1. HAMAS WILL REAP WHAT IT SOWS IN THE WIND
stude ham   (09.17.10)
good work israel!
2. Hamas never vowed revenge, but punishment
observer   (09.17.10)
3. Revenge
Ezra ,   Florida   (09.17.10)
These archmurderers, when they murder on right and left, they look at it as "natural", "another day at the office". But when one of their leaders is being punished or just killed they use this as an excuse to murder more. They call it "revenge", as if they really cared about that monster who was killed "in the line of his duty"... Excuse the expression.
4. What will come
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS   (09.17.10)
UN will condemn Israel for its act of provocation in defending itself BHO and his House Jews will condemn Israel for threatening the talks with this outward sign of self-defense Eurabia will condemn Israel for not providing Hamas flak jackets to protect against this Hamas will order women restricted to their homes without male relatives escort in fear they will expose their womanly charms to the Hamas terrorists thereby distracting them from their Islamic duty of killing infidels
5. Hamas you earned it, how does it taste?
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.17.10)
Like anybody cares about your outrage. What did you think would happen? That Israel would do nothing, and take your cold blooded and cowardly ambushes? You called down the thunder, how does it taste? There is more to come, so go hide in your rat-holes. What amazes me, is Hamas calls drive-by shootings of civilians (including a pregnant women), "heroic acts of resistance" and holds "victory" parades. Then whines like little babies when their leaders are killed. You can dish it out, but you certainly can't take it. Frankly I was wondering how long Israel was going to wait before responding. Let me be clear, I wish with all my heart that there could be peace between Israel and the Palestinians. I believe it's better for both peoples. I don't understand why groups like Hamas won't let go of their hatred...well that's not exactly true...but it would help the Palestinians and Israel to have peace. It's just that Hamas loses it meaning, it "right to exist" if there is peace. So Hamas would rather continue the war than have peace. Think about it, Hamas only has ONE reason to exist, DESTROY ISRAEL. That's what's in their charter, and why they are trying to stop the peace process. So take away that (Destroy Israel), and you take away any "right to exist" for Hamas. Between Israel's "right to exist" and Hamas, they go for self preservation, over what's best for their people. That is the Bottom Line. What the question should be, is what do the Palestinian people want? I think most side with Hamas. So what does that tell you?
6. Peace Process?
Max ,   Washington DC   (09.17.10)
It is unlikely the Peace Process will get anywhere until Hamas terrorists are disarmed and the PA gets leadership that doesn't glorify and support murder of Israeli's.
7. GOOD RIDDANCE
(09.17.10)
8. Oh, the rhetoric!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.17.10)
"resistance is capable of striking harshly at the occupation." Yes. Using Qassams that land in empty fields and by killing pregnant women. You must be SO proud. "Our battle with the occupation is not just about action and retaliation. It is a fateful battle that will never end." Oh, annoy Israel one time too many and watch just how quickly the "battle" ends. In Cast Lead, Israel mobilized about 5% of its available reserves. Up that number to, say 20%, and do you have any idea what will land on your head? As to "fate" -- you won't much care for yours.
9. Don't fool yourselves, Israel is just the toughest
DANNY ,   America   (09.17.10)
thing stopping the Hamasshole from building their base, to which their goal of ruling the world would be launched. None of these islamist have short term plans. They all have plans to cut your heads off and after you are dead convert you dead headless body to islam. This is really world war three yet we ain't quite got that concept yet. Just listen to the friday prayer chants, these nuts are not going away. not when they have states supporting them. Just you watch... given a little victory they will all fold like dominos running off to join jihad, they really think they will rule the world. hang on to you butts....
10. hamas revenge promised
moron ,   galut   (09.17.10)
and if you let terrorists live what do they promise-to kill you but not in revenge--vengeance is stupid as is retaliation often--kill them first-let them threaten after -not because you like killing but because it is a moral choice in their case
11. Hamas wants revenge, what else is new
Yehoshua ,   usa   (09.17.10)
Hamas hates those jews "Hamas will kill them once, twice, thrice , four times, no make it 5 times." What a joke they are.
12. Spoiled Children with Weapons
zumo ,   moscow   (09.17.10)
It is a mistake to glorify Hamas, Hezbollah, the Taliban, etc. They are spoiled children with weapons. Calling them terrorists, "resistance fighters", or whatever other bold-sounding words gives them the illusion of some kind of legitimacy. They really are just overgrown spoiled children with dangerous weapons. The proper course of action is to take away their toys, spank them, and send them to their rooms to think about their bad behavior.
