RJBH ,   Methil   (09.17.10)
If the Zionist State behaves well... there is no need for Concern... Relax soon it will be MAD to attack any of your neighbours...just as it is for them to Attack you... Its MAD but it works.

Russia has the right to sell to whom it chooses. Tough shitski .What's in it for russia to refrain ? Arms business has no morals, the bottom line is $$$
6. INFLUENCE AND LIMITS
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (09.17.10)
If Israel is not a major customer of russian arms ,then Israel has limited influence over to whom Russia can sell its arms.
7. this is Just Typical and Predictable!
Chris ,   Wales   (09.17.10)
This is pathetic,But Israel should not be surprised! the Russins know full well Syria is Aggressive and are technically at war with Israel! they also know they are a terrorist state and are Arming Hezbollah! Last week Israel signed an Agreement with them, week later here they are supplying Syria with weapons! This shows that Russia is taking advantage and acting contrary to the Current peace moves. last week I wrote here that Russia was not to be trusted when Israel signed an Agreement with them. We know from the scriptures that Israel will be invaded by a Powerful nation from the extreme north, there are no less than 4 chapters mentioning this Northern Power,Daniel 11:40-45 Ezekiel 38 & 39,Joel 2:20 all speaking of this Northern Power as coming against Israel in the last days,JUST AFTER ISRAEL HAS ENTERED INTO SOME KIND OF REST(Peace) Russia want to Dominate and monopolize the world's energy markets,Iran is mentioned in the Ezel38:5 as being allied to Russia and Syria's Capital is mentioned in Isaiah 17:1" An oracle concerning Damascus: See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins." well, what can we say except Israel should not have signed any thing with Russia that might Compromise her own security. And you can also count on the fact Russia will also supply Iran with the S-300 anti-aircraft-missile systems. Russia are always playing two sides and their real Ally will always be the Arab-Muslim world. you can never Trust the Russians!
8. good
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.17.10)
damascus will be a smoldering ruin should one of these missles be used by syria or her friend Hizbulla... all syrians will be a target by us.
9. re 8:S-400 systems likely next to counter Israel air attacks
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.17.10)
The P-800 can be used for sea or land attacks with a 300km range and highly accurate and can be aimed at a single building or ship and hit it, unlike Syria's current missiles this one is hard to bring down. This weapon is far more dangerous than S-300/400 defense systems and must be stopped from getting to Syria.
10. RUSSIA: THE REAL ENEMY
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (09.17.10)
THEY HAVE SET IRAN UP WITH THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITY, THEY ARE ARMING THE SYRIANS. CLEARLY THIS IS THE ENEMY WE WILL LIKELY FIGHT IN GOG AND MAGOG. IT'S GETTING PRETTY OBVIOUS.
11. #10 unfortunately.most people are not aware of thé Gog,magog
chris ,   wales   (09.17.10)
yes so true,if you check mine in no:7,I make the point about the Gog & magog war there..most Israelis are aware of this Gog war but how many takes it serious is another question.
12. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.17.10)
MAD = Mutual Assured Destruction Israel can vaporize its nasty neighbors any old time it wants. Blissfully, the reverse is not the case. The "Zionist State," as you so viciously and hatefully put it, will survive and thrive. Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Iran and anyone else will be stricken from the history books. Much as it must pain you, you know it to be true, so methinks you should shut your mouth and restrict yourself to a discussion of those things simple enough for even you to understand. Single malt and hagis come to mind. Leave the serious debate to those with the knowledge and the ability -- decidedly not you.
13. Russian weapons, generally
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.17.10)
Not all that good, actually. Remember the SCUDs? I also remember two lovely days in June of 1982 when Israel shot down two-thirds of the Syrian Air Force with all Israeli planes returning safely to base, thank G-d. Less well known is the fact that over half of the pilots were Russian! Several days later, I remember one Israeli F-15 shooting down four Syrian MIGs. We have all seen how well Russian military equipment acquitted itself in Afghanistan (LOL!) and, more recently, Chechnya. Not much to fear from Russian materiel. And if Syria so much as tries to do something incredibly stupid -- forget Damascus .... our new northernmost city will be Aleppo. The Syrians would be well advised to keep that very much in mind.
14. I just checked technical characteristics of P-800 "Onyx" and
leo ,   usa   (09.17.10)
I do not think either Syria or Hezbollah will be able to use it effectively. Even though missile itself is "fire-and-forget" it still requires sophisticated detection capability prior to launch, which none of Israeli neighbors possesses or can use safely.
15. to #10
Dino Domingo ,   Vancouver, Canada   (09.17.10)
so the real enemy of the day is Russia. yesterday it was Hamas, Hizbullah...the day before it was Barak Obama...before that the Turkish Flotilla and then England, Australia... "who needs the U.S." seems to be the general consensus... a few weeks back it was Poland and Germany...before that and after that it was the U.N. and then France... HEY... IF I AM MISSING ANYTHING PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST! Do you people just think the world is all wrong and you are pitcure perfect? Have you ever thought about why all this is happening to you or do you feel like you are God's chosen people...free of sin, perfect in every way? Maybe put some thought into why Israel seems to have a lack of commitment from any country...even the US doesnt really feel close to them. If it wasn't for Jewish influence in the US Government your country would be a parking lot and not Lebanon or Syria like most of your people think! I recommend to stop acting like a victim...its pathetic. Once your government shows some accountibility things will change...until then this will continue!
16. #2 Singer sing this song
Phil ,   Ireland   (09.17.10)
Why don't you sing the Bob Dylan song "Neighborhood Bully". It's about the world calling Israel the neighborhood bully while he fights to survive. Example: "he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad. the bombs were meant for him. He was supposed to feel bad." One thing you should take from it is anyone who tries to destroy Israel, will be destroyed instead.
17. THOSE MISSILES CAN HAVE ONLY ONE TARGET !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (09.17.10)
WHETER POSESSED BY SYRIA OR HIZBOLLAH !!!. Arn.
18. 13 - You obviously have short memory.
Sam ,   Haifa   (09.17.10)
In first 48 hours of the Youm Kippur war 33 years ago Israel lost half its air force and more than half of its tanks to those Russian weapons. Only massive US aid in weapons and personal saved it from total defeat. Selective memory can be quite dangerous, especially with delusionals. Shana tova and find solace to your acking soul.

