Dov ,   IL   (09.19.10)
Those that might - do and those that can not - talk
2. israel already made that mistake in Georgia some time ago
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (09.19.10)
Now they want to broaden their mistake ?? Lets see israel do so and the next move by the russians would be arming the iranians to their teeth. I believe israel already feared a lot from the S-300's being delivered to the iranians(I bet if israel go's on and arms russian enemies, russia would probably give the more advanced S-400 to the iranians). And by the way: We already saw how those israeli weapons managed to help the Georgians in their fight with russia. The russians were this close to getting to the Georgian capital. I think the israelis need to learn from people like Hitler and Napoleon, before getting into any brawl with the russians.
3. Israeli gov't.'s are incompetent.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (09.19.10)
What is wrong with our politicians? Our political elites are just a failure, since the beginning. Our successes were forced upon upon us & we managed to turn successes into failures anyway. Netanyahu & his side-kick Ehud Barak, the serial bungler, just continue this long tradition of failure. We should have eliminated Syria as a threat long ago - instead, the fools babble about peace while our enemies arm against us. Stupid.
4. Sure sell it to third-world countries
Danny   (09.19.10)
and watch them sell it to China.
5. Russia doing because Gas found off coast of Lebanon/Israel
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.19.10)
Russia wants Lebanon/Syria contract to drill off of their coast for gas. Large part of gas field under Israeli waters but also under Cyprus and Lebanon waters. A well drill in any of the three areas will get the same gas and there lays a problem but far from only one.
6. Support Chechen Liberation!!
Evgeny ,   Ukraine   (09.19.10)
Arm the Chechens!
7. Only excuse..
peter vojta ,   czech republic   (09.19.10)
Israel has been selling arms to Russia's enemies anyway and does more.... Georgia and its officials has always worked for Israel. Georgia style aggression 2008 carried school samples of Israeli conduct of brutality against population of Ossetia. peter czech
8. the first batch goes to afghanistan, of course
oferdesade ,   israel   (09.19.10)
since when do we need someone to be our enemy's enemy for us to sell them arms? did we not sell uzis to sth american regimes bent on killing jews with them? anyone remember irangate? hell, the reason we're so mad at the Hezbollah's rearming is that we're making absolutely nada off of it.
9. #2 Back from your visit to Mathausen, we missed you

11. Russian arms
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (09.19.10)
Like typical cry babies the Russians will run to the UN as soon as some of the former non-Muslim republics of the old USSR recive arms etc. from Israel to protect them from their Muslim trouble makers in the Caucasses ,the hypocrisy of nutcases like Peter the Czech only highlight the obvious reasons for Israel to arm it,s allies ,wherever and whereever ?
12. #2, #7 defending Russian agression?
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (09.19.10)
Your hypocrisy is amazing. You two Israel-haters always criticize Israel for its 'occupation', 'oppression' and 'aggression' against Palestinians. Yet when Russia become the neighborhood bully in the Caucas and invades Georgia, you defend it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uyTFPwSXUI
13. @3 Terry, What?
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (09.19.10)
How should we have eliminated Syria long ago? Please elaborate on what I am sure is a hair brained idea. I'm presuming your line of thinking is one of the possibilities 1) Nuke? - LOL 2) Conquest? LMAO Oh Terry, your well written posts can't hide the frothiness at the sides of your mouth But, anyway, please let the forum know who Syria should have been "eliminated"
14. Russia - this is disgusting !
Jonathan   (09.19.10)
What's the up-side ? We are trying to build peace in he area, and you are helping Iran, Syria and Hizbualla ? How does that help? It has been so many years that you are trying to break Israel. Did not you learn that the soviet union will fall before the Israeli people give up?
15. learn from hitler?
Ilana   (09.19.10)
I BELIEVE WE DID. WE NEED iSRAEL. WE NEED A STRONG ISRAEL. wE NEED TO KNOW WHO ARE ENEMIES ARE AND WHO SUPPORTS THEM. And this time we are no longer quiet. Israel may have sold arms already to Russia's enemies but not on the level that would make them equal to Russia(dah). We also need to ask why does russia have these enemies??? Human rightists should certainly ask and then act.
16. There you go!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.19.10)
That's how to do it. Resurrect the arms deal with Georgia. That will make the Russians sit up and take notice. Especially given all the problems in Ossetia. If the Russians can sell weapons to Israel's enemies with impunity, Israel can sell weapons to Russia's enemies, with equal impunity. It's a two-way street. Whom do YOU think is getting the better end of the deal, Israel's enemies or Russia's? I'll tell you. Russia's enemies.
