Using the words 'compromise' and 'Palestinians' in the same sentence is itself a contradiction in terms. You ask 'why should Palestinians accept Israel's conditions' - well why indeed?! Why should they change the habits of a lifetime and accept any talk of peace. Why should they negotiate when their agenda is well known. It's in the charter of Hamas and in the charter of Mahmoud Abbas's own 'moderate' Fatah. They both call for Israel's destruction. Any negotiations or talk of 'peace' by the Palestinians is itself a fraud and more and more people are waking up to this idea. They've not made a single concession even now and for every Israeli concession they receive they are emboldened to demand more. Such is their 'mentality'. Arafat made a living out of breaking truces and violating agreements, so why should his cohort, Mahmoud Abbas, be any different - especially when he's publicly sworn to follow in Arafat's footsteps. The Palestinian/Arab/Islamic world thought it of no consequence in 1948 to violate even the UN's partition plan and instead seek the genocide of the Jews. Even their leaders declared their intent to 'finish what Hitler started'. Yet to all these conditions the Israelis agreed. Such was their desire for peace, after so many years of persecution and hatred. For a peaceful coexistence the Jews were even prepared to take the crumbs that fell from the British table and accept partition, even after 77% of the original Palestine Mandate had been given to the Arabs to make yet another new Arab nation called Transjordan.
