Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.27.10)
as the freeze, if only the freeze of your brain continues uninterrupted...
32. #21HARVEY----TACTICAL?THIS IS NO SPORT
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (09.27.10)
We're dealing with people's lives and security, not off-side traps. Abbas wasted 9 0f the 10 months and if he were given another 6,he'd waste the first 5 and demand more time. The time's come for long term STRATEGIC decisions, not short term TACTICAL ones. You've lived too long under New Labour short-termism. Even putting that aside, you're wrong.Abbas's arrogance has made him keep trying to dominate the situation and he's hesitating, refusing to make a decision until he's consulted the Arab League. This isn't the time for the Israel government to blink and offer more concessions;it's in a win-win situation. If Abbas carries on with talks,Israel's position of power is clear to all.If Abbas refuses to carry on,he goes down and takes the Arab League with him in world opinion. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
33. #21, really why?
Danny   (09.27.10)
There was a freeze for 12months and Israel STILL got blamed. The fact is that Israel will get blamed no matter what, better to end the sham of the talks now
34. Who cares what they think.
Avi The Builder ,   Eretz Yisrael   (09.27.10)
We will build everywhere on our land. If Bibi wants to stay in power he won't stop us.
35. "With friends like this, who needs enemies?"
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.27.10)
Too bad the enemies of Israel and the U.S. do not like our building on our Jewish land. They neveer said anything about the illegal arab building and the illegal arab settlers on our land. b.o. is just a jihadist that put some anti Semitic, anti Jewish "jews" in his administration. hitlery clinton is a rabid anti Zionist. mitchell is an arab ex senator. Finally, the secretary general of the u.n., monkey man is a stooge of the islamo facists.Let him move the illegal settlements of s,korea from the territory of no.korea. The little man can start to divide seoul in half and give e,seoul to the no,koreans,
36. U.S. "Disappointed"?? Yeah, well, GET OVER IT!!
flyingdoc57 ,   Florida, U.S.A.   (09.27.10)
"Disappointed" doesn't even begin to describe how we Jews and Israel supporters are at Obama, Clinton and the whole Muslim-pandering, Jew-hating administration. Go build victory mosques at the entrance to the Pentagon and the site of the 9/11 Pennsylvania crash. Maybe THAT will help you feel better.
37. Palestenians should also freeze
Sam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.27.10)
If Israel must freeze construction in the West Bank then is it not fair and equal that the Palestenians should also freeze their building? Why is their negotiations otherwise?
38. US policy is wrong
E1   (09.27.10)
US has to declare: 1. Israel is and will be for ever the State of the Jewish people 2. The final borders will not be the borders of 1967 (per UN 242) and will have to consider the demographic changes which took place over the years, on top of the security challanges 3. Any Agreement will call for the end of the conflict and the end of claims Under the above parameters extension of the freezing for additional 2-3 month can be considered
39. CRY ME A RIVER
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (09.27.10)
The US state department is known for its notorious anti Israel policies and its pro Arab(read oil) stance. While there are many serious world conflicts going on, everybody sticks his nose in the business off a couple of Jews building some homes on empty hilltops. Even the tread off an A-bomb in the hands of some lunatics seems less scary then Jewish self determination. I am sure that our dear state department and our friend Hussein Obama will do a lot more arm twisting behind the scenes, but this will be no disappointment to us. In fact anything that this administration will do, won't disappointment us at all, we expect them to act in this manner. As history has shown allies are just that and are based on interests, for once we should just do what we are supposed to do and posses our land.
40. Abbas is a failure, two-state solution a failure
Joseph ,   West Bank   (09.27.10)
Abbas is a failure as is the supposed "two-state" solution. Israel has shown that its settlements are clearly more important than peace and a two-state solution. There will never be a viable, sovereign State of Palestine. It is time for Abbas to abandon any hopes for the two-state solution and dissolve his failed PA experiment because it has achieved nothing except more settlements and continued occupation of the lands. It is time for the one-state solution--Palestinians must demand that Israel annex the territories along with Gaza and grant full citizenship to all the Palestinians (including refugees) and take responsibility for the people. The PA is a failure, the two-state solution is a failure. The settlers have won.
41. Sick of giving my taxes to Israel
John ,   U.S.A   (09.27.10)
We should fight the U.S-Israeli lobby, and stop giving our hard earned money to this ungrateful and stubborn state. Let them defend themselves on their own and see how they cope. Even though 62% of the West Bank is under full Israeli control and contains 500,000 Israeli settlers, the settlers still want more. They won't stop until they've completely driven the Palestinians away from the so called holy land.
42. When the US returns land to Native-Americans...
Manic Drummer ,   Madison, WI, US   (09.27.10)
...that will be the day Israel might consider land for peace. Notice I said "consider" and not "surrender."
43. US is disappointed Jews allowed to build kindergartens
USA   (09.27.10)
Satelite photos of Jewish schools and billings on Obamas desk are a danger to world peace and stability.