17. 12-they probably use the same computer
(09.19.10)
18. I am sure this is not a new for Russians
Russian Teacher   (09.19.10)
Do you want Georgia on Russian hands? Russian army can do it in a couple of years. We are improved your record,we won over Georgia in only 3 days. And Georgia was better armed that arabs.
19. no.16
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (09.19.10)
The problem is the Russians ,like the Chinese haven,t yet realised the potent ial danger of large Muslim minorities ,s uch as the Ughurs in China ,who went on the rampage earlier this year killing the native Chines Han on some ridiculous Muslim nonsense ,the former USSR now has dozens of Muslim satellites ready to committ atrocties like that of Breslan ,a few years back or the violent Chechen separatist problem ,so let the former Communists reap what they sow?
20. The problem is Putin
Brod ,   USA   (09.19.10)
The hardline move by Putin and his AntiSemite forces is the problem. They choose a pathway that continues to fuel the tinderbox of the Middle East by supporting the dark forces. They have not learned any lessons for Chechnya, Beslan and Islamist-Jihadist terrorism in Russia. They are the very ones that are trying to stamp out Opposition voices in Russia-the forces of Democracy who want liberty, life and the pursuit of happiness.
21. Russian Jews, Please Help Israel
Jordan   (09.19.10)
Where are those rich and influential Russian Jewish oligarchs when the Jews and Israel really need them. Surely. they have some political clout in influencing Russia to stop these weapon sales unless of course they may both stand to profit from such weapon deals.
22. they didn't learn from hitler
(09.19.10)
Didn't hitler kill over 20 milion russians and six million jews and now russia is helping others trying to kill six million more again? One would expect some sympathy and understanding from russia especially after holocaust. Instead they are arming others to kill jews again but now in the middle east.
23. What Russia Wants
John Gilbert   (09.19.10)
What Russia wants is for Israel to buy weapons from it instead of from the U.S. What Russia wants is to control the oil rich Persian Gulf instead of the U.S. What Russia wants is for Israel to be on its side instead of the U.S. side. What Russia wants is for Jews to come from the U.S. and Israel to live in, develop and support their Jewish Russian homeland Birobidjan instead of Israel economically and politically. Is this too much to ask?
24. Will sale of Israeli drones to Russia go through? You bet!
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.19.10)
Israel wasn't self-confident enough to cancel arms deals with Turkey. There are enough forces in Israel to insist the deal to provide drones to Russia go through, despite the fact that Russia is arming Israel's enemies. Barak can add this blunder to his list. And no, Evgeny (#6), this is hardly reason to support Chechen liberation. Chechen rebels are Islamic fanatics, and hardly worthy of support.
25. Correction #20
Brod ,   USA   (09.19.10)
..."They have not learned any lessons FROM"...
26. #2 Both Hitler and Napolean failed.
Joey Rose ,   Portland   (09.19.10)
Temporarily victorious doesn't cut the ice.
27. #7 and a comment
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.19.10)
#7 now we see who you are. No Czech would ever support Russian aggression against a small country. Even Putin admits that Ossetia was a set-up to attack Georgia. The Russian cruise missiles are nothing compared to the $60 billion F15 and helicopters to Saudi or the US Harpoon missiles to Egypt. US and Russia have interests and Israel isn't one of them. All that Israel can do is retain second-strike capability and keep Judea, Samaria and Golan to keep Israel safe from nuclear attack. It is important to remember that it is Obama and not Putin who is trying to force an Israeli withdrawal and surrender of second-strike capabilities. and #23: except for Birobidjan, what is so bad with what you suggest considering that Obama hates Jews?
28. To: Hebrew prophet at No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.19.10)
Should they reap what they sow? Oh, most assuredly. They will, too. I hope you finished a good signature.
29. THE CARD IS WITH THE RUSSIANS
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.19.10)
If Israeli authorities ever indulge in paying back Moscow like that. These type of reaction have only paper value. The S-300 stories were enough for us,wasn't it?
30. stupid threat by Israel
zionist forever   (09.19.10)
Russia is only going to get tougher and less willing to compromise on issues like the sale of weapons to Isreals enemies if we are making threats to arm Russias enemies. We should sell arms to Russias enemies anyway its a sure way to make alliances and give Israel a foothold in eastern Europe.. Make threats it will anger Russia and it also means if we do want to do business with Russia we must commit ourselves to not doing business with its enemies. Keep it diplomatic Israel can continue to sell weapons to Georgia and any other enemies of Russia and at the same time via the diplomatic route try pressure Russia not to sell weapons to the arabs. Doing things that way gives us the best of both worlds because we can still make money and try and influence Russia. Threats will just get Russia angry because they will feel Israel is overplaying its importance if it is threatening the mighty Russia.
