1. You can't quit what you've never started!!
flyingdoc57 ,   Florida, U.S.A.   (09.29.10)
The so-called Palestinians (no such nation/people, of course) have never engaged in any such peace talks. All they do is demand and reject, and leave it up to Israel and the rest of the world to make offer after offer after offer. But, then, when you've got nothing to give, I guess it only makes sense that you've got no reason to talk. Like junkyard dogs, Abbas and his clan of helpless, hopeless beggars will have to make do with whatever Israel throws them. If they don't like it, they should go home to Jordan. Of course, as we all know, Jordan would not give them one one-hundredth of what Israel gives them. So, they stay and moan and groan. What pathetic losers.
2. lets start to deport them now
Yehoshua J1 ,   USA   (09.29.10)
We gave them a chance and they said no. We will talk if you recognize the Jewish state First.
3. More Croc tears from the Terrorist clan
AlbertoGA ,   St.George, USA   (09.29.10)
They have nothing to offer On top of it is 100% clear that they want the destruction of Israel This circus talk must end once for all.
4. Excellent!
Brad ,   USA   (09.29.10)
Israel keeps building, and Israel doesn't have to listen to any of Abbas bullcrap. Sounds like a win, win situation for Israel. Oh, and if the "world" doesn't like it, then it's a win, win, win situation. No problem.
5. :: Global consensus will win in the end
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (09.29.10)
"The consensus is that since the entire world is in favor of a Palestinian state and against settlements, then let us throw this problem in the face of the world and see what they can do about it" This is a critical point that the Ynuts here need to understand - that their ‘denial’ of the Palestinian right to self-determination and an independent state of Palestine with E Jerusalem as its capital is a minority opinion.
6. IS ISRAELI REDUCED TO TAKE ORDERS FROM ARABS AND WORLD ENEMY
........DACON9   (09.29.10)
THIS IS THE RESULT OF APPEASEMENTS, LIBERALISM, GAZA LAND GIVE AWAYS, TEMPORARY AGREEMENTS THAT BECOME PERMANENT,FAILURE TO RESPOND TO ARAB PROPAGANDA IN THE MEDIA. THIS IS THE RESULT OF MODERN ISRAEL DREAMING WHAT AVIGDOR LIEBERMAN SAID... IS FACT BASED ON HISTORY NEVER WILL BE PEACE FOR DECADES WHEN MASHIACH ARRIVES
7. SO DONT TALK,,GO TO BED EARLY, NO TV
......DACON9   (09.29.10)
8. They never wanted or want peace with Israel ...
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (09.29.10)
how many more times are these parasitical vipers going to walk away from the so-called 'peace' talks? Israel must repatriate it's parasitical arabs wanting their houmous and eat it. One day .... the world will finally be rid of islam and all will rejoice!
9. don't get it
Ilana   (09.29.10)
They want a country, so they should start talking. No pre concessions, no unilateral moves on Israel's part like in withdrawing from gaza in 2005-it just made the situation worse. Perhaps they don't want a state they like being in the news, getting tons of money, committing terror against Israel. That's what we think, as they could have had a state many times over.
10. poor matty.........
Martin Jeffrey ,   Sacramento   (09.29.10)
yes Matty.........a minority opinion indeed......that's the way it has always been with the Jews....a very small minority opinion....however the survival of Israel is not subject to international whim...so whine all you want with the rest of your co-horts.....never again
11. #5 Matty - when in history was there a Palestinian people?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (09.29.10)
Matty at no point in history did the Palestinians have a right to self-determination or an independent state. At best they were Ottoman Arabs (700 years), Arabs under the Crusaders (100 years), Arabs under the Jews or Romans (700 years), etc. So how can they have rights to something that was never theirs?
12. Freeze condition of Roadmap, US/EU vs Israel problem not PAs
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.29.10)
US policy since 1947's UN 181 is a 2 state solution but soon one state solution maybe only viable option, with settlements all over W. Bank it borderline now. If US doesn't acted now then $1T and 5000 dead in 2 wars was a major waste and US power in ME will be limited a best, with Russia, China and India taking the lead in the next decade. That could bring 2/3 of world population under Eastern controls with US days as a super power numbered.
13. Historic shift to Arab suffrage, equal rights
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.30.10)
...in Palestine Israel, on person one vote. Let the world decide if this is fair, and just, and worth fighting for, like the world fought for the end of Apartheid in South Africa.
