31. Israel should be proud
Danny   (09.22.10)
that its record on human rights is disapproved of by: Angola Bahrain Bangladesh Burkina Faso Cameroon China Cuba Djibouti Gabon Ghana Jordan Kyrgyzstan Libyan Arab Jamahiriya Malaysia Mauritania Mauritius Mexico Nigeria Pakistan Qatar Republic of Moldova Russian Federation Saudi Arabia Senegal Thailand Uganda Uruguay, Zambia Israel should put out a press release to that effect!
32. #6,why do you arabs lie? REPORT WAS FOUND TO BE MOSTLY A LIE
......DACON9   (09.22.10)
I BET YOU ARE ON ABBAS PAYROLL TO LIE ON EVERY TALKBACK.... GO COLLECT YOUR CHECK. YOU LIED YOU DID YOUR JOB YOU ADDED TO THE PROBLEM MABROOK
33. UNHRC
David C ,   NY USA   (09.22.10)
The UNHRC is dedicated to going after Israel to the exclusion of everything else in the world and to the complete distortion of facts and laws to fit their political beliefs. It is time for Israel, and the US to take this body on directly. The only parties that should have been investigated are Turkey, IHH,and the mercenaries that Turkey armed and paid for. Israel was acting within the San Remo manual re blockades against a party that a nation is at war with, which is Hamas which controls Gaza, and which took control by violent coup.
34. Laughable finding, that does not apply
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.22.10)
You talk about reaching, these idiots stretched out way there. Again looking for a way to demonize Israel, fortunately international law experts will eat this false finding to hell. You have a group that was on the record before they even they started the investigation. They Had already come to a conclusion. In any U.S. court this body would have had to Recuse themselves because they are charged with "a duty of impartiality in administering justice". Clearly this panel does not meet that definition. So any opinions rendered should be null and void. Certainly, at least here in the U.S. a judge who believed you to be guilty and publicly stated that fact would not be allowed to sit as judge for your trial. That is only common sense. Second, this applies to civilians, and there is a question as to whether the passengers crossed that line and became combatants. But as with all these findings, that do not carry the weight of International Law. As Israel has pointed out, this was the expected outcome from a bias panel, and no surprise. Which was why Israel refused to cooperate with this bias group.
35. 23 I am afraid is the other way around Israel is losing
Dave   (09.22.10)
credibility and fast, despite all the comments here the world takes this invesitgation seriously and it will have consequences.
36. Malaysian women's rights advocate? Is this a joke?
Cynic ,   USA   (09.22.10)
Let me understand. One of those condemning Israel comes from a country that has no human rights when it comes to women and non-muslims.
37. The same UN who gives an audience to a Holocaust denier
Cynic ,   USA   (09.22.10)
38. UN - un-believeable !!!!
Susanne   (09.22.10)
I was myself quite shocked when I heard the news of 9 people having been shot on that boat, although I was aware that these "actvists" hadn't been on a peacefull, humanitarian mission at all. Later reports of what happend did explain (and justify to a certain extend), why the Israeli navy-men resorted to fireing live ammunition. But my overall impression is, that the government and military leaders failed very heavyly on this occasion and a sounder assessment could have spared 9 lives and disgrace for Israel. That said: The UN report is outrageously partisan. How is it possible, that they even don't have the courtesy and abide by the most basic rule of reason to hold back their conclusions until publication of the results of the enquete lead by the israeli commission. There is only one explanation: They don't give a damn to know the facts and they don't care to hear what Israel has to say. And this is a disgrace. Both morally and legaly. Shame on this UN Commission.
39. UN
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.22.10)
I am not surprised at all as 95% of us knew the UN would find Israel guilty of bla bla bla...
40. 29 danny - stop burry your head in the sand.
Sam   (09.22.10)
Even with Israeli censorship trying to block info, there are numerous investigations conducted by IDF mostly ending in convictions and admission of guilt. You can live in your fantasy world and believe your nonsense, it just does not make it so.
41. Believing the UN lie....
DR ,   UK   (09.22.10)
As Winston Churchill once said, 'a lie gets half way round the world before the truth has a chance to get it's pants on....' Here the UN perpetrates what is expedient to it's own agenda. The UN Human Rights Council has made it an official policy, and a permanent feature of every council session, to review alleged human rights abuses by Israel. This effectively revives a practice of the widely discredited body it replaced due to it's virulent anti-Israeli platform, which also reviewed alleged Israeli abuses every time that it met too. The organisation UN Watch has already condemned the 'Human Rights Council' which has devoted 100% of it's censure powers to one-sided condemnations of Israel, with supporters of the Arab and Muslim countries & the Organisation of the Islamic Conference holding considerable sway amongst the 47 member forum. Having been chaired by nations such as Libya, this so-called "human rights" commission was created to find Israel guilty of "war crimes" for defending itself against an aggressive attack and the kidnapping of its soldiers within its sovereign borders, in clear violation of international law. A policy now extended to include the 'flotilla incident' where Council members had already violated any pretence at neutrality by predicating guilt upon Israel prior to the commencement of their 'inquiry' in which Israel quite rightly did not participate or present it's perspective on events.
42. How can they call the report
Nate ,   USA   (09.22.10)
bias when they make the following claim: "Israel is a democratic and law abiding country that carefully observes international law and, when need be, knows how to investigate itself." Also, when someone questions the legitamicy of Israel, the excuse that the UN partioned the land is over played. Yet when the UN releases a report which concludes Israel broke international law, the UN all of a sudden becomes a "useless" organization. Give us a break with this patheticness.
