31. #30 Steve Klein.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (09.13.10)
Actually, I was agreeing with you, my apologies if I didn't make that clear. I was just saying that our use of the terms ''right'' & ''left'' don't really mean much, maybe hawks & doves is better, I don't know. In any case, I don't have a good answer for you, I don't understand at all why Israelis tolerate this political system.
32. The Land belong to Israel!
~~Lengualima~~ ,   USA   (09.13.10)
If the Palestine's Mandate in 1919 sets in their articles 2,4,6,7, that his power is for the creation of a Jewish's Home, and his article 5, prohibits " all ceded or leased of this territory" to Britain as power that had received the Mandate, is not clear ? that all the territories of the old Ottoman Palestine was assigned to an Jewish's Home. Israel (26,000km2) more Jordan (92,300Km2) today. If in the Mandate do not talk about the creation of other state or Home, only for the Jews, is necessary to be a genious?, to deduce that all the territory of the Mandate was to be part of the Jewish's Home, If we go to use the resolutions of the ONU, I agree with, We must begin with the Mandate: Commission, Peel, Woodhead , Londres, resolution 181 and other. If the territory of the Ottoman Palestine was 118,300km2 more the territory the Golan High delivered to Syria by Britain, and the today extension of Israel is 20,000km2, who stole, who has territory that does not belong.?
33. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.13.10)
Your historic homeland is the Hejaz in Western Arabia, not Israel. Israel is the historic homeland of the Jews. So the rest of your post is not worth addressing as it is based on a complete falsehood.
34. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.13.10)
Israel has been the victor of six wars and has prevailed over sixty years of unrelenting Palestinian terror. For the Palestinians to think that they are anything but a vanquished people is foolish. They do not get to set terms and conditions for anything. They are the architects of their misfortune, and must take ownership of their mistakes, which have been legion. All that Palestinian whining and hand-wringing is what is childish.
35. Abass 4 , Bibi 0
Ron ,   Tel Aviv   (09.13.10)
So far Abbass is winning. He ordered to kill 4 Jews.
36. To: Ram at No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.13.10)
I largely concur with your post, which I think is excellent and well-written. Netanyahu has shown himself to be accommodating and considerate, and Abbas has come across as demanding, obstinate and extremely whiny. I hope you have read Moshe Dann's Op-Ed piece which was published in the YNet Opinions page today. It is must reading for anyone who actually believes that the so-called "Palestinians" are an identifiable society and it puts paid quite deftly to any one who still believes that there could -- or should -- ever be a viable "Palestine."
37. obama
ed ,   reno, america   (09.14.10)
once again obama shows his true colors, he continues to ignore the palestinians refusal to budge and tells Israel that they should bend if not break for this joke of a peace proccess to continue.the truely sad thing is he sees this as progress and sees it as the right thing to do. truth is not part of his thinking.
38. to 34
nahil   (09.14.10)
iam a grandmother and when my grandson is angry from a matter i used to deviate his attention to a diferent matter .. sure he is one and a hahfe year ..sara iam not a child nor the palastinians to deviate our atention to other matters . no one fear israil military force not now not before in the six wars i was in jerusalem in 67 war ..i know better than you about that war .any child in gaza knows better than you about the lead casts and any one knows better about lebanon wars ..but the 48 war was another story it pulls the second and third and the twenty if there were twenty
39. Sarah #29 re Daoud Kuttab #14: Following
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (09.14.10)
is some clarification. Mr. Kuttab regularly writes articles which appear in Maan News. As Maan Readers know, nothing appears on its website which is even slightly sympathetic to the state of Israel. In fact, Israel is always demonized by Maan and a number of its Posters are out and out anti-semites whose educational levels fall into that which one would have expected from Hitler's dirty Brown Shirts. I've made these comments just so Posters understand what they are dealing with in Daoud Kuttab, an Arab citizen of Israel who receives all the benefits of Israeli citizenship but earns his living and gets his kicks by demonizing that selfsame nation.
40. Theater of the absurd directed by Obama
David T. ,   USA   (09.14.10)
will lead to a very sad hollywood ending.
41. I would suggest that all interested
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (09.14.10)
Readers refer back to the piece Martin Sherman referred to in his commentary on Talkback #13. I recall reading it then and have reread it with great interest. It is an important backgound piece to the present opinion piece by Mr. Sherman and will halp the Reader place it in context. Essentially, he goes a long way in showing how Israeli politics are informed and influenced by the leftist media, the Courts and the self-interested Israeli academia, especially those involved in the social sciences. Therefore, rightist leaning governments such as Likud always succumb to the underlying influence of the leftist propaganda machine.
42. Talk About Absurd...
Ginette Golden ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.15.10)
By the way # 1 Steve in Boston is absolutely right in his analysis. Now let's forget about terrorism and bloodshed for a while and please take a pick at this hilarious video... I don't think I have ever seen a Khomeini guy smile until today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClzgWqyFMMQ&feature=related
43. Compulsory Peace
Mentat ,   Dune, The Universe   (09.15.10)
The Obama regime believes that an Israeli/Arab peace agreement will resolve all of its problems in the Islamic world. Accordingly, the regime will force Bibi and Abbas to come to some agreement. After the agreement is reached, many things could happen. The most likely thing that will happen is that Hamas will take over in the West Bank too and the status quo will resume. Have a nice day!
44. To: No. 38
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.16.10)
Wow. Grandmother, huh? Me, I don't have a frame of reference. Both my grandmothers went to the gas chambers. So .... I don't really care much about your family and your story. I am devoted to the State of Israel. Got a problem with that? Too damn bad. Deal with it as best you can.
45. Stranger than fiction
Mal ,   USA   (09.17.10)
As Dylan says: "Everybody said they'd stand behind me When the game got rough But the joke was on me There was nobody even there to bluff 'm going back to Israel I do believe I've had enough.