44. And?
Uzziel   (09.27.10)
A different country can feel "disappointment" with the internal decision of a SOVEREIGN country? Have this lot (Hussein Ubama, Mitchell the arab, Hillary) expressed disappointment with another country? I´d like to know.
45. :: Build baby, build
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (09.27.10)
And forge about that closet Muslim in the White House
46. To: FlyingDoc 57 at No. 36
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.27.10)
Brilliant response!
47. To: No. 41
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.27.10)
Oh, stop already with the vitriolic tirades. I cannot remember a single instance where the United States defended Israel. A half-hearted veto in the Security Council (to counter the Soviets) scarcely counts. How do you feel about paying your hard-earned taxes to Egypt? Jordan? The Palestine Authority? Iraq? Pakistan? Kyrgizstan? The Ukraine? Turkmenistan? Russia? Romania? Bulgaria? Hungary? Moldova? Uzbekistan? Khazakstan? China? Each of the foregoing receive more aid than does Israel, and none of THEM gave the United States its first look at the MIG-21 and MIG-23, and T-72 tank (at a time when it was the mainstay tank of the Warsaw Pact countries and there was nothing in the NATO arsenal that could pierce the armor of the T-72). Talk about UNGRATEFUL!
48. Sending My Opinion from Dallas
Elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, TEXAS!   (09.27.10)
Frankly, I think that the Israeli leadership should extend the freeze for a few more months (Jan. 1, perhaps). I really do. So the US is disappointed in Israel? Well, are they disappointed in the secret meetings being held in Syria between Fatah and HAMAS? Yeah, the corrupt US news sources are NOT reporting that but fortunately by word of mouth, we Americans are learning to bypass Fox News and CNN and seeking other news sources abroad, as well as those BLOGGERS who are movers and shakers!! Fox News and CNN are NOT to be trusted...
49. so many racist comments on this site
chris ,   australia   (09.27.10)
Reading some of these comments makes me sick. For a state founded by a race of people so persecuted and tormented, it surprises me that on my travels to Israel this year i found so much racism and hatred towards other human beings on this planet. Israel just felt full of hate. I found nothing holy about that land whatsoever. Just bloodshed and hate. May as well let the Palestinians and Israelis destroy themselves. Neither of them want peace, and they never have. Peace talks are only political for them.
50. Israel is illegal under international law.
USA   (09.27.10)
Israel must obey international law and dismantle itself immediately.
51. So?
Tony ,   USA   (09.27.10)
What are they going to do sell $60 billion of weapons to the Saudi's. They already did that.
52. hi sarah b
john ,   usa   (09.27.10)
Tirades? Come on Sarah, I made one comment... How do i feel about giving my hard-earned taxes? I don't give them, my government does. And it's a complete waste of resources really. I'm not looking to make comparisons here. I'm sick of Israel acting like they want peace, when that government and it's populous couldn't care less. If the state wasn't getting the support from U.S like this, Israel would have dissolved a long time ago. Bottom line is, Israel doesn't know how to operate in peace, or without mandatory service and a US-grant military. And honestly, i couldn't give a damn about your jets and tanks. These are weapons designed solely to kill other human beings. Something i disagree with entirely. Take Nuclear weapons as an example. While most of the developed world sign the NPT to try and get rid of this huge threat to humanity - the only countries with Nukes that refuse to sign are Israel, India and Pakistan. Israel would rather spend money on designing guns and tanks to kill Palestinians instead of supporting it's pathetic and dwindling social care system. For me, that sums up what the state is all about. You know, some day in the future this planet will get hit by a massive asteroid. We'll all be dead, and all this fighting and bickering will have been for nothing. Honestly, if God were still looking down on us from up there, he'd be thinking "look what they've done to my wonderful creation", and find no humanity amongst us any more. God turned his back on all of us and this planet a loooooong time ago methinks.
53. #50, oh... ok whatever you say chief
Eyal ,   USA   (09.27.10)
54. An Obvious Set-Up
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (09.27.10)
1. Get Israel to agree to a 9 month freeze. 2. When it is over, "hint" that they should extend it, you know, for goodwill's sake. 3. When Israel doesn't extend the freeze, show deep disappointment. 4. Create the feeling that, once again, it's Israel's fault that things are failing. Now, if I understand math correctly, nine months means nine months and not ten months. Ergo, once nine months are over - so is the freeze. That was the deal. Israel kept it's side of the deal, as stupid as it was to begin with. Why didn't the US squeeze the Arabs all this time saying, "Hey fellows. If you don't make an agreement within the window of nine months, it will be your fault."
55. And what do Republicans have to say ?
Roland Seener ,   London England   (09.28.10)

Birdi ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
With your bi-polar attitude there isnt much hope for you.
57. # 54
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
Not 9 months or 9 years. They want us to stop building totally. No maths required there.
58. # 50
Birdi ,   Israel   (09.28.10)
HOGWASH.
59. #52...John
Malone ,   Hfx   (09.28.10)
