3. on behalf of Abu Mazen: YOUR OFFER IS REJECTED!
Salma ,   Palestine   (10.04.10)
Mr. Netanyahu, talking is about two states, NOT a state, and an island surrounded by "Israel" !! Without the Jordan Valley, Palestine will not be a viable state and will be unable to flourish economically and socially. is there another way out ?!!
4. He'll never pass it through the cabinet.
Janice Cohen ,   ירושלים   (10.04.10)
And it remains doubtful if he really wants to. Obviously al-Sharq al-Awsat is not the most reliable source of information for these types of things.
5. Bibi is finished if this passes.
Wise Saba ,   Israel   (10.04.10)
6. Netanyahu conditions
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.04.10)
Very clever our man Bibi, what with American midterm elections around the corner and a huge suprise in store for Obama and his looney left govt. agreeing to another 60 days settlement freeze ,but no more thereafter is really piling the pressu re on an already under siege Obama and Abbas . All these Israeli last minute concessions mean even bigger guarantees from the incoming administration after Obama has departed the White House, inshallah ?
7. $$?
Jack. A   (10.04.10)
8. Likud
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (10.04.10)
Apparently Netanyahu decided to destroy the Likud. Interesting to know whether he plans to join Kadima or to set up a new political party with Barak.
9. NOTHINYAHU NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.04.10)
Nothingyahu is the kid who lets everyone kick sand in his face .He is not fit to be a leader .He should go home and sell furniture.
10. JUST SAY NO
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.04.10)
It is quite easy to do really. Alternatively ,make me Prime Minister and I will send Obama and the awful Clintons packing and in tears.
11. #2 You are totally wrong
mlewis ,   Israel   (10.04.10)
Israel was not forced on Palestinians since at that time, the local Arabs did not think of themselves as Palestinians. that term was reserved for Israel's Jewish population. The land of Israel, our Jewish homeland for thousands of years, was carved up to make a homeland for the Arabs - carved up by the British, no less, at the end of WWI. That part of the land of Israel east of the river Jordan, along with parts of syria, Saudi Arabia and what is now Iraq were formed into one country called Trans (= across, in case your Latin fails you) Jordan, known today as Jordan. that is the true Paelstine ratified in law at the 1922 San Remo Conference and agreed to by both Jewish and Arab leaders. Shame the Arab people decided they just didn't want the Jews around anywhere. Well, you Brits along with the UN gave into the Arabs - don't you always and still are - and carved up what was designted the Jewish homeland and came up with the 1947 Partition Plan, really chopping up Eretz Yisrael into unmangeable bits. But we Jews accepted it, the Arabs, of course did not and unleashed th 1948 war. Hey, guess what, we won that and they've never forgiven us since. and wait, should they ever succeed in destroying us, which they never will, there will be nothing between you Brits, along with the rest of Europe, and the hundreds of millions of Moslems whose vowed aim is to "reclaim" the whole of Europe. Watch your back.
12. #3 Don't worry, even with no "Israel",
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (10.04.10)
so-called Palestine would never nor could ever flourish. I mean, there's no history of it ever flourishing. But who knows, theres a first time for everything.
13. Arab reporting is more often than not LIES!
(10.04.10)
14. The whole report sounds like hype to me!
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (10.04.10)
Hype and hearsay! The whole story would last about 10 seconds in court.
15. Under Advisement
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (10.04.10)
Obama should politely just take the Netanyahu terms under advisement until after the US elections. Then the US should walk away. Have fun with your Bi-national single state. Or maybe you can get France to mediate.
16. What happened?
Rachel ,   US   (10.04.10)
What happened to your guy? I remember watching Bibi on CNN during the 1st Gulf War and other times and thinking he is so articulate. He was such a good spokeman defending Israel and blowing all Arab counter parts away in debate. Now he's a dish rag to whatever the Arabs wants.
17. Gullible Bibi in 2 months time obama
Michael   (10.04.10)
will call it something else. israelis underestimate symantecs . In 2 months time the word freeze will not be uttered. Obama will call for a moraritorium on housing.
18. Abass reports to Hamas Another Trap No extention
Martin ,   Jhb SA   (10.04.10)
A freeze extention wont change negotiations they are a charade and a farce abass hasnt got a mandate freeze = suggests 67 borders legitimised Bibi wont get you a nobel prize. Man of year or what ever. Put our interests first. Obama and Bam mumble and Bibi jumps who is he impressing. The Arabs laugh, and say we hooked him again till next time. Avoid delusion lets build our country and impose a settlement that suits Yesha then look at pals needs. There are no negotiations just a sham Dont embarass us. If Abass withdraws his statement re 67 borders and admits that Yesha population under Israel boundries we can consider a freeze failing otherwise Bibi is in this trap. Politically we cant continue the freeze. Each time it just rolls over whilst bibi impressed the likes of obama and Hillary. Let them beg us not threaten us. Bibi is dithering over the lives of 500 000 Jewish neshomas no kneidelach. They are real the negotiations are unreal.
19. #3 well said!
Madeleine ,   Israel   (10.04.10)
There's no history of Palestine ever flourishing because Palestine is such a recent invention that it doesn't have a history.
20. #12 Oops
Madeleine ,   Israel   (10.04.10)
I meant well said number 12, in answer to no. 3.
21. if the government falls.....
chava ,   yerushalayim   (10.04.10)
If the coalition falls apart because of this, I worrry that Kadima will replace Yisrael Beiteinu and the NRP, and then, once again, we'll have voted right but received left, even more than now. What to do?
22. US, UN, World will decide for you
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.04.10)

23. no.22
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.04.10)
Okay Steve Benassi ,enough already as you don,t even understand what true democracy is as you Palestinians only had clowns in a Palestinian circus these past six plus decades with the chief clown, conman and ringmaster Yassir Arafat leading you to nowhere, try again?
24. no.21
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.04.10)

27. #3 Salma "is there another way out ?!! "
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (10.04.10)
Well,Salma,if Abbas doesn't stop setting preconditions and start negotiating seriously,HE'LL leave the Palestinian Arabs with only one way out.. The Allenby Bridge. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
28. #11 not quite that simple
Sealift67 ,   Northern California   (10.05.10)
as a patriot for zion I appreciate your analysis yet there are flaws. palestine was not our homeland for thousands of years. we held a brief monarchy that split in 2, judea and yisrael, over-run by assyrians, babylonians, greeks, egyptians, romans, persians, ottomans. dispersed in the first century CE zionism eventually arose in europe and gained mixed support in britian, with jews increasing slowly in number and purchasing land eg the 6 families that founded tel aviv. the UN agreed to a partition of the british mandate. the surrounding arabs and others fought us and lost, losing again in '55 , '67. '73. Israel requires a basic right of existence, secure borders, yet, do settlements in the trans jordan or west bank serve the objective of zion or do they weigh us down and cost us our moral standing?
