1. Trying to sugar coat a poisonous pill...
WikiMiki   (08.30.10)
Israel is deligitimizing itself with the words of its Rabbis, actions of its politicians, cruelness of its soldiers and stealing Pal land by its settlers. These so called "legal experts" must be at peak of immorality to try and sugar coat all this.
2. Sue the newspapers for libel
Danny   (08.30.10)
Once it costs people money to lie about Israel then they will be more careful.
3. Mission Impossible ! May God Help them $$
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.30.10)
4. Hebrew U -- no English-lang LLM in public international law
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.30.10)
That the Hebrew U law school has not taken it upon itself to launch a graduate program in public international law, that would compete with such centres as Columbia, Oxford, Leiden, HEI Geneva, etc., is stunning. The organizers of this conference would do well to raise money to enable such a program. It is long overdue.
5. not just Israel's fight but civilisation fight
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (08.30.10)
The left wing activists seek to delegitimize civilisation's[the forces of law and order ] fight against terrrorism while they support terrorists and terrorists states in order that they create worldwide mayhem and disorder for example they say if the US CAN HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS WHY CANNOT iRAN HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS The answer is obvious you might as well say if police can have guns why cannot criminals have guns
6. lawyers are usually rich
sweeter than honey ,   far away   (08.30.10)
or very rich. from rich families too. they come from and belong to a certain class. rich people can buy into, poor people can not. perhaps they will have a legitimacy with others of their class wheresoever. but i'm not sure whose interests they represent. perhaps they will impress and persuade people with through their own experiences of suffering and want, and touch upon a public's imagination etc., etc.. yeah, right.
7. This world has too many #@$#%& hippies
Omri ,   Israel   (08.30.10)
They all think only about themselves and cant imagine what its like to be in Israel with a nuclear Iran. For them Its all just so fun to be smarter then all the governments so they don't need to pay attention to anything.
8. Just makes us look like Scientology - Stop it already!
Josh   (08.30.10)
Why do we need to keep secrets if we are a righteous nation. The criticism being silence is the surest way to make sure the world hates us and the criticism will build up like a damn ready to burst. If the intent is to make the Hebrews provoke the world and increase enemies so that the cult can manipulate the minds of young Israelis to believe boogy men stand outside the gates, then this is the right way to oppress our people. If howvere we need the criticism to clean up the problmes every Israeli knows exists, then lets take it on the chin and grow up. Enough of the cultic bullying using laawyers, back to Torah basics, transparency, singles weights (honest business) and not showing protexia or favors in judgement. Torah not lawyers. The train goes in the other direction idiots. Away from lies and trickery of the law.
9. israel will be always be defended
clint ,   london uk   (08.30.10)
yes we know that the world is trying what it can to deligitimise the holy land of israel, but they wouldnt succeed, israel is built on God grace and love, and for a blessing unto all God' s people all over the world. So Israel will get support from all over.Remember that many people all over wouldnt forget Hitler's concentration camps and what he did.So it wouldnt happened never again,GOD bless ISRAEL and the jewish people all over.AMEN.
10. Response to#5
John R ,   NYC USA   (08.30.10)
When India, one of three countries in the world not to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty(including Israel and Pakistan) developed nuclear weapons, their neighbor determined they also needed them. Not surprisingly Iran(leader of the terrorist world) also feels compelled because Israel has them. Israel violates international law with its settlement policy. The better solution is lease the settlements and gradually over 15 years abandon them as part of an overall peace deal. Disarm your nuclear arsenal and sign the non proliferation treaty. Everyone knows they ( the weapons) could be redeveloped if necessary but they are causing more problems than they are helping.
11. Good idea and

split ,   USA   (08.30.10)
13. A crime is a crime is a crime
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (08.30.10)
...and those that commit the crime must be arrested and punished same as everyone else. Jews are not special. Israel soils Israel, not the other way around.
