2. No More Israeli Concessions
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (10.01.10)
For 63 years Palestinians have attacked Israel in an effort to destroy Israel. Israel has made unilatteral concessions to bring about peace and a two state solution. As seen with Arafat, the Palestinians want nothing to do with a two state solution. NO MORE CONCESSIONS TO PALESTINIANS. Abbas either wants peace or he can move "his" people to Jordan or Gaza and Obama can have his two state solution.
3. Extortion
James ,   USA   (10.01.10)
Interesting...Israel wants money, weapons, and guarantees from my country in exchange for halting an ILLEGAL activity. Amazing what the State of Israel can get away with. .
4. Moderate and restrained construction
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.01.10)
The Palestinaisn and everyone else know that Israel always capitulates under pressure so they have no need to 'relax' conditions. They also know that a moderate and restrained Israel will not survive much longer. WHY RESTRAIN BUILDING WHEN HAMAS IS NOT RESTRAINED ?
5. PA should declare palestine state now
syria eagle ,   homs   (10.01.10)
and put Obama on the spot you either support palestinian state or not and the rest of the world will follow the settlers are irrelevant they will start running as the sanctions start bites
6. The picture of Bibi is very hilarious
Jack. A   (10.01.10)
7. This is not the Likud any longer
Steven ,   San Francisco   (10.01.10)
It is some other party led by a PM and "senior officials" that have taken on the role of the Labor party. Dump Netanyahu now!
8. What A Complete Waste Of Energy!
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (10.01.10)
They can all talk until they are blue in the face. Everyone already knows that the Palestinians cannot even make peace between themselves and nobody really trusts them or cares any longer what happens to them. They are still Arabs and as long as Israel exists and as long as there is a Jewish presence in Israel, there will be conflict. It doesn't matter what Israel does or what concessions it makes, none of it matters. What does matter is Israel's survival as a sovereign Jewish state and whatever Israel has to do to ensure that happens, so be it. At the end of the day, Israel is still talking to Arabs and therein lies the problem as anyone with a double-digit IQ is well aware.
9. Ehud Barak
Rachel ,   US   (10.01.10)
Why do I have the feeling he is the "source."
10. How much to leave the land

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.01.10)
Nothing illegal about building settlements in non-sovereign land which was acquired by Israel in the course of fighting a DEFENSIVE war (Jordan did attack Israel, after all, in 1967). Got any more pearls of "wisdom" you care to share? Mameleh, this is an Israeli news forum. You're dealing with a lot of Jews here, and we are not as stupid as you are. Prepare to account for your claims, or get lost.
12. #3 James - not extortion fair trade
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & New York   (10.01.10)
James you seem to forget that all land West of the Jordan River is Israel according to the UN charter. Thus there is no illegal activity going on in the area. Even the peace treaty with Jordan dose not call the area occupied. There has never been a Palestinian people nor country, but Israel is willing to let the Jordanian and Egyptian Arabs have their own country in exchange for peace. But after years of giving them "incentives" to talk peace and getting nothing in return, if Obama wants Israel to act to give up its land then he can guarantee that Israel will not loose from the process when the Palestinians once again turn down a good offer.
13. The world will solve the "Jewish problem"
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.01.10)
...at the UN, in the Security Council, using economic, military, and political sanctions, just like with South Africa.
14. Steve Benassi has poor vision
Rachel ,   USA   (10.01.10)
the only problems we see is Hamass, Hissbolla, Iran and Syria. Maybe we should wait to see that Jordan and Egypt take control of their citizens, WB and Gaza?
15. the likud is stupid
fady egypt   (10.01.10)
instead of sending a message of support to the the prime minister as he is standing firm they encourage him to extend the racist freeze i hope bibi to stand firm as it is clear that the likud is no longer a right wing party
16. To #3 - good point
Mike ,   Mpls, USA   (10.01.10)
Too bad you can't express your opinion without some bigot like #11 having to rip into you. Some folks only believe in their free speech. With people like #11, there never will be peace for Israel or any of her neighbors. It's good to see that the Israeli side has their price. Of course, I shouldn't comment because there are so may Jewish readers of Ynet. I'm not Jewish, but I sure enjoy checking in everyday and seeing what is going on from the Israeli perspective. Long live Israel.