14. Canaan is our homeland Ask Abraham..............# 11
Palestinian   (09.30.10)
15. Another Test
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.29.10)
Abbas knows that the US,EU,UN will all pressure the easily pressured Netanyahu to submit to their demands. He's betting on the always buckling under pressure faithless Jewish leader to bend again to the will of the goyim because he knows who Netanyahu serves and it is evident he does not serve God or follow or believe His word. If he did he would never have gone along with the two state final solution. Netanyahu fails the test by limiting building in Judea and Samaria
16. #14
(09.30.10)
In the Koran is written that Israel was given to the Jews. End of discussion.
17. Good. Israel has nothing to talk to the P.A. about.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.30.10)
This whole thing is so simple. The P.A. wants to steal Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria from Israel and trim our waist to just 8 miles. They also want to inundate us with hostile Arabs. That is the purpose of the "peace talks". So it's a very good thing for the talks to end. Israel has nothing to talk to the P.A. about.
18. 2-States as Deas as a Doornail
Nour ,   One-State الدولة   (09.30.10)
Enough of the dead horse-kicking and let's just face the facts: 500,000 entrenched settlers many of whom are fanatical Jews will not leave the West Bank without live ammunition being fired in all directions. The burden is now shifted towards the re-education and rehabilitation of Israeli Jews about the inalienable human and political rights of Palestinians from river to sea! We are human beings, and we will not rest until we have the vote and are counted as full citizens with our head held up high internationally. Given the demise of the 2-state solution, any other scenario (or the current status quo) stinks of utter racism and apartheid. We will not rest until we reach our objective: Arab, Muslim and Christian culture being accepted as indigenous and fully entitled to political representation even at Prime Minister level !!!!
19. Good Faith Payment for 6 Months
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (09.30.10)
Abbas had 10 months to open direct talks, when there WAS a freeze in effect. Bibis mistake, not demanding reciprocity (no rtn of refugees, etc.).Perhaps he didnt want to go on that tract..we give this and you give that. It backfired, typically against Israel, always blamed for everything by the EU and UN anyway. Now, the EU wants a freeze prior to their visit. Oh come on! Either this is between Israel-Palestinina, or it is not. Egypt said the same..you, Israel will be held accountable if...Its Israel vs the world per Abbas and his supporters (League). Its all designed to force Israel piecemeal to relinquish everything, w/o receiving anything in rtn. Okay Bibi, call his bluff. Extend the freeze 6 months..no other concessions, for the sake of peace. But this time, mean it.
20. Canaan is our homeland Ask Abraham..............# 11
Palestinian   (09.30.10)
21. Talks to end without rockets seizing
Yaniv ,   Israel   (09.30.10)
22. #12, blame US, Jordan for failure of US "2-state" policy
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (09.30.10)
The US and international are solely to blame for their own failure to stop Jordanian annexation, Jordanian settlement building and Jordanian land confiscation in the West Bank, from 1948-1967. Trans-Jordan, not a party to the UN 1947 partition, declared war and crossed the Jordan river in a blatant land-grab, with Brit assistance. THAT is why there is no Palestinian state on the "West Bank" today, not because of israeli settlements ("West Bank" is a term invented by Trans-Jordan, after they changed their name to "Jordan", to consolidate their conquest and theft). US and Brits then armed Jordan in the 1950's and60's, instead of demanding an end to Jordanian settlements in the West Bank. Jorfdan used those weapons to try to conquer Israel in 1967, were defeated, and lost the West Bank, which according to the UN, international law and even the Arab League never belongedto Jordan in the first place. THAT is why the US and "the world" have no credibility whan it comes to demanding "freeze" on Jewish towns in the so-called "West Bank" - they didn't act against Jordan, and now have no right to impose a double standard on Isael - especially when the "Palestinians" refuse to recognize Jewish Israel as the UN demanded 63 years ago. 87 US senators just signed a letter reminding Obama of this very fact, so Hussein pressuring only Israel while the PLO sits on their hands and makes non-negotiable demands isn't going to work. You and Obama may not agree with all these facts, but 87 US senators do, and that's all that matters.
23. #14 claiming Canaanites were "palestinians". Why stop there?
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (09.30.10)
Why not claim ancestry and ownership right back to the Neanderthals who lived in the caves under Mt. Carmel. Or to be safe, maybe to the brontosauruses living there before? Oh wait, that was the Jew-rassic Era! Better claim that the Palestinian Arabs go all the way back to the tribolites. You are really embassasing yourself, "Palestinian" #14, any Jewish schoolchild from Tel Aviv can read the 1900 year old Dead Sea Scrolls - the "palestinans", not so much. Your state is Jordan, 4 times the size of Israel, and with a 75% ethnic "palestinian" majority. You don't need 2 states (I guess this is what the PLO accepts in "2-state solution"). Get yourselves some courage, and get rid of the Iraqi Hashemite overlords who stole your heritage, and leave our Jewish state alone.
