1. YOU DON'T NEED ANY RIGHT TO CRITICISE
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.05.10)
A wrong person. All that the Iranian President do was to point out the obvious.Abbas is not a representation of the Palestinian cause. It looks like that Abbas was asked in Washington to issue this statement criticising Iran.It will do no good to Abbas.Time will tell.
2. and who is?!
muhannad ,   jerusalem/palestine   (09.05.10)
if abbas is not the representative of palestinian people who is? haniye the coward who hid in the tunnels among all hamas leaders during gaza war? or mashaal the other coward who hides in syria? at least abbas lives in a well known house unlike haniye or zahar, and dont tell me the crap that israel wants to kill him, if israel want to assassinate haniye they can in 1 minute, all we can do as palestinians is seek peace on the basis of 2 states for the next year, after that there is nothing we can do but remove the PA and go back under the israeli civil govern and fight for our freedom peacefully on the basis of human rights which will give us everything we have dreamed about, the israeli goverenment will then be in a small corner that only we Palestinians can take its hand and get it out of, just wake up and stand against any kind of killing or hatred, if many israelis forgot humanity we palestianian have lost our land, lives and rights and the only thing we have left is our humanity!!
3. #1 - PA has a bigger mandate than Hamas
William ,   Israel   (09.05.10)
In polls this entire year, Hamas' approval rating had slumped and most "Palestinians" admitted the path of violence through intifada was a failure and was a bad choice on their part. According to PLO law, which Hamas agreed to prior to elections in 2007, the President has the right to dissolve parliament for certain reasons. A bloody coup lead by Hamas to solidify power just happens to be one of those reasons. Hamas made a declaration of war on a sovereign nation and negated ALL previous agreements and movement towards peace. They did so without a vote or a majority mandate. Most "Palestinians" admitted they voted for Hamas because they were promised jobs, new buildings, and better infrastructure. If impeachment were an option, Hamas would already be gone.
4. And Mahmood....
Norm ,   USA   (09.05.10)
Abbas is absolutely correct to point out that ahmadineajad stole his election and therefore does not represent the Iranian people. His days are truly numbered....in the very low numbers. And please do not forget that when Iran instigates the next Mideast war it will be the Palestinian people who will unfortunately get hurt ....not you Mahmood sitting on the Tube going to work in London. So you should shut up when it comes to advising President Abbas or the Palestinian people.
5. dummyjad kicks dogs, they don't usually talk back, just go
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.05.10)
sit in the corner and lick their wounds.
6. It's all a joke
Jonathan   (09.05.10)
Both the Iranian 'president' and the PA 'leader' are not wanted by their people. In case that truth is what we are after...
7. It doesn't matter who israel negotiates with
(09.05.10)
the second it will negotiate with anyone, that group will automatically loses all credibility in the Palestinian street, since they consider them as sell outs to the "Palestinian" cause (gee, wonder what THAT is?)
8. Re: Mahmood #1
Steven ,   London-UK   (09.05.10)
Abbas doesn't represent Palestinians, and Ahmadinejad doesn't represent the Iranians! They are both despots. Pot. Kettle. Black.
9. Pots and Kettles.
Dirk   (09.05.10)
Abbas has some neck questioning the legitimacy of the Iranian regime, was any of his government elected by the people ?
10. Iran, Fatah corruption and Abass
Alex   (09.05.10)
The Iranians are quite right, Abbas and Fatah in no way represent the Palestinian people. They are just corrupt Israeli marionettes that accept the mandatory thirty pieces of silver, in return for the sell out of the Palestinian birthright to the interests of the Israeli occupation and settlement enterprise, and that's what these direct talks are all about.
11. Mahmoud
Julian ,   Sydney   (09.05.10)
Of course you would think Washington is behind the PA's statement, since the Arabs apparently can not take responsibility for their own actions, but don't you think the more likely reason is Arab concerns about the growing influence of the Iranians into Arab and Palestinian affairs?
12. Sorry Mahmoos, could you repeat that again, in English?
DANNY ,   America   (09.05.10)
13. Ahmedi is in power by force of dictatorship and does not
Asher ,   NY,USA   (09.05.10)
have any right to ask Abas legitimacy. His presidency is all based on corruption, and his hands are into blood of thousands of Iranians up to his elbows. He is a blood thirsty dictator who attacks every regime in middle east like a mad dog. What does Palestine has to do with him? Is Palestine a minor an orphan or a widow or owner-less? why he can't provide his own people who suffering so much and living under poverty and Iran is loosing so much of his rights in Caspian Sea and this little guy is not able to do anything about it. These are all gimmicks to fool his nation and stay in power and slowly but surely he'll be gone too as it happened to all the dictators in the history.
14. #1 "Mahmood" from Londonistan
(09.05.10)
Mind your own business. You have no right to criticize or interfere with the internal affairs of the State of Israel and the PA. Not while you are not a citizen of either. Who the heck cares about what your inflated arrogance thinks? First, start by writing you name in lower case, like normal people do, then stop massaging your ego with false pretense of greatness. Maybe after you do that, you'll realize how insignificant your cowardly self is in the greater schemes of life. Live within your own proportions "Mahmood", and understand that nobody here cares about what you think or do for as long as you don't kill Jews. Once you do that, well, you know what you can expect from us, and so do Ahmedinejad, Nasrallah, Hamas and Syria.
15. Ahmadinejad treats Arabs worse than anyone else
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (09.05.10)
Ahmadinejad is not an Arab, his country treats its Arab minority worse than anyone can claim Israel does (even in Gaza). Iran has tried ethnic cleansing, poison, and forced relocation on its native Arab population. How can Ahmadinejad criticize anyone fro representing "Palestinian" Arabs?
16. no.2
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (09.05.10)
But what exactly is humanity ,the type you refer to Muhannad ,as the English Collins dictionary describes it in the human race or collectively civilised humans ,not barbarians who kill in the name of Allah/Arafat ,try again?
17. Might makes right
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (09.05.10)
Achmadinijad thinks that who ever yells the loudest is the one to represent the people. That's why he yells so loud and makes so many public statements. He thinks if he drowns out everyone else, it will make him more popular. That's why he thinks the violent Palestinians are the ones who represent the Palestinian people, because they cause the most chaos In the real world, a leader who doesn't have to yell and scream everything they believe is the one that really represents the people.
18. happy arabs
viva attaurck   (09.05.10)
can i just say that when i speek to israely arabs they all say how happy they are living in israe.
19. Abbas and Mahmoud both the credibility of...

Jeri Springer show participants. For those who are not familiar with JS show, it was a trashy show that pitted a prostitute against her pimp who had dumped her for another one - for example.
20. #18. Isaeli Arabs always say...
Persian CAT   (09.05.10)
things like that when they're talking to the stupid.
21. It about time someone returned the favor...
Persian CAT   (09.05.10)
to this loudmouth fraudulently (s)elected thug from Narmak, Tehran. (Narmak is the working-class neighborhood where Ahmadinejad grew up.) While Abbas has no legitimacy himself because his term had ended years ago but he manages to say in office by force, corruption and despotism (and a lot of help from the US), I am glad someone is throwing mud at the professional mudslinger from Narmak. A large portion of the Iranian people have been throwing eggs at him for his lying and thuggery, it's about time others joined them too.
