Israel is a shining example of a people that shook off foreign occupation and colonization, took back government of their own country. Nabil Sha'ath is proud of his conquistador ancestry - we don't find people like that in South America anymore.

Maybe Chavez should retire from politics and hand the presidency over to his brother, if he has any. Maybe he can turn the presidency over to a stuffed toy and call it his brother. He should probably do it soon. I understand that he has plans to declare the national language of Venezuela to be Swedish. And that everybody must change their underwear twice a day, and wear it on the outside, so he can check! And that nobody will be allowed to eat nuts, because that would be an insult to the president's family. (This is too easy...)
9. kick this crazy potential murderer Mahmoud Ahmadinejad....

President Hugo Chavez you are an anti-Semite!! Or you are unwise leader that let’s crazy nuts pull you by your nose. Are you so dumb? I don’t think so, But Mr. Castro thinks so, and he said it in so many words. So don’t make a monkey out of your self and kick this crazy potential murderer Mahmoud Ahmadinejad out of your life.

13. Why must people love Jews...
Laua ,   England   (09.11.10)
or anyone else but themselves? It always seems important for Jewish people to feel loved. I don't get it and I find the term philosemitic offensive. Why do people have to be philo-anything? I'm Black British and I could care less if people hate "my people" or hate me for that matter. It is irrelevant to my existence. Most online articles that I read about Jewish people are concerned with who loves or hates them and this phenomenon is not as prevalent with other ethnicities who have also suffered oppressions (e.g the descendants of the 10 -50 million Africans who died during the slave trade) Jews do seem to spend considerable amount of energy searching to see who might be their enemy. In the 21st century when Isrel has nuclear warheads, it is not as if there a mass expulsion of Jews around the corner. I just find the whole "Jews must be loved" concept bizarre.

How? Boiled? Fried? Poached?
15. Hugo Chavez loves Jews
Green Baron ,   Bethesda, MD, USA   (09.11.10)
Please bear in mind, this is the same Hugo Chavez who said that Israelis (and, by implication, Jews) "are the descendants of the killers of Jesus Christ." He loves and respects Jews about as much as I love the patch of poison ivy growing near my home. I do, however, respect that poison ivy enough to avoid it. I rather imagine that Chavez respects Jews in that manner.
16. Erdogan, Castro, now Chaves. who next?
Rehavam ,   Israel   (09.11.10)
May be tomorrow Ahmadinejad will profess his long unrequited "love" for the jewis people. After all they hate only zionists.

Until 62 years ago, the Jewish people did not have a homeland, and thus were always minorities in whichever country they lived in. Some countries were hospitable, some were not, and in every generation from the times of Haman to Ahmadinejad (interestingly enough, both are from Persia) there was someone who tried or threatened to eliminate the Jews, so Jews always had to be on their toes. This paranoia kind of subsided by the early years of the last century. Jews in western Europe were very successful, educated, and felt like they were completely assimilated. They didn't care too much when people were saying bad things about them, since they felt so confident as supposedly equal citizens of their European countries. While the "aus-Juden" (those Jews who came to western Europe from the east, where they were used to persecution) fled immidiately when the Nazis came to power, since they sensed trouble - those other "assimilated" Jews stayed, believing it would all boil over. What became of their fate, everybody knows. And while the establishment of Israel helped to greatly relieve the fears of Jews from annihilation, the existential threat still very much exists. We are still gorged smack in the middle of half a billion Arabs who don't want us here. The only reason why we still exist here, is because the West, primarily America, supports us. Nukes alone cannot guarantee our safety. Thus, public opinion in the West is of great importance to us.
