So many people hate Jews... Really sad.

debra ,   usa   (09.26.10)
3. #1, Did you ever ask yourself why?
Native ,   Palestinian   (09.26.10)
4. #2, it's not Russia, it's Ukraine
Eyal ,   USA   (09.26.10)
Though Russian would probably do the same. They all hate us over there and they don't really know why.
5. A knife is no damn joke.
Cameron ,   USA   (09.26.10)
Until you've had someone jump at you with some steel, you really can't quite imagine just how heavy the situation can get in a heartbeat. I had it happen once, and that was wild as it gets! May God spare you all such an event.
6. Don't go to Uman....
(09.26.10)
Why go all the way to Uman, to fund Ukraine a Jew hating nation. If you must make a pilgrimage go to one of the graves of a rabbi buried in Eretz Yisrael. It is a sin to even leave Israel for such a trip.
7. #4 when my family was there it was russia.plus, no
debra ,   usa   (09.26.10)
country in russia's sphere of influence ever gets truly free of them permanently.
8. Antisemitic incident? I am not sure...
John ,   Europe   (09.26.10)
"Members of the local Breslov community in Uman estimated that the attackers were looking to provoke local Jews and "settle the score" with them, after a Jewish man stabbed and lightly injured a local resident during Rosh Hashana." When you have this between, let's say, Detroit and New York, who would then say it is "anti-American"? If you would have this between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, would that be antisemitic? There are many unclean details in this case. Anyway, poor boy. He got stabbed and he (most probably) did not deserve it.
9. #3 For the same reasons that they hate the Arabs even more!
Nahum Korda ,   Ein Ziwan, Israel   (09.26.10)
10. Some things just don't change!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.26.10)
The Ukrainians have killed Jews for centuries. Many even helped the Nazis solve the "Jewish Problem" as did many Eastern European folk. The fact is that the "Palestinian Problem" is just another way for an anti-Semitic world to attack Jews.
11. Don't go to Uman - period.
ROBERT ,   Montreal   (09.26.10)
Guess how many millions are invested in the ukrainian economy instead of being spent in Israel... The ukrainian population is clearly antisemitic, as everyone knows...
12. It's time to rebury Rabbi Nachman somewhere in Israel
Joe ,   Los Angeles, USA   (09.26.10)
Seriously though, why not? I know that some religious leaders in Israel have called for the reburial. I think it would be a good idea.
13. I live in Uman, know excactly what happened
Nina ,   Uman,Russia   (09.26.10)
my mother works at the police station in Uman,so I know what happened. Israeli was warned not to walk towards Pushkin Street as it off limits to visitors from Israel. Our police patrolman, warned him one over the speaker to stop. The jew refused to stop, so he got shot. Local police station is checking report on casulties.
14. agree with #12, next to Kvar Yosef HaZaddik!
Frank ,   London, UK   (09.26.10)
I think reburial near Kvar Yosef HaZaddik would be a good idea. A lot of Bretslaver did pilgrimage to that site, while it was abandoned by everyone else. In that respect, R Nachmal z''l has definitely earned the merit for reburial in Eretz HaKodesh
15. Capital Punishment "out "in Ukraine
Roland Seener ,   London England   (09.26.10)
16. wherever I go I go to Eretz Israel
Tomy ,   Serbia   (09.26.10)
Rabbi Nachman used to say "My place is only in Eretz Yisrael, and wherever I go I'm going to Eretz Yisrael. " Make his dream true.Return his body to the land of his forefathers and bury him on Mt of Olives. He would be happy to rest in Jerusalem,in the Land of Jewish people
17. Breslov Idiots, STAY IN ISRAEL!!!!!
Yoni   (09.26.10)
We are commanded in the TORAH to go to JERUSALEM not uman. This is worship of the creation not the CREATOR, avoda zara in the worst form and everyone wonders why a Jew dies? I am sure Rabbi Nachman if he were alive would be ashamed of his followers for their cult like pilgrimages to his kever and giving goyim millions of dollars when Jews in Israel should be the benefactors of all this money.
18. Time to Rebury Rabbi Nachman in Israel. Its a sign for those
Jae ,   Lynn US   (09.26.10)
with understanding and wisdom. Pretty evident actually, a lot of wisdom is not required. Probably a small child would say to do the same... lets see if there is a movement in the Breslov community to do so....I hope and I pray there will be.
19. I knew him
Moshe R ,   Ariel, Israel   (09.26.10)
I knew Shmuel Tubol. He was a friend. I mourn him. The ukrainian youth were always giving shmuel and the rest of the jews that live in the area hard time. There is no love lost between them. Maybe it isn't politically correct to say this about a fellow that was just murdered. I know that he carried around with him a very suspicious and negative attitude towards the ukrainians. He was certainly a fair and generous person at the end of the day. You could find no fault with him. I hope this murder is dealt with in justice, and I hope and pray that this violence does not lead to more violence.
20. Rabbi Nachman's bones
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.26.10)
Bring Rabbi Nachman's bones home to the land that he loved - the Land of Israel.
21. #13 Uman is in the Ukraine not Russia!
(09.26.10)
what's wrong with you?!
22. Time to stop this ridiculous idolotry!
(09.26.10)
leave them bones where they are!
23. Rabbi Nachman specifically requested to be buried in Uman...
(09.26.10)
so why move his remains to Israel? Leave him where he is!
24. Let me get this straight...
(09.26.10)
The hospital emergency room in Ashquelon was almost moved because of protests from Ultra-Orthodox who claimed that bones of ancient Canaanites (non-Jews) couldn't be moved. But it is ok to move the bones of Rabbi Nachman? What is it that I am missing here? Is it that the Rambam specifically states that this type of thing is Idolatry?
25. Rebury the Rabbi's remains in Israel
Barry ,   London   (09.26.10)
The Ukraine is a dump. its meshuggah to want to go there in the first place. This was bound to happen. You know what the people there are like, don't give them the benefits of your tourism - they don't deserve it.
26. #13 Pays to read the article "Nina"
Cynthia ,   USA   (09.26.10)
Uman is not in Russia and he was stabbed, not shot. Crawl back under your rock.
27. #13 - one of the dumbest lies I've seen---
Susan ,   DC, USA   (09.26.10)
-- because you show clearly that a) you didn't even bother to read the story (This boy got STABBED, NOT shot!) b) your entire area is antisemitic. "Off limits to Israeli visitors"? What on earth is that supposed to mean - other than that you all hate Jews!
28. re 13 "know exactly"
EG ,   Israel   (09.27.10)
I know1st hand. Nina's "pravda-truth" is a pack of lies! Pushkina is central st of Jewish visitors NOT off limits; It was next to his house! NO speaker warning! If policeman there why not stop the vandalism & attack?! The boy was stabbed not shot.
29. body
alex ,   lon   (09.27.10)
