G-d help that poor women. What a disgusting government in Iran. The men are so insecure that they make their women wake around in black sheets.

The Haredim aren't that much different to the people you're criticizing, remember.
3. Iranian paper calls Carla Bruni a 'prostitute'
Yonatan ,   Jerusalem   (08.30.10)
Perfectly acceptably by the white house state department and the 1.5 billion muslims around the world
4. Caral Bruni
Moshe Boughanim ,   Geneva Switzerland   (08.30.10)
Iran is the country the most affected by prostitution !

bill ,   usa   (08.30.10)
a fair comparison? really? Do you know what jewish religion requires before sentencing one to death? I suggest that you look into the issue before making such biased and baseless statements. WHile, Haredim can be primitive in their views this is not even close by any stretch of the imagination. Nor do i need to remind you that this is a state sponsored sentence.
6. What remarkable stupidity!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.30.10)
The state newspaper and the state media service call the wife of a sitting head of state a "prostitute" and "immoral?" I realize that Iran is really unhappy about the sanctions which France has imposed on Iran, but this is going a bit over the top. Whatever funds the Islamic Republic of Iran has on deposit in France (and I suspect they are considerable) are about to get frozen. Poor timing on Iran's part, I must say -- they could have laid off the insults until their funds had been retrieved, but no. Well, no one can actually accuse the Iranian government of having an excess of intellect. They keep proving it, time and time again. It was rude and disrespectful, too. There's a surprise!
7. Where are so many leftist-feminists silent?
Url ,   Tel Aviv   (08.30.10)
8. I am not Iranian regime fan but this lady was an instrument
Moise   (08.30.10)
in her husband's murder, she would have received the same sentence in USA! How many women are waiting in the death row in the USA as we speak? Mrs. Bruni-Sarkozy should consider helping American death row ladies too!!!
9. The mad mullahs are at it again
Caros Murphy ,   Red Hill Australia   (08.30.10)
These mullahs have completely ruined Iran, and will destroy Iran if not checked in time. They are playing with fire.People who live in grass huts should not play with fire.
10. What kind of Promitive people?????
Jonathan ,   Montreal   (08.30.10)
What kind of primitive people you report about? Is this National Geographic? This people have a right to insult us , and we dont have the right to think that Mohammed was a pedophile !!!!!!
11. Stoning
frank ,   israel   (08.30.10)
I don't understand, what is the problem? She was aware of these laws and committed the crime. She should be punished according to their laws as per her wishes and the wishes of their people. Why is it everyone's business to get involved in a purly internal matter. Sheria law calls for this type of punishment. Crime, punishment, end of story....possibly we should start enforcing some of our own laws.....
12. :: Moise - #8, not a fan but approve of stoning?
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (08.30.10)
It is doubtful that she had anything to do with her husband's murder, Iranians are not known for conducting honest investigations, it is only what she is accused of. Even if she did kill the husband maybe there are attenuating circumstances such being abused by him, as is the custom among Muslims to beat their several wives, or maybe he wanted to take a second wife 30 years younger, and she objected, after taking her of him for 25 years and giving him 3 children. All in all you have always been an apologist for the most barbaric Islamic practices. Maybe this is OK in North Africa, where you are from, but it doesn't go well among civilized people.

and stone women. Are you seriously making a comparison between Israeli secular laws and Sharia law? What a facile and false ploy. I'm not buying it. Attitudes are one thing, but only a blind idiot would defend Iran's behavior.
14. Has Hillary Clinton any opinion in this
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (08.30.10)

David Israel ,   New York, USA   (08.30.10)
The Heredim are not making the decisions about punishments in Israel while the Mullah's in Iran are doing. At least not yet and hopefully never.
16. James #2 just one question
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.30.10)
Care to tell us the last time any Jews stoned anybody? If you are really comparing the two, lets see the facts.
17. ABSOLUTELY IN ORDER.............#8
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (08.30.10)
Indeed quite logical question you have posed. This brings us to the conclusion that the upsurge in the story is more to do with painting wrong picture of the Islamic Republic and trying their best to generate hatred towards Iranian clergy. The ruling of murder is based on the normal investigation and why should this lady be spared when it has been proved that she was an accomplice? Bruny's own image at home is questionable and there is no need to blame the editorial coloumn of a newspaper in Iran for that.

has been nice enought to show the paying public - those who pay to by the magazines depicting her racks, I mean. That does not make her a prostitute, but it sure make a pimp out of Sarko .

IRAN#1   (08.31.10)
And if she really cares for people, condemn her midgit husbands policies of ethnic cleansing of Roma in France. Or how the fascist police of her husbands government dragged a black women and her infant on the pavement to arrest them. She is surely an intellectual prostitue if she does not see that side of her own backyard!

Iranian Jew ,   LA   (08.31.10)
Ah! You sound so bitter, girlfriend. Your postings are as useless and odd as usual. Stop the jealosy girl and get your own Sarkozy. You sound like you need one.

SOOO sorry to hear that you've had experience with pimps. Oh well. Is that why you left Iran?
23. Western hypocrisy
Persian boy ,   US   (08.31.10)
Since west put all his weight to protect a murder who accepted her crimes including murdering of her husband , it clearly shows that this is a political motivated move and not a human right gesture to save a innocent person life. This can be just a good reason for west to make new EU sanctions agaist Iran at a time that western countries want increase pressures on Iran by enforcing economic sanctions. These media and political attentions are nothing but well known western hypocrisy.

She was the standing Secretary of State of the US, and before her visit to the region the Arab media, both official articles and editorials called her such racist and gender discriminatory names that even David Duke would have blushed.

29. #8 - not sure Iranian justice is fair like US justice
William ,   Israel   (08.31.10)
Are you sure this woman was judged fairly with accurate evidence...in a country that devalues women and is highly misogynist? It's not the first time people were sentence harshly based on conjecture in speedy trials.
