I think the most formidable way to retaliate in a PR war (which the stone throwing is in this case) is not to ignore or to swear at the enemy, but to make him looking ... mmm... unclever, to put it mildly. Bullets, shells, stones are real weapons, but can you imagine an article in a newspaper: "The president was deeply offended by a tasty banana presented to him by the Israelis" ?Just my opinion though.
