1. Americans on the verge
Williamson ,   New York   (09.14.10)
The Saudis will soon bring to the country US 60 biilion. This will create jobs and prosperity. What does Israel have to offer us? Problems and arrogance. We are becoming fed up of this. If you want to meddle in our politics, fine. We'll treat as the 51th State. We will remove your leadership from Tel Aviv, intall a temporary American Governor and make peace with the Pals. Then, maybe, if you deserve, you can have your sovereignty back one day.
2. Peace given free first then alk
matthew 28:19 ,   singapore   (09.14.10)
‘PEACE’ FIRST THEN TALK! PEACE SHOULD BE PROVIDED FREELY FIRST BEFORE ANY TALK FROM BOTH SIDE. 'Peace' talk itself is a wrong concept from moment it started. If any side cannot provide peace freely, that side is disqualified for talking, talk should not even start at all before anyone come clean and fair. 'Peace' is something we must give as human being sharing this planet earth, it not something we should use as bargain for land, esp. using terrorism to threaten for land. This is no different from Mafia world where gangsters go round threatening peace in exchange for money (in this situation: land). Peace should be given freely, by curbing the terrorism, then can both party go to the table and talk about land-dividing. The pals have basically nothing to give in this talk, but Israel has to give chunks of land, it is truly not a 'ONE EXCHANGE FOR ONE' case, it is simply a 'Israel GIVE exchange for Palestinians not to TAKE (take life by terrorism)" case. So one must Give in order for the other party not to TAKE. Don’t make sense! Israel is only talking of half of the Pals (Abbas can't even make peace with Hamas or control Hamas). even if Israel give up E Jerusalem, Hamas can turn around and demand Haifa & full refugees-return. Abbas must make Hamas promise peace first, then he is qualify to go to the table. in the end, it will still be 1 Jewish + 2 arab states! Ynet, pl post, toda.
3. Meeting place is another reason why these talks will fail,
Salma ,   Palestine   (09.14.10)
I wonder why the direct talks to be held in Washington , Sharm el-Sheikh,or Aqaba?! If you really want to succeed , these peace talks must be on the ground, for example, at Kalandia Checkpoint ! Q. PLZ: What is the explanation of "rein his people in" ?!
4. EXCELLENT POINT
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.14.10)
As has been noted, first and foremost the Palestinians seem to always have an "all or nothing" approach to peace talks. The results have always led to failure, or we wouldn't be here now. There already would be a peace agreement. So first the Palestinians need to abandon that failed "all or nothing" approach. Second, if the Palestinians can't deal with the "building freeze" issue, how on earth will they be able to discuss borders, refugees etc.,if they can't sit still for something as simple as the "freeze". Israel has tolerated the murders, rockets and mortar shells from Gaza, yet still Israel is willing to continue the talks. But the Palestinians seem unwilling to get serious, looking for any reason to walk away. Israel understands they will not get all they want in any final deal, it's about time the Palestinians grew up, and expect the same.
5. The Kosovo option for the Palestionians is looming.

The "Blue hats/helmets" are coming to the West Bank.
6. williamson you arrogant oaf
Shaul ben-coren ,   vancouver   (09.14.10)
Williamson, you wahabee pawn, if you want saudi money and desire to supplicate them so much, move to riyadh. the muslims think that you, as a kafir, deserve absolutely nothing. think of this talk back when, G-d forbid, if you get your wish, you are no longer allowed to walk down queens blvd on the side walk as a non muslim,
7. Netanyahu should demand reparations
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (09.14.10)
Reparations for every Jew killed or harmed in any way by Palestinian terrorists.
8. @1 Have you been drinking again?

9. #1 you are right
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.14.10)
The US and Saudi Arabia are natural allies, and Israel is not, that is how it always was. The US supported Egyptian violations of the cease fire in 1970, and "supported" Israel in 1973 to make money from arms sales and to wrest the Egyptians away from the Soviets by sacrificing Israeli interests. Israel should wake up and forego the fake American friendship and join natural allies like China and India.

