In this world one can only dream of to cast a shadow onto the pages of history such as this great man did. He continues to be an inspiration even from his grave, showing the world that arab and jew do live and work together side-by-side in the land of Israel. Long live the Druze, Long live the memory of Sheikh Bessis, Long live the state of Israel...

even prophets (especially Hebrew ones) should know when it is time to be silent and pay honor to the memory of a very good man who did not let our people or our nation (his and ours for he is our brother) down. May Sheikh Daoud Bessis' memory be for a goodly blessing! May his family be comforted.

This man deserves great respect. A shame the story only came into light so late. To the British, I sincerely you also honour this man. He deserves it. A hero is a hero. Our nation appreciates and thanks you. Bless you and your family.

May God/Allah welcome him into heaven. A history professor of mine used to say that heroes aren't brave and unusual people but common men (and women) doing the right thing in uncommon times. In memory of a true hero.