24. re11:Maybe 3000yrs is long enough to be ruled by others
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (09.30.10)
There were 7 groups of non-Jews living in Israel 3000yrs ago under Saul, who tried to remove and kill them, King David made peace with them. Israel was only a united nation for 91yrs before 1948 and was split into 2 countries of Judah and Israel after Solomon's death until the Romans destroyed both and united it as Palestine, a Roman province.
25. go home already. take them at their word. good riddence to r
ralph   (09.30.10)
rubbish
26. You can take a donkey to water but you can't make it drink
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (09.30.10)
Abbas and his gang seem to have forgoten that the reason for these talks is for the Palestinians to get a state. It they are too stupid to see that they don't deserve a state!
27. Since when this gesture has become a precondition?
Bat Zion ,   Centre, Israel   (09.30.10)
Does anyone even remember that the freeze was a gesture?
28. Marcel If Netanyahu adheers to what you surmize then he will
Stephen ,   Albany/USA   (09.30.10)
He is a gonnar for sure and will be yesterday's man/PM . Forget the US,EU,UN they are a bunch of ninnies and not trust worthy. They can try BUT WILL LOSE because of its cedibility in only truying it on Israel forgetting the more urgent deals hanging in the balance.versus other countries needing censure. But the only obsess with tiny Israel as scape goat. And since when has the UN been acredible and any good where Israel is concerned? They keep on the pressure owing to the many arab and other dictatorships who are BUTCHERS running wild and free like this Bashir the butcher of Sudan free without any censure by the par fof the course the said members who should be thrown,or better still the disolution of the whole corrupt establishment. That said, I agree with you if BB allows to relinquish Judea and Samaria hewill be DEAD MAN WALKING.In spirit and self preservation. Shall we be optimistic in hopes that Lieberman puts a strict restraining order to stop BB in his tracks. Good night from Abany
29. OBAMAS FAILED POLICY !!!.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.30.10)
Israel would be blamed for talks' failure if it insists on expanding settlements, PA negotiator Shaath says; 'Let us throw this problem in face of world and see what they can do about it,' PLO official says WHAT HAS THE WORLD WITH THE PEACE BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE SO CALLED PALESTINIANS TO DO ??? IF THE SO CALLED PALESTINIANS WANT PEACE, THEY WILL HOLD ON TO PEACE, AND MAKE PEACE WITH ISRAEL, AND DONT TRY TO USE THE WORLD AS AMUNITION AGAINST ISRAEL, BECAUSE THIS IS WAR. THIS HOLE SO CALLED PEACE PROCESS, INSPIRED BY THE OTHER ONE, IS ONLY A FARSE ORCHESTRADED BY OBAMA, TO MAKE ISRAEL LOSE. ALL THIS IS A SPIRITUAL WAR BETWEEN YEHOWAH AND THE OTHER ONE, AND IS BY THE WORLD CALLED A PEACE PROSESS. GOD BEVERE !!!. Arn.
30. The Arabs want "core issue" result without discussion...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.30.10)
Clearly, what the Muslim-Arabs demand is to implement - before the matter was even discussed and agreed upon by the parties - their view of one of the "core issues" to be directly and without preconditions negotiated by the parties. The parties, after a year and a half of Israel's insistence, have finally set down to discuss directly and without preconditions the "core issues" and a final agreement between the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel, and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), it being part of the Arab League of States. Israel, as a form of goodwill gesture to the Muslim-Arab world, set a ten-month moratorium on construction in Jewish villages and towns. The Arabs, true to tradition, didn't reciprocate. Indeed, shooting at Jews continued and firing of rockets at kindergartens of Jewish children didn't cease. Now the Arabs, supported by a cynical world, demand that the gesture made by Israel on a temporary basis will become a fixed act, while the subject of "settlements" in the DISPUTED territories has not come for discussion yet. There are only two fair options: (1) Since the territories are in dispute, no one, Arabs and Jews alike, will be engaged in construction of any sort in these territories. (2) All issues, including "settlements", will be discussed and decided upon by the sides in direct negotiations without any preconditions. Refusing to either one of these options, which the Arabs do, makes one question: Do the Muslim-Arabs, local and regional, actually want to reach an accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew, between the Muslim-Arab world and the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel? The late Mr. Abba Eban once said: "The Arabs have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity" for peace. Let us hope they don't prove Mr. Eban correct once again...!!
