Complex.
34. Avi @ 2, please have different opinion by all means.
leo ,   usa   (08.29.10)
Nobody is jailing you for that. But why should government fund your different opinion? Life, my friend, is not without consequences, different opinion or not.
35. :: Ariel is not a community in ‘Israel’
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.29.10)
“Ariel is a community in Israel” this is a blatant lie. The UN, EU, US, ICJ and Israel all recognize the Palestinian WB as land *occupied* by Israeli military forces. For example recently at the 4th Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference (April 2010) Israel *itself* insisted on the term "territories under occupation" be applied to any and all documentation generated by this conference. As per international law and as ruled upon (several times) by the Israeli Supreme Court Israel’s sovereignty does not extend to these "territories under occupation". For example in: Israeli Supreme Court Judgement Regarding the Security Fence (June 24, 2004) it states: “Since 1967, Israel has been holding the areas of Judea and Samaria in belligerent occupation”. This means that under international law (which the court recognizes) only Israeli military law can be applied to these areas under military occupation. The ruling then goes on to state: “the (Israeli) military commander is *not* the sovereign in the occupied territory”. This means that Israel has NO sovereignty over these occupied territories (the WB and Gaza). Thus Israel’s sovereignty does not extend to the illegal settlements in the Palestinian WB. Ariel is NOT a community in Israel; Ariel is an illegal community/settlement in the internationally recognized occupied territories. These actors and playwrights have every right to refuse to ‘legitimize’ these illegal settlements.
36. to #30 it's not the gov, it's the logic
ghostq   (08.29.10)
they spit on the hands that feeds them much like the univesities, than the hand will stop feeding them, simple, no blak mail, if they don't want to show they should do it on their own expense and not on general society expence.
37. to #34 well said, left wingers should know
ghostq   (08.29.10)
the call for tax abuse works both ways, not just for ultra orthodox jews, but also for extreme left wingers the use it as political agenda.
38. Avi
tinashkuli   (08.29.10)
I think you should go to Tehran to investigate, and come back and give us full details on the similarities between Israel and Tehran. What say you?
39. P.M., Mr. Netanyahu please rethink what u r saying!
(08.29.10)
It is unreasonable to "punish" public theatre companies because of what some of its employees say or do. This basically amounts to collective punishment of the wrong group of people. and in addition leaves your little fascist out for a full viewing!
40. HOW CAN THESE ACTORS EVEN STAND TO LIVE IN ISRAEL?
Url ,   Tel Aviv   (08.29.10)
They must hate themselves for being here.
41. Names, names, give me the friggin' names.Where's The List?

42. GOOD MOVE BIBI! THE BOYCOTTERS ARE IDIOTS - NOT ARTISTS
stude ham   (08.29.10)
we do not need their destructive forms of expression... which is not art... but rather pure anti-israel hate propaganda.
43. #36 Monopoly over logic
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.29.10)
Only when your favourite fascist party comes into power, will you be able to determine the logic for all the rest of us
44. #13 Corey
Pedro ,   Brazil   (08.29.10)
Your comparison with indigenous of Canada is wrong. Canada legitimation is not under threat, as well as indigenous politics position do not have any international relevance.
45. # 35 Well Said Matty
Gregory ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.29.10)
Now I look forward to some sound arguments to disprove the statements made by Matty. Not some mumbo-jumbo about the land belonging to the Jews since 3500 years ago. There will be chaos in this world if people start making claims to lands simply on the basis that their ancestors lived there many years ago.
46. #35: Keep dreaming and sucking on
Israeli 2   (08.29.10)
your thumb. All these places will remain Israeli forever. Soon, the palis will just leave like they never were. There will be quiet in the region and you will be able to ee Israel flourish like never before.
47. 5. Why should gov't. fund theatres?
split ,   USA   (08.29.10)
Because they want to control it ,... Almost all of them (gov't) are former armed forces brass and won't tolerate dissent ,...
48. #27 Bravo. Wag the Dog tactics ...again

They do it every time and we stupidly get all excited
49. #41 Go to hebrew talkbacks
am ivri   (08.29.10)
or get someone to help you with this. They're ALL there, the wimps names. This Dror Keren fella has since changed his mind, can you believe it? Yes indeed, you can...They are all such ditherers bless their cotton socks.
50. #35 Jewish Community in West Bank
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.29.10)
UN Resolution 242 deems the land disputed. Israel has jurisdiction over this land and they police it. The Palestinians are obviously in no hurry to resolve the dispute. These actors and performers have a right to boycott but the government who pays their salary and fans who don't appreciate their position have the right to withdraw support as well. The show will go on and perhaps more local actors and performers will get the jobs.
51. :: Cynthia - #50
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.29.10)
I have UN Resolution 242 open in front of me and nowhere within the text does it mention or allude to the territories as “disputed”, you are obviously very, very mistaken. To quote: “Emphasizing the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war” ie: Israel has no sovereignty over these territories. Calls for the “withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict”. Ie: Israel has no claim over these territories. I would also cite Res. 446 (Mar. 22, 1979) – Affirms “once more that the Fourth Geneva Convention … is applicable to the Arab territories occupied by Israel since 1967, including Jerusalem”, “Determines that the policy and practices of Israel in establishing settlements in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967 have no legal validity and constitute a serious obstruction to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East”. Nobody of note (UN, EU, US, Israeli Supreme Court, etc) calls these lands “disputed” they all consider the lands “occupied”, only Ynuts like yourself who agree with the illegal settlements ever call these occupied lands “disputed” and in reality your opinions don’t count.
52. #51 Matty
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.30.10)
UN Resolution 242 was written to map out steps to end the territorial dispute. Israel obviously has claim to the the land. If you have UN Resolution 242 open, post the quote that refers to occupied territories as well as where it states Israel has no claim over these territories. The Israelis have every right to settle and develop this land. And there is no agreement in sight. The Palestinians find every excuse in the book to avoid working with Israel to solve the conflict/dispute. In desperation you resort to name calling. The fact that you don't agree with me doesn't mean my opinion doesn't count.
