1. Ottoman Soldiers in Palestine? Impossible!
Jameel Rashid ,   The Muqata   (09.30.10)
How pathetic -- there NEVER were Ottoman soldiers in Palestine 92 years ago, because the Palestinians have ruled here for millennium. There was always a Palestinian army, Palestinian Rule, and we were all ruled by the "Palestinian Authority". 92 years ago, there were no British soldiers here, no Turkish or Ottoman soldiers...just Fatah and Hamas. So please stop trying to rewrite history. Thank you. Jameel Rashid muqata.blogspot.com

Cameron ,   USA   (10.01.10)
No corrupt & declining Turkish empire? No forever rotting and stagnant Holy Land, century after century, like the waves of the ocean forever falling on the beach?
5. :: This is proof that Arab never owned Jews' land
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (10.01.10)
6. Jameel, that's not hat I was taught!
Machmud Fachwa ,   The Muqata suberbs   (10.01.10)
The Turks, our friends, were in Palestine but only to throw the the Emperialist British out. Arafat the boy king had a government in exile in Turkey. Anyone who don't believe can look up Palestine Bank. Bank notes with Palestine on them. If there was a bank then there must have been a government! Right?
7. Ottoman soldiers
Achmed Abuk ,   Safadiyya   (10.01.10)
As my friend Jamal wrote, there never were such soldiers in Palestine. They obviously were Palestinian soldiers wearing uniforms made in Turkey which was a sanjak of The Imperial Palestinian Empire. I imagine that they were in that cave sheltering from the Israelis.
8. Turkiye Gendarmerie
Esmek Attahburk ,   Ankarra Turkiye   (10.01.10)
They were in the service of The Al-Jazar Brigade of Turkiye conscripts and were in fact Falstinian Royal blood from The Emperor Fisel El Tibiabia
9. Heres a serious talkback!
Israeli grandma   (10.01.10)
Anyone who doesnt have a pre-programmed agenda, or has not been effectively brainwashed can consult a respectable history book to discover that the Ottomans (Turks mainly) overran the whole Middle East for a long period, and treated what is now Israel as a tiny and insignificant part of their domain - principally as source of taxation and forced conscription for their armies. The area was in this period poor, underpopulated and much of the peasantry was undernourished and indebted to Arab landowners. The land was largely barren, trees were chopped down, and only the interests of the Christians in their Holy Land and their religious institutions made some difference as they were funded from overseas. Also during this period the majority population of old Jerusalem was JEWISH although they also had to live largely from overseas charity.
10. Turkish soldiers
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.01.10)
Remains of Turkish mercenaries found in a cave on the West Bnk ,but only from 1918,meantime the Muslim Waqf tries it,s utmost to destroy ,hide the history of ancient Israel, under the Temple Mount ,going back more than 2500 years plus ,the usual Arab distortions of history ,nothing new here?
11. TURKISH SOLDIERS
BORA TURK ,   IZMIR - TURKEY   (10.01.10)
Ottoman Turks ruled Palestine 400 years untill 1918 Some of the soldiers might be local Arabs mostly Anatolian Turks, anyway they were all Ottoman citizens as well as the Jews or Druze who used to live in the area. Anyway that time there was no Palestine, it was part of Ottoman Syria Palestine was only a geographic term.... untill the British invented Jordan-Syria-Iraq-Palestine on the occupied lands fromTurks. There are tens of thousands Turkish soldiers are lying under the soil in SInai, Beersheva, Gaza,Jerusalem and Nablus areas. God bless them , they were fighting for their country.

Cameron ,   USA   (10.01.10)
Just the tragic remains of those who had the misfortune of trying to prop up a tottering empire as worn out & bankrupt as the Byzantines.
