1. " wars would follow" - But Israel is showing restraint
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (09.21.10)
Yes Mr, Gul in the past when such aggression has happened " wars would follow". But in this case Israel has chosen not to see this sending of armed thugs as a declaration of war by Turkey. So you can sleep easy knowing that even for you Israel can show restraint.
2. THE TRUTH IS VICE VERSA
CUPRA ,   AMSTERDAM   (09.21.10)
IN OLD TIMES ORGENIZING SUCH A CRUISE TO BRAKE AN ARMY BLOCKADE WAS CONSIDER AN HOSTILE ACT THAT JUSTIFIED STRONG AND SEVERE REACTION
3. In Old TImes
Gary ,   Australia   (09.21.10)
In Old Times supplying terrorists or supporting a mutinous bunch , specifically by a country who called itself an ally was cause for war. What would Turkey say if "aid" flotillas started being sent for the PKK. We know how Turkey feels when the Armenian genocide topic is even raised by any country - let alone their own "occupation" of Cyprus.
4. Non Islamist Turkey would never have sent martyr wanabees
PETER SM ,   Melbourne Australia   (09.21.10)
who made it clear they were looking for violent confrontation and sang about previous Moslem massacres of Jews. The captain would have turned the ship around if he knew it was not government policy.
5. nuclear free
olavi ,   espoo, finland   (09.21.10)
The world should be nuclear free, but it never will be. Israels last defence are these. However the US is hypcritical but its influence is falling like cows tail.
6. Israel must apologize for his horror flotilla attact..
kemal ,   Turkey   (09.21.10)
7. the Turks' position is quite bizarre..
bob ,   NZ   (09.21.10)
the UN panel which is looking into this from the POV of international maritime law is unlikely to place the blame on Israel so one is left at a loss to understand the emotional statements which keep coming from the Turks. By harping on about it now they are increasing the amount of embarrassment they will suffer when the UN panel reports back.
8. you dont need a nuclear bomb to kill million armenians
sami   (09.21.10)
Gul should apologize to all the victims in Turkish history, before he starts lecturing others
9. responsibility
Ruben ,   Tel Aviv   (09.21.10)
Turk, take responsibility for brainwashing your own people for 90 years that Armenians never existed in Anatolia, before preaching about responsibility to anyone else.
10. #7, its election time...
Danny   (09.21.10)
11. So just to be clear
Danny   (09.21.10)
Turkey fills a boat with it nationals, bleses the trip, makes sure there is some incident and Israel is the one that needs to take responsibility?
12. Turkey must apologize for killing 9 Kurds every day!
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (09.21.10)
The Islamic government of Turkey are hypocrites. Maybe Turkey should apologise for it's ongoing oppression and murder of Innocent Kurds. Der Spigel recently produced documentary evidence of Turkish military use of illegal chemical weapons use on Kurdish freedom fighters
13. Re 6
Galut ,   Selah   (09.21.10)
Quote: Israel must apologize for his horror flotilla attact.. (End) kemal , Turkey ====== why ? it seems the protesters were the ones laying in wait with clubs to injur or kill the soldiers as they boarded... it was a legal blockade... Israel was in its rights to board...they made reasonable offers to dock at another port to inspect the material on the ship and transport to Gaza...but those in the flotilla leadership refused... israel ueed minimal force.....international law says ships breaking blockades may be sunk... its the leadership of the floatilla that must apoligize to Israel for provoking violence by laying in wait with clubs ....
14. Turkey is the one to apologize
Laura ,   jerusalem Israel   (09.21.10)
Turkey has murdered countless Armenians and Kurds. They came to murder Jews and we protected ourselves. Israel has every right to defend ourselves, and we will continue. Turkey ...stop the murder.!
15. " Israel must apologize for his horror flotilla attact.. "
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (09.21.10)
When lobsters whistle, kemal.
16. It's a pity the Armenians hadn't had a nuclear deterrent.
DR ,   UK   (09.21.10)
If the Armenians had held a nuclear deterrent I doubt if there would have been an Armenian genocide at the hands of the Turks. If the Greeks had held a nuclear deterrent I doubt if Turkey would have invaded Cyprus and illegally occupied it for 36 years since 1974. It clearly frustrates Turkey and the Arab/Islamic world that Israel allegedly possesses a nuclear deterrent. It becomes so much more problematic when they discuss their agendas behind closed doors. Make no mistake, Turkey is no friend of Israel, and is hand in hand with Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah in their long term goals. As for Turkey apologising for it's involvement with the IHH terrorist group behind the flotilla, the Armenian genocide or the occupation of Cyprus - hell will freeze over first. The hypocrisy is sickening and Turkey's rhetoric has the subtlety of a serpent.
17. Israel nuclear
TAHRIR QUDS ALYAHUDI   (09.21.10)
ISRAEL should have atom bombs for very simple reason. To show to the Arab world that if they try to finish the JEWS,they will also be finished. JEWS disappear Muslims disappear JEWS LIVE Muslim LIVE
18. kemal from occupied Turkey
TAHRIR QUDS ALYAHUDI   (09.21.10)
Have you been smoking some sort of funny Turkish cigarettes with your coffee. No way ISRAEL to apologise,it should be the other way round.Flotilla was sent to provoke ISRAEL with your EDROGAN BLESSING.
19. CYPRUS AND OTHER CITIES
What about occupied ,   IZMIR,ISTANBUL,NORTH   (09.21.10)
Go back to your hole where you came from.
20. In old times,
hans ,   ger   (09.21.10)
Turkey owned military equipment which was quite modern, but as time goes by, some of it is becoming a bit classic, stuff you'd expect in museums. Sounds like a good reason for not attacking the Zionists to me, not even being able to copy their drones.
21. To #6: Kemal - Turkish apology for atrocities.....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.21.10)
against the Kurds! Yes, an apology is necessary. Turkey MUST apologize for sending an "humanitarian" flotilla to Gaza with armed terrorists on board! Never forget Kemal, about Turkey's past: the Armenian Genocide and what you did to the Greeks and now the Kurds. I am sure that you support Palestinian Independence. Why don't your campaign for Kurdish independence away from the barbarism of Turkey?
22. flotlla leading to war.
larry Butler ,   israel   (09.21.10)
be glad it didnt, or the Turkey PM would be lerning Hebrew now!!!
23. It was an act of war
Golani ,   Vineland, USA   (09.21.10)
That is true. It was an act of war by sending a Flotilla Ship.
24. Responsibility for supply 72 virgins...
Rehavam ,   Israel   (09.21.10)
25. Maybe it's a cue.........
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (09.21.10)
...for the chaps in Dimona to point some of the missiles we allegedly have in the direction of Ankara........
26. Re No 7 - don't hold your breath
David ,   Modiin, Israel   (09.21.10)
Why is the UN panel unlikely to place the blame on Israel? When the UN has a chance to criticize Israel, they have never let inconvenient facts get in their way up to now.
27. 6 kemal remember the Gates of Vienna
(09.21.10)
28. 6 We see the true face your persuasion
(09.21.10)
29. Our relations with Turkey are fine the way they are
Ilan ,   Ariel   (09.21.10)
Better to recognize them as hostile and get on with our lives rather than thinking falsely that they are our friends.
30. gul...
Adir.h ,   Israel   (09.21.10)
in th old times and even now supporting terrorists considered as a agressive act against Israel or any other country i still think Israel respond for the flotilla marmara violant reactionwas too soft the Idf should have bomb the ship in the water. invading another country borders and a country that put a siege/blockade on another territory was never treated so easy and gently like Israel treated this ship. turkey are the one who need to apologize for their ignorance and attitude against Israel.