13. observation
Golan ,   modiin   (09.17.10)
History begins today. Not yesterday when hamas launched rockets, kidnappings, suicide bombings, knifings, shootings, axing, stonings, No. Like the six days war started history for the Left, this act to kill a terror mastermind is the beginning of the third entifadeh, like killing Ayash "caused" a cycle of violence (as if there were no terror attacks (bus 25, Beit Lid I and II?) before Israel killed the so called engineer. patterns don't stop, only the date on the calendar changes.
14. ....... more .....
Jonathan ,   London, UK   (09.17.10)
Now is a good time to strike again. Well done israel, do it again, and on the other side, do whatever you can to make peace. Many Palestinians are just normal people craving a normal life. It's those like Shalbiye that do what they can to keep resistance alive until Israel is in the sea. Get rid of them and make peace at the same time!!
15. #5
Jonathan ,   London, UK   (09.17.10)
Mark, very well said. Perhaps you should also enter your cooment on blogs where the sentiment is anti Israel
16. NO tears for a killer...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.17.10)
17. #2 - you mean like they did to that pregnant woman?
William ,   Israel   (09.17.10)
Punishment - Hamas-style. Kill civilians and pregnant women at point blank range.
18. Notice how upset they are when targeted
William ,   Israel   (09.17.10)
They accept civilian deaths very well. Infact, they welcome them as they are only as strong in the Intl spotlight as the number of civilians they can throw into IDF fire. But once their leadership is targeted, suddenly they're concerned. Which begs the question - how can any "Palestinian" in their right mind back these fools who launched an unnecessary war, using civilians as protection, instead of building one factory, school, or even fix a sewage line in years?? I applaud the death of this senior terrorist. That's one less that Barak will try to release later.
19. #5 - hatred by Leftists and despots are like air
William ,   Israel   (09.17.10)
and groups like Hamas or Black Panthers NEED an enemy to exist. To them, its the hatred that gives them the reason to exist, hence the reason they cannot let go of it. Like Arafat, he was a terrorist at his heart but couldn't deal with the obligations and lack of notoriety that went with Statesmanship. If Israel disappeared tomorrow *G-d forbid) then Hamas will find a new enemy...secular Muslims, maybe, or join Muslim Brotherhood to attack "corrupt Arab leaders". You name it. There's also big money in terrorism.
20. That's strange
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (09.17.10)
I thought killing terrorists is good for peace.
21. liars as expected
observer   (09.17.10)
Abu Shilbaya, a Hamas political activist, not an armed militant (aged 37), was killed by 3 bullets shot at close range while he was still sleeping. a B’Tselem field worker, Eid As-Sa’di, who had visited the scene, said that the Israeli military statements were “implausible”. “As-Sa’di said ‘it would have been possible to arrest him, or just as easily to injure him’. The rights worker said that the room where Iyad was shot was no more than three meters by three meters, and expressed skepticism over the report that the known Hamas leader had come running at troops, that soldiers had had time to warn him to stop, and then shoot. Is that the routine arrest raid as described by the IDF. Another routine recently adopted by the IDF is to throw stun grenades at the road in order to stop Palestinian vehicles for inspection. Then, they ask the passengers to go out the car and undress.
22. Let me get this straight...
Truth   (09.17.10)
Hamas says,"We're gonna kill you" and if we fight back they say, "We're Gonna KILL YOU!" Hmmmm now I get it...
23. Hamas / Revenge
Simcha ,   So. Cal.USA   (09.17.10)
As though we can tell the difference between your rationale of revenge and your usual run of terror. My regret for you is that only one of you vipers was taken out. I spit on his grave!
24. Now that is what I call gun control.
Chaim ,   Arad   (09.17.10)
25. It's part of the "Peace Process". Well-done Israel.
The 11th Man ,   London   (09.17.10)
26. What?
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (09.17.10)
The guy wasn't happy with his 72 virgins?
27. The flotilla had film footage.
Ernest   (09.17.10)
This incident could have had film and audio recordings being as close as the confrontations were. IDF claims Iyad abu Shibayeh charged them and a brother of his says a bedroom door was knocked over and Shibayeh was shot in bed. It seems like there's more to this story than is being told.
28. #26 M.Hartley
Simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (09.17.10)
You're wrong. Remember the 72 was upped to 2.5 million? And I hope they all have the clap!
29. What? There are NO peace talks with ham-ass.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.18.10)
30. #21-Observer. So what? Now there's one less terrorist
Allan ,   Delray Beach, Fl.   (09.18.10)
breathing. Ask me if I care whether he was was killed while charging at soldiers or while under the covers in his warm bed. Either way, there's one less terrorist walking this earth. You're insistence that he was a 37 years old "political activist" rather than the terrorist he was is your standard and tiresome anti-Israel bias. Citing to a B'Tselem activist who was "at the scene" gives you no credibility given B'Tselem's known anti-Israel stance.