Your arrogance is only matched by your ignorance.By all means accept the oil and blood money from the Saudi monarchist dictatorship. If you wish to be allied with religious fanatics, racists and sexists that is of course your option, but may I suggest that you are probably in a minority of your fellow Americans who have not forgotten that it was the sons of Saudi who were responsible for 9/11 ( or have you already forgotten). It is the self same Saudis who begged for the coalition forces to remove Mr Saddam. No matter how much they spend with the US, they are an incompetent military and just like looking at the hardware. As to your comments re Israel, may I suggest that you remove your blinkers and examine the reciprocal benefits both military and hard cash that your bankrupt country receives from small Israel of 7.6million souls
11. #1; Williamson, and facts
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.14.10)
That's why a recent poll (77% of Americans) stated that the Palestinians should recognize Israel as a Jewish state. So when you write: "What does Israel have to offer us? Problems and arrogance. We are becoming fed up of this" It would seem your in a minority of American opinion. Since most Americans also blame the failure of the peace talks on the Palestinians. The Saudi's owe us big time, for saving their butts in Gulf War 1. Saddam had taken Kuwait...he believed it to be part of Iraq, taken illegally by the UN, when creating Kuwait...and Saddam was poised and ready to knock off the Saudi's next. The U.S. wasn't going to allow Saddam to control 20% of the producing oil supplies, so this is just some pay back by the Saudi's for the U.S. saving them from Saddam. The rest of your post is nonsense and ignorance.
12. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.14.10)
What do the Saudis have to offer you? Production cuts and increased prices for crude oil? Instability galore? A society that treats women like chattel and thinks it is perfectly alright to behead people in public squares? A society in which all religions other than Islam are illegal? By the way -- Israel has done more for the United States than the United States has ever done for Israel. Keep in mind who gave the U.S. its first look at the Soviet T-72 tank when it was the mainstay battle tank of the Warsaw Pact countries and there was nothing in the NATO arsenal that could pierce the skin of the T-72. Keep in mind who gave the United States its first look at the MIG-21 and the MIG-23. Keep in mind who has created roughly half of the chemotherapy protocols in use in the world today. Keep in mind who devised cellular telephone technology. Keep in mind who is responsible for facial recognition software in use in every U.S. airport today. Keep in mind who is responsible for mass spectrometry. Keep in mind who is responsible for some of the most sophisticated software programs in use in the defense industry. Don't be so smug. With "friends" like the United States, Israel probably doesn't need any enemies. We certainly don't need you militarily. Of late, the United States cannot seem to fight its way out of a brown paper bag, despite its technological superiority. Look what has happened to you in Iraq and Afghanistan and South Waziristan. Oh, and remember Somalia? Please. Just stay out of Israel's way. Good luck with your new friends the Saudis.
13. To: No. 1, redux
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.14.10)
Nearly forgot to ask you this: what was the nationality of 16 of the 19 hijackers on September 11? Saudi. Like I said, good luck with your new friends.

Seppo ,   Finland   (09.14.10)
Pals refer to Kosovo, but everything is upside down as in your talk. Serbs made mass murders in Kosovo. After peace negotiations in 2000 Pals started making mass murders in Israel for many years. With Kosovo example NATO should come and level down murderers Arabs in Palestine. This was the Kosovo problem. Israel has left the Arabs to live in peace but Arabs keep on killing Israeli civilians as they please, teaching every schoolboy and girl to kill Israelis and thus getting "honourable" martyrdom. The truth is that if something is compared to Kosovo it is Israel, not Arabs, who knows where they come from.

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3954359,00.html I translate the words "check points and wall" in LIFE, in SURVIVE. Soldiers found in the past, suicide bombers at the check points, they found terrorists on the way to Israel with arms and bombs. Incredible that you are so blind and you don't understand. WE DEFEND OURSELF FROM PALESTINIAN TERROR AND THIS IS NOT A CRIME! I believe that wall and check points will be even after the establish of the palestinian state. We don't trust you we will never trust you. keep this in mind.