17. It is time for Abbas to accept reality & move on
Rachel ,   USA   (10.01.10)
Israel needs to build, build and build all over Israel - Abbas hopes that things will change re Samaria & Judea's building is being unreal on this part. No more consession on Israel's part - What concession did the arabs give us??? NONE
18. All these people ...
Esther ,   USA   (10.01.10)
... where would they go if not for these buildings. Look at this picture with men, women and children waiting to live under a roof. Thanks to Bibi for allowing to build on Israel's land.
19. Careful there #16 (MIKE)
Israeli 2   (10.01.10)
You don't know who you are dealing with here. Sarah B. is the Lioness of Judah. If you are new to this forum, at least pay attention to her. You might learn what every Jew feels and knows.
20. last i checked
pini ,   usa   (10.01.10)
life in israel was fine and we could really care less what happens to the jordanian arabs who cry wolf and pretend to be palestinians, whatever that is. Hey BenASSi, i think its about time you go to Israel so we can deal with the "you" problem.
21. Marcel #4 is right
Steve   (10.01.10)
Moderate and restrained construction is folly. Just as foolish if not more foolish are the un-named "senior Likud officials" who are expressing eagerness to extend this immoral building freeze if the US will grease their open palms. Give these senior Likud officials a bribe in the bossom and they will perform intimate acts with their lovers and thus invite further immoral and unreasonable pressure on Israel.
22. Likud must demand an end to betrayal.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.01.10)
Likud was established with the platform of massively settling ALL of Israel, including Judea and Samaria. Any Likud Minister, who doesn't support the platform, should be shown the door. Likud must demand an end to the betrayal. Bibi's history is one long series of betraying everything Likud stands for and everything Israel votes for, to implement the reviled policies of the left.
23. The settlements are NOT illegal
Jewish Warrior ,   Israel/US   (10.01.10)
The UN has recognized the territories as "disputed" rather than "occupied". Indeed, Israel wants some land. It is only illegal to move civilians into an OCCUPIED territory captured in a War of Aggression (The Six-Day War was a pre-emptive defensive strike, Arab documents and speeches prove that).
24. I smell Ehud Barak
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (10.01.10)
Just a idle speculation no proof Wonder how much this Ehud Barak is making if this deal goes through. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
25. To #3 James
Mark ,   New York   (10.02.10)
Why is it illegal? Because UN says so, Arabs never used to care about what the UN says, they illegally invaded a UN established state in 48', illegally blockaded and terrorized Israel in 67' and once again illegally invaded in 73'...now they want Israel to follow every UN edict because they lost land in those conflicts, land they lost by illegally invading Israel! As far as extortion, what extortion, it was our great president Obama who offered all those gifts, Israeli leaders didnt ask for any of them, Israel simply kept it's word for 10 months...it's Obama and Abbas that are changing the game now...offering gift because they know it could lead to Netanyahu's demise...the Likud simply said they would accept the offer. Hardly extortion. If anyone is try extort anything for the US it's Abbas.
26. Israel, after we established what you are lets talk price
Leon K   (10.02.10)
now...:)....
27. "REAL" Likud does not implement MERETZ policy! Shame on you
Real Likud ,   MeretzLaborville, TA   (10.02.10)
fake likud. REAL Likud is Moshe Faiglin, you know it,. I know it and so does everyone with an ounce of modern Jewish history in their head.
28. 13. Benassi- what of the Arab refusal allowing Jewish synago
Jae ,   Lynn US   (10.02.10)
synagogues in Mecca?
29. DEGENERATE Israeli politics - Israel doesn't need money
Schreiber   (10.02.10)
but self-respect!!! The Likud has no redeeming qualities. They are all willing to compromise in order to save their jobs. Everything is for sale - at the right price. What are you waiting, people, to show your own disgust. Demand to speak to your MKs and tell them what you expect from them.
30. #22 Chaim, stop expecting anything from your MKs
Schreiber   (10.02.10)
without putting appropriate pressure on them. It's the people that must take the initiative. Your MKs said nothing when Bibi demoted Feiglin, when he postponed Likud elections, when he agreed to Two States. ANd the people did little more than grumbling. Your Likud MKs are not there to fight for you. They are there to be loyal to Bibi, and Bibi is there for himself, for the feeling of power. The citizens, in the meantime, are getting screwed.