Stephen in New York   (09.17.10)
We understand the danger of the worst totalitarian menace ever to confront the West and you do not. Israel is the point of the spear that resists the worldwide caliphate. I’m sure you have no idea what I refer to.

stocking up the tinderbox... WHY.....???? This whole b.s. may well explode in the not so far away future... But this time it will be necessary, to degrade Syria to the point where Iraq has already arrived: An entity unable to challenge its neighbors for decades to come..........................
24. I'm Don't Understand Why Sarah Hasn't Been Chosen The .....
World Citizen ,   the world   (09.17.10)
Supreme Commander Of All Israeli Military Forces. What a edge she could give the Israeli forces with her knowledge of military weaponry, battlefield tactics and logistics. Ynetnews should forward some of her comments to the Israeli Defense establishment. This keen mind shouldn't be wasted.
25. #13-THE RUSSIANS HAVE BEEN UPGRADING THEIR WEAPONS
chris ,   wales   (09.17.10)
DURING THE LAST 5 YEARS,AND SOME OF THEIR WEAPONS ARE EVEN BETTER THAN AMERICA'S WEAPONS
26. To: No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.17.10)
You're crazy, and your memory is quite flawed. "Massive US aid in weapons?" Not hardly. It took an encircled Egyptian Third Army, Israeli troops on the West Bank of the Suez Canal preparing to march on Cairo and the late Golda Meir (z.l.) reminding Nixon of Israel's nuclear option before the United States GRUDGINGLY agreed to send a handful of spare parts. Don't you realize that the reason Israel developed a military/industrial complex is so that could never happen again? Massive U.S. aid, indeed. Talk about delusional ...
27. To: Chris at No. 25
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.17.10)
Their top-of-the-line materiel (which is NOT for sale) hasn't done terribly well in Chechnya, dear .... American's weaponry is pretty good. So is Israel's. Both are far, far better than anything in the Russian arsenal. By the way -- did you know that the world's largest oil reserves are in Siberia? The Russians cannot get at it because they lack the technology to build drill bits that can penetrate the permafrost. Only two countries in the world have the requisite technology. One is the United States. Israel is the other. Sweet ..... the Russians REALLY need to learn how to play nice with Israel.
28. #12 has oversimplified things once again
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (09.17.10)
You state that, "Israel can vaporize its nasty neighbors any old time it wants." Not if it considers the consequences to the diaspora, it can't. Perhaps you might consider toning down these fanciful calls to jihad. It is unbecoming.
29. #13 Sarah
Jeff G. ,   USA   (09.17.10)
We saw just how well modern Russian weapons worked against Israel's once vaunted Merkava tanks in Lebanon when the Hezbollah militia destroyed 50 of them or so with Kornet ATM's.
30. You would think Russia would know better
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.17.10)
Russia was just the recipient of a terrorist attack. You would think, they would not wish that on anyone else? But, alas that is not the case. It seems were getting back to the old cold war days. Most people don't realize, that up until 1967, the U.S. didn't give much aid to Israel. It was during and after the Six Day War, the U.S. realized how much influence Russia was gaining in the Middle East. Being one the biggest energy sources in the world, the U.S. stepped up their help to Israel. In was in the U.S. national interest to have a military presence where all the oil was. It didn't hurt that Israel had just kicked the butt of Soviet supplied Arab armies. In that process had captured all the latest Soviet weapons, small arms, Tanks, trucks, armored vehicles etc., Israel of course shared all the Russian technology with the U.S. military community. Actually not long after that a Syrian pilot defected to Israel with a Russian MIG-23 jet fighter, again Israel allowed the U.S. come over and look it over. So maybe the Russians still hold a grudge, who knows? But, I still think it's just dumb of the Russians to think they can trust these guys. We all know the old saying, "the enemy of my enemy, is my friend". But once their enemy is gone, they will have no problem turning on the Russians. I'm surprised they don't see that.