14. John R , #10 same old lies
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.30.10)
Show us one legal claim by the Arabs for any of the land. Go ahead you challenge our claims where is a single one for the Arabs? You keep ignoring that simple fact. As for the NPT we don't have to do anything that too is called international law. Why is it that only Israel is being demanded against international to sign a treaty that we don't want to?
15. to #10
Omri ,   Israel   (08.30.10)
India, Israel, Usa, Russia and all the other and non-dictatorships have a better sense of when to use it and when not to use it. India has never threatened Iran with a nuke strike and never acted militarly against them. India in this story is NOT the bad guys. Iran on the other hand... terror attack on India, supporting Islamic radical terrorists and ofc publicly claiming they seek to "put Israel off the map". How can you compare Iran and the rest of the world responsible in the same manner? Israel had many wars sense 1966 and never nuked anyone while 2 of those wars brought the very existence of Israel to a hard question. All this while Israel had not barged about having a nuke like Iran, Israel has never threatened its neighbors with that nuke but Iran seems to be doing just that, how is that the same? As for the settlements it doesn't in any way justify a nuclear arment against Israel. Actually it pressures Palestinians to make peace less then all those terror attack on Israel pressure Israel to make the peace. In order to compensate and make peace both sides must be under pressure to make peace so no one is waiting for later just to get a better deal.
16. israeli settlements 10#
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (08.30.10)
where do you get the idea from that abandoning settlements will bring peace?before 1967 there were no settlements and no peace As to nuclear weapons Iran signed the NPT and therefore has to have a fully supervised nuclear programme and is not allowed nuclear weapons .You are telling me that a country which tortures it own citizens abuses its mninorities ,gays and women should be allowed to have nuclear weapons you cannot be serious .you are having a laugh unless you think it alright to abuse women gays and religious minorities North Korea sunk a ship and was not deterred by the US or S.KOREA Hezbolloh and Hamas have attacked Israel and are not deterred .Deterence does not work with these regimes Israel has not signed the NPT and under internatuional law is allowed nuclear weapons Iran has signedNPT and therefore not allowed nuclear weapons .History will show that the Iranian attempt to obtain nuclear weapons will bring utter destruction to Iran Syria and Lebanon and after that Israel will increase its settlement of the West Bank and since there is victors justice international law will be changed to recognise Israel's sovereignity in the West Bank and that is why i support the Iranian nuclear programme
17. steve benassi #13 is foaming at the mouth
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.30.10)
His problem is that he can't name a single law that we are violating. And that is because we're not. All but three nations signed the NPT, and one has since withdrawn from the NPT. Five of those nations that signed it made sure to exempt themselves from obeying it. How does that work? The one that withdrew and two of the non-signers have developed nuclear weapons. The only nation that didn't sign and has not announced if they have developed weapons is the only one being told that they have to sign. Well guess what the fact is no we don't have to sign anything and no we don't have to tell the world anything either.
18. This article is very encouraging as I
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (08.30.10)
see Israel fighting back in this and in other ways. That Supreme Court judges are also participating is wonderful news as this Court is often associated with anti-Israel policies. We are also facing internal problems of a similar kind but I am also encouraged by the recent responses to the various NGOs such as Amnesty International, to the actors proposed boycott and the growing disinclination to back Israeli universities such as BGU and those departments which appear to be affiliated with international boycotters and hate campaigns against Israel. We must be advocates for ourselves externally and resist our inclinations for an "anything goes" policy internally. I do think we should be investigating and putting more limits on media centres such as Haaretz and Maan News (in so far as their journalists reside and report from Israel) as part of an overall effort to abandon policies which allow and even encourage the demonization of our nation and government. All democracies have limits; otherwise, democracies cannot sustain themselves.
19. Waist of time and money
Michel ,   Jerusalem   (03.25.11)
Politicians and medias are not interested to know if Israel has the right to act or react. Nobody cares are Israel is facing rogue people..