43. slander
sheikofchic ,   nyc usa   (09.22.10)
This UN report is yet another gleeful slander of the jewish state. Video footage and pictures show the soldiers being attacked with pipes and knives on the mavi marmara. On the ships that were peaceful no one was hurt. If israel intended to "maim and torture" then you would see casualties throughout. Now logic is compelling enough for those who wish to demonize the people of israel. If only half of the massacres and deeds they attribute to israel were true there wouldn't be any palestinians left to lob rockets and blow up cafes and busses.
44. #35 ah that is where you are wrong because world leaders
Omri ,   Israel   (09.22.10)
arn't so stupid but if they want good oil prices they must say anti-Israel talk in all matters. Yet looky what the UN does, NOTHING! The UN actually stands for UnNeccecery, they never take any action against Israel its like a little dog that likes to bark a lot. And there is good reason to why its happening i stated it above: World leaders aren't stupid.
45. UN
Rose Carter ,   Muskogee, USA   (09.22.10)
UN is some joke, Israel is the Apple Of GOD'S Eye, so please, lets get serious here... Israelite's is Jesus Christ Mininstry being taught in your cities? that will be the last restrainer to GOD'S comming!!!!!
46. to #18 Matty
Tamir ,   Los Angeles   (09.22.10)
everyone can say what they want about this but the bottom line is this will have the exact same effect as the Goldstone report (much ado about nothing). The UN is completely irrelevant in the eyes of people who understand right from wrong and have been so since they aided and abbeded the capturing of the Israeli pilot Ron Arad. If these UN violations actually meant a diddly damn to anyone would Gilad Shalit still be sitting in a rat hole somewhere in Gaza? would Hamas have been allowed to brutally murder the other two captured Israelis and return their bodies in exchange for captives? (among many countless other existing violations) Tell me Matty do you blindly turn an eye to all of the arab human rights violations just so you can blatanlty accuse Israel and seem righteously vindicated when a one sided report comes out? Where are you on feedbacks when Arabs are accused of far worse things? This is why your talkbacks are met with such disdain because you have absolutely no moral equivalancy and you are completely biased.
47. the UN is corrupt to the core by arab money!
Jean ,   Paris   (09.22.10)
The UN was supposed to investigate both sides:Israel & Turkey(especially turkeys ties to Al-queida).But they didnt! they only condemn Israel as usual. Israel can bet an Iranian or a Turk paid UN officials bribery money to leave all conclusions and blame against Israel?
48. Human rights experts?
Nic ,   uk   (09.22.10)
So not experts on the law? Not esperts in statistical anlysis? Not experts in counter terrorism? Not experts in military policies and procedures? Not experts at all. Those that judge conjecture and unsubtantiated hyperbole only do so to inflate their own sense of superiority; all they do is add to the problem.
49. 44 i see i won't change your mind since like most
Sam   (09.23.10)
Israelis you are too dunb, arogan and ignorant to listen. Just look at Israel standing in the world today and it will tell you something about what world leaders are thinking.
50. Re #1
Andrew Brehm   (09.23.10)
I don't understand how you guys are "oppressed" and have Internet access at the same time. Make up your mind.
51. #40, name one
Danny   (09.23.10)
name one case where an allegation by Goldstone ended in a conviction.
52. # 18
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.23.10)
Tamir, it was Hezbullah who "brutally murdered the other 2 captured Israeli soldiers(on the Lebanese border INSIDE Israel) & returned their bodies for captives" not Hamas. As for Matty, no need to take her seriously here.
53. My mistake;
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.23.10)
my reply is for # 46 (to Tamir) & not # 18.
54. UN
Ilana   (09.23.10)
Such lies it is almost funny. Does anyone take them seriously? Those who love what they say do I guess!!! It is pathetic. They try soooo hard.
55. Preordaned Outcome - FORFEIT
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (09.23.10)
When one side shown up and the other doesn't the side that shows up prevails. The Israeli government decided not to show up. So its side was not heard. That is the classic definition of a forfeit. This was a calculated decision by the Israeli government, just like the Goldstone inquiry. And in both cases, the result was the same.
56. What does UN stand for?
mike ,   canada   (09.23.10)
Unwanted Nobody's?
57. #6 - Didn't Golstone admit no factual evidence in his report
William ,   Israel   (09.23.10)
58. Paintball guns was "disproportionate force"?
William ,   Israel   (09.23.10)
Up against metals bars, guns, and knives, I guess the only weapon Israel will be allowed to use is lemon meringue pies, but woe until Israel if it gets in someone's eye and becomes a war crime.
59. UNHRC has always been anti-Israel. That's why other UN repor
William ,   Israel   (09.23.10)
is being pursued by another UN investigative body which has a maritime law expert on it. Notice that the UNHRC's report is based on their own assumption of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Not on the actions of the flotilla (where the other 4 ships gave up peacefully), not on the mounting evidence that the purpose was to break the blockade, and nothing about the intentions of the activists who some were violent on video before even leaving port. This report is a total sham and, as pointed out before, was written before it was begun. I mean - a woman's rights activist from Malaysia? What's the connection?
60. #35 - the world isn't taking UNHRC seriously
William ,   Israel   (09.23.10)
UNHRC has been criticized by quite a few nations already for having a biased agenda just as its predecessor did. The world is waiting for the other UN investigation which includes a NZ politician with expertise in Maritime Law. That's the one with the most credibility. So far, several high profile Intl lawyers and a full investigation aired on Panaroma agreed that the event was pre-planned to attack Israel and broke many laws. Israel was vindicated. I suppose to rabid leftists, you'll just keep going from court to court until you find one that agrees with you.
